Semyon thinks that his baby can't be anything but a boy; others are trying to convince him not to be so sure: he has no result of ultrasonic scan yet. He also states that he considers anything but a son to be "defect product", which naturally insults Polina. Unfortunately, Olga wants a daughter, and certainly wouldn't react positively if she hears about Semyon's words. And indeed, once results comes, turns out that it's a girl; but Semyon, still unaware about this, walks around the hospital, telling everyone that he would have a son, and even proceeds to celebrate it -- which makes Olga angry at him. Bykov realises that Semyon again endangers his relationship with Olga out of stupidity, and goes to Olga to defend Lobanov, taking all the blame on himself and other interns. At that same moment, Semyon uses intercom to announce about his and Olga's daughter -- and his happiness over this -- to everyone, just in time for Olga to appear and hear it, and forgive him immediately.

Gleb meets one of his old friends, Anton, as his patient. Anton hasn't change a one bit since then -- still a brainless junkie partygoer... while Gleb (somewhat) changed for the best since then. Gleb tries to tell him about the wrongs of his lifestyle, but to no avail. Realising that he has no chance to succeed, he tries to ask Bykov for help, but he refuses, stating that there's no chance to save someone who doesn't want to be saved. Gleb asks Phil for help: Phil would pretend to be a Grim Reaper, scaring Anton into rethinking his lifestyle. Plan seemingly fails (Anton thinks that it's a "cool" hallucination caused by his medicine), but then Bykov busts them and kicks Phil out (as well as punish him with a night shift). However, later, Anton finds Gleb and tells him that he agrees to being treated: hallucinations about Grim Reaper never stopped, and long ceased to be funny. Only when Gleb sees that "Grim Reaper", too, he realises that it's their janitor Zoya Michailolvna, who had found the "requisite" in her storage and now looks for the owner. Unfortunately, Gleb fails to hide the stuff before being busted by Bykov, and gets punished himself.

Polina desperately needs to avoid staying on a night shift today. Since Phil would not swap places with her, she has only one sure way: to work under Kupitman, who never forces people on night shifts out of principle (to create a contrast with Bykov's methods, which he dislikes). Kupitman agrees, and even allows her to leave early -- it just so happened that he needs to leave for some time, and she can replace him. Polina runs into problems with her patients immediately, and gets forced to call Kupitman. When she fails to explain just what's wrong with her patient clearly enough for Kupitman to understand, she has a "brilliant" idea: send him a photo of the patient's organ (ignoring the patient's objections). Kupitman is forced to rush into hospital from a beauty salon to finish examining the patient. Predictably, Polina's antics results in patient complaining to Kisegach. She defends her and Kupitman, stating that she simply wanted to consult with her mentor (which convinces him to let them be), but in private, starts chewing them out. Kupitman gets denied his money bonus, while Polina's punishment is up to him. Kupitman remains faithful to his words, and rather than punish Polina himself, he forces her to send the photo of infected penis to Bykov, who promptly gives her a night shift himself.

* TheFatalist: Bykov's patient thinks that her time has come, because she had seen her late husband in her dream, who "invited" her on the other side, and now tries to convince Bykov not to bother with healing her, since it would be "useless anyway". Bykov barely manages to convince her, but then she [[ItMakesSenseInContext sees Phil in Grim Reaper's guise]], and snaps back into her delusion. She only changes her mind when she sees how Bykov kicks Phil out, still in that guise.

* {{Gaslighting}}: Rare positive example. Gleb's plan how to snap his junkie friend out of his stupidity is to cause him thinking that he started seeing signs of his imminent doom (by sending Phil to impersonate Grim Reaper). At first, plan fails, because Anton was more impressed by "cool" hallucination than scared by the fact that it was Grim Reaper. But when he started seeing it again and again (this time for reasons completely unrelated to Phil and Gleb), he started feeling fear and when Gleb visits him later, agrees to quit doing drugs.

Since Phil would not swap places with her, she has only one sure way: to work under Kupitman, who never forces people on night shifts out of principle (to created contrast with Bykov's methods which he dislikes). Kupitman agreed, and even allowed her to leave early -- it just so happened he needs to leave for some time, and she can replace him.

Gleb asked Phil for help: Phil would impersonate Grim Reaper, scaring Anton shitless, so he would reconsider his lifestyle. Plan failed (Anton considered Grim Reaper being cool hallucination caused by his medicine), but when Bykov busted them and kicked Phil out, they were noticed by Bykov's crazy patient, who interpreted Bykov kicking "Grim Reaper" as good omen. Of course, Phil was punished by night shift.

Polina run into problems with her patients immediately, and was forced to call Kupitman. When she failed to explain just what's wrong with her patient clearly enough for Kupitman to understand, she had an "brilliant" idea: send him photo of patient's organ (ignoring patient's objections). Kupitman, who was in beauty saloon, was forced to rush into hospital to finish examining the patient.

Semyon for whatever reason thinks what he really has a son, and tell others so, which they proceed to celebrate. Meanwhile, Olga revealed to Kisegach what her baby is a girl.

Polina's antics predictably caused patient complaining to Kisegach. She defended her and Kupitman, stating what she simply wanted to consult with her mentor (which convinced him to let them be), but immediately called them out when they were leaved in private. Kupitman, as punishment for allowing all this mess, was denied his money bonus. She allowed Kupitman to chose punishment for Polina himself, since she caused all this mess.

Anton found Gleb and tell him what he agrees to being treated: hallucinations about Grim Reaper don't end, and it long ceased to be funny. But why he sees them, if Phil no longer works with Gleb?

Bykov, realising what Semyon really endangered his relationship with Olga out of his stupidity, went to Olga and tried to defend him, taking all blame for himself and other interns. Meanwhile, Lobanov used intercom to announce about his and Olga's daughter -- and his happiness over this -- to everyone, just in time for Olga to appear and hear it. She forgave him immediately.

When Anton sees "Grim Reaper" again, Gleb realised ''who'' it was -- their janitor Zoya Michailovna, who just noticed this requisite in her storage closet and now searches for it's owner. Unfortunately for Gleb, he was busted when transported it by Bykov, who, predictably, punished him with night shift.

Kupitman remains faithful to his words: he wouldn't leave Polina on night shift. Instead, he forced her to sent that photo of infected penis to Bykov, who did it himself.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* AccidentalHero: Phil's Grim Reaper's guise, while failing (initially) on intended target, actually saved some ''other'' life -- Bykov's [[TheFatalist fatalist patient]] had seen Bykov kicking "Grim Reaper" out and took it as omen what this is not yet her time.
* ExactWords: Kupitman promised to never leave interns on night shift. When he was forced to punish Polina, he ordered her to send that photo of infected penis which caused all the mess in the first place to Bykov, who, predictably, punished her himself.
* TheFatalist: Bykov's patient thinks what her time has come, because she had seen her lat husband in her dream, who "invited" her on the other side, and tries to convince Bykov not to bother with healing her, since it would be "useless anyway". Bykov barely managed to convince her, but then she [[ItMakesSenseInContext seen Phil in Grim Reaper's guise]], and snapped back into her delusion.
* {{Fratbro}}: Gleb's patient Anton is his old friend, who, despite being around thirty, still acts as brainless party-going junkie. This caused him being hospitalised at several times already, including this time (this time because [[TooDumbToLive he broke his arm while trying to use ski lift while high]]).
* {{Gaslighting}}: Rare positive example. Gleb's plan how to snap his junkie friend out of his stupidity is to cause him thinking he started seeing signs of his imminent doom (by sending Phil to impersonate Grim Reaper). At first, plan failed, because Anton was more impressed by "cool" hallucination than scared by the fact what it was Grim Reaper. But when he started seeing it again and again (this time for reasons completely unrelated to Phil and Gleb), he started feeling fear and agreed to being treated.
* TheGrimReaper:
** Phil used this guise to convince Anton to change his ways. While he failed, he accidentally helped other stubborn patient... when Bykov started kicking his ass for this.
** Gleb's patient was finally convinced to change his ways by continuing seeing Grim Reaper. This time, it was completely unrelated to Phil; instead, it was their janitor who did this completely by accident at several occasions.
* HeirClubForMen: Semyon consider female baby to be "defect product", and wants specifically a son. Naturally, Polina, who was presented when he said this, objected; as well as Olga (who actually wanted daughter) when she heard this, too. And indeed, their baby ultimately turns out to be female.
* HeroicSacrifice: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Realising what Lobanov just brought his relationship with Olga on the brink of destruction, Bykov went to Olga and took all blame on himself and other interns, so Olga would be angry at them instead of Semyon. While in this interpretation Semyon started looking like DirtyCoward for not apologising personally, Bykov stated what she expects too much out of him.
* OneDialogueTwoConversations: It took Olga some time to realise what Kisegach was squicked not by prospect of their kids possible falling in love itself (this topic was raised by Olga), but because she thought what they both have sons, while, unknowingly to her, Olga has a ''daughter''. Awkward...
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: Semyon meant nothing bad when he called girls "defect product"; he just didn't think what he just said, and really only tried to assure himself [[HeirClubForMen what he would have a son]].
* StealthInsult: Olga "congratulating" Semyon on [[IronicEcho having "real boy" instead o some "useless girl"]] was obviously sarcastic. After she leaved, Semyon stated what she would likely dump him for this. Even Gleb called him a moron, with which Bykov agreed, while Phil asked why Lobanov even stated this in the first place.
* TooDumbToLive: Anton.
** How he injured his arm in the first place? Because he tried to use ski lift while being high.
** This also applies to his lifestyle in general, since no matter how hard Gleb tries to explain to him what his life as junkie party goer wouldn't end well, he never takes him seriously -- despite being hospitalised several times already.
* WackyCravings: Olga sent Semyon to buy some salted cucumbers... in 4 a.m. Because of this, he couldn't sleep well.
