It is time; Kisegach would give birth today. Fortunately, Bykov already prepared everything; but the same can't be said about Semyon, who only bothered to (re)marry Olga. Meanwhile, Gleb, Semyon and Phil, now full-pledged doctors after finishing their internship, must work for themselves without Bykov's supervision, because he would stay with Anastasia until she gives birth. But each of them has something which concerns them more than their work: Gleb worries about his mother, Phil can't decide wether to stay in Russia or return to USA, and Lobanov outright leaves to Olga.

Kupitman insists on helping Kisegach with delivery, stating that it's really important to him (he can do that, as he has required skills), but Bykov refuses, stating that the whole idea grosses him out, not to mention Kupitman's alcoholism. After being refused thrice, (already drunk) Kupitman tries to ask Kisegach, who outright forbids him to be anywhere close to her during delivery. But now Bykov and Kisegach can't agree on their son's first name -- or, for that matter, which ''last'' name he should inherit, "Kisegach" or "Bykov".

After failing to remind Gleb about his duties, Polina just yells on Gleb, stating that he acts immature, which helps him to get a hold on himself -- and prove that, when properly motivated, he ''can'' be competent. Meanwhile, Phil wastes a whole day trying to find somebody who would actually care about him leaving, but everyone whom he asks says that they're busy. Ultimately, he comes to Kupitman, who never succeed at being accepted as Kisegach's obstetrician, and learns that they have something in common: they both were just forgotten about their friends; a good excuse to drink. In process, Phil realises that he no longer ''wants'' to leave, and decides to stay -- as Kupitman's subordinate, rather than Bykov's.

Olga fears that everyone would heavily celebrate Bykov's son's birth, and would be in bad shape to help Olga herself. But she has a plan how she can give birth earlier -- she and Semyon must have sex; she heard that it may provoke earlier childbirth. Fortunately for Semyon (who vehemently refused it right from the start), they don't even need it: their obstetrician miscalculated, and it seems that Olga would give birth ''today''... which, accidentally, also means that she would share her ward with Kisegach. Bykov, who leaved her for some time, finally arrived... and it turns out that he has plan "B" how to give his son his surname -- he and Kisegach must marry, right now! Olga, meanwhile, gives birth to her daughter... with Semyon, who had seen a whole process, instantly fainting right after seeing his daughter.

"Bykov", with Anastasia insisting on keeping her surname (it's major pain in the ass when mother and child have mismatching surnames).

After failing to remind Gleb about his duties, Polina just yells on at Gleb, stating that he acts immature, which helps him to get a hold on himself -- and prove that, when properly motivated, he ''can'' be competent. * TheAlcoholic: Likely the reason why both Bykov and Kisegach are vehemently against Kupitman helping with delivery: they know he can't remain sober for long, even if he plans to act as obstetrician. Sure enough, after multiple failed attempts to convince Bykov what he may do it (even promising to avoid alcohol for whole week), now wasted Kupitman tried to ask Kisegach -- who "surprisingly" refused.

** It seems that since their obstetrician is busy with Olga, Anastasia can only rely on Kupitman (whom she vehemently refused in the beginning of the episode), who arrived just in time, as if he waited for the right moment... except, no, she still refuses him and insists on going to a "normal" obstetrician (who just finished with Olga, anyway).

Semyon and Gleb each reveals another, smaller one, stating that they just had their daughter/brother being born, too. Phil reveals a bottle, too, but it's just a gift from Kupitman. It is time; Kisegach would give birth today. Fortunately, Bykov already prepared everything... which can't be said about Semyon, who for whatever reason think he still has enough time, and only bothered to officially (re)marry Olga.

Gleb, Semyon and Phil are finally ended their internship and became a full-pledged doctors -- just in time to temporarily replace Bykov, who would stay with Anastasia for whole day. Semyon leaves immediately, being concerned with Olga: they ''still'' didn't finished preparations for her delivery (Semyon [[SkewedPriorities did]], however, bothered to (re)marry her), and now must find something before next week, since Olga fears what everyone would be too drunk to work after celebrating Bykov's son's birth. Only solution she can think of is to somehow give birth earlier.

Kupitman insists on helping Kisegach with delivery, stating what it's really important for him ([[OmnidisciplinaryScientist he has required skills]]), but Bykov vehemently refused, stating what whole idea grosses him out. When Bykov refused him, ''thrice'', he tried to ask Kisegach (while already being drunk). She, predictably, refused to see him even nearby during delivery.

Bykovand Kisegach can't agree on their son's first name -- or, for that matter, which ''last'' name he should have, "Kisegach" or "Bykov".

Gleb is more concerned with his mother's delivery than work, while Phil can't decide wether he must leave since his internship is over, or stay in Russia. So, Polina worries, who would actually ''work''? She tried to remind Gleb about his duties, and when it failed, just plain shouted on him what he acts not as doctor, but as a small child. This actually snapped him out of this, with him realising what, being a doctor, he must act accordingly. And, as it turns out, when properly motivated, he ''can'' act as competent doctor.

Olga had a plan how to give birth earlier -- she and Semyon must have sex, she heard it may provoke earlier childbirth. Fortunately for Semyon (who vehemently refused it right from the start), they don't even need it: their obstetrician miscalculated, and it seems Olga would give birth ''today''... which, accidentally, also means she would share her ward with Kisegach. Bykov, who leaved her for some time, finally arrived... and it turns out he has plan "B" how to give his son his surname -- he and Kisegach must marry! Olga, meanwhile, just gave birth to her daughter... with Semyon, who had seen whole process, instantly fainting once he had seen his daughter.

Phil, who wasted whole day trying to find somebody who would be interested in him leaving (with everyone he asked tell him what they're busy), until Kupitman (who just tried to suggest his candidature as obstetrician for Anastasia again, but was refused) remains the very last one. As it turns out, they have something in common: they're both were just forgotten by their friends; seems like good enough excuse to drink. In the process, Phil realised he no longer ''wants'' to leave. So, he decided to stay, now as Kupitman's subordinate instead of Bykov's.

It works.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* TheAlcoholic: Likely the reason why both Bykov and Kisegach are vehemently against Kupitman helping with delivery: they know he can't remain sober for long, even if he plans to act as obstetrician. Sure enough, after multiple failed attempts to convince Bykov what he may do it (even promising to avoid alcohol for whole week), now wasted Kupitman tried to ask Kisegach -- who "surprisingly" refused.
-->'''Kupitman''': ''"I want to be related to the birth of my best friend's son!"''\\
'''Bykov''': ''"Vanya, you're already related to venereology and [[TheAlcoholic cognac]], and you're great at that! But I can't entrust you with Nastya or my son. Sorry!"''
* BaitAndSwitch:
** It seems what since their obstetrician is busy with Olga, Anastasia can only rely on Kupitman (whom she vehemently refused in the beginning of episode), who arrived just in time, as if he waited for the right moment... except, no, she still refused him and insisted on going to "normal" obstetrician (who just finished with Olga, anyway).
** When Bykov tell what "everyone would receive night shift", at first it looked like yet another KickTheDog moment from his part (he said this just after learning what this was hard day for everyone, and knowing full well why it was)... but then he added "...for me, too; my son just born", and revealed bottle of cognac. Semyon and Gleb each revealed another, smaller one, stating what their daughter/brother, respectively, just had born, too. [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers Phil revealed bottle, too, but it was a gift from Kupitman]]. And they proceed to partying.
* BrickJoke: That woman who registered Semyon's and Olga's marriage? Bykov later invited her to register his marriage with Kisegach... right at the last moment before her delivery. Surprisingly, they managed to finish at last moment.
* BrilliantButLazy: Gleb; we're [[TheSlacker already familiar with "lazy" part]], now it's time to finally see "brilliant" part; as it turns out, when properly motivated (like him being literally only doctor available during crisis situation, unless we count Polina, who's just intern), he can, actually, act like competent doctor.
* CryingWolf: Due to Kisegach thinking what she would give birth, now, at ''many'' occasions, only to be proven false every single time, Bykov didn't believed her at first when it happened for real (in the middle of the night). Montage of previous "false alarms" ensues, with Bykov becoming progressively less and less enthusiastic.
* EveryoneHasStandards: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Woman whom Bykov invited to register his marriage with Kisegach (during her and Olga giving birth, no less), ''tried'' to object to whole idea... until Bykov payed first half of the price in advance, after which she even bothered to put happy smile on her face... which gets replaced with scare when things go ''really'' hard. [[LackOfEmpathy Bykov tell her what if she faints before finishing, he would not pay her second half]].
* FalseReassurance: Bykov started with congratulating interns for finishing internship and becoming full-pledged doctors (sans for Polina, who arrived later and is yet to finish it)... and ended with reminding them what now he can also ''fire'' them if they screw up particularly badly.
-->'''Phil''': ''"Am I the only one who wants to become intern again?"''
* HeelRealization: Kupitman had it under effects of alcohol, realising what everyone brings ''something'' to this world, be it children or interns' training, and only Kupitman does nothing, and would leave nothing. After this, he offered Phil to stay in Russia and become his new protege. Phil accepted.
* IChooseToStay: Initially Phil planned to return home after finally ending his internship, but Kupitman convinced him to stay, as his subordinate.
* NoPreggerSex: Olga [[ItMakesSenseInContext planned to provoke early childbirth]], and, as she heard, sex may help with it. Semyon refused, thinking this is bad idea. Fortunately, it turns out they don't even need it.
* OhCrap: Just when Semyon finally organised everything (by taking VIP ward and elite doctors used by Kisegach, who would give birth week earlier than Olga), Olga realised what in following week everyone would celebrate birth of Bykov's son, meaning they would be too wasted to work.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: It seems, besides being venereologist and gynaecologist, Kupitman is also obstetrician.
* OnlySaneWoman: Polina, of all people. When it turns out what no one besides her and Gleb (who is too nervous due to his mother's delivery to do anything), with only Gleb being actual doctor, she called him out on wasting time and acting like a small child. It worked.
* PanickyExpectantFather: Gleb's mindset in the last hours of his mother's pregnancy; because of it, he was unable to do anything bu sit nearby and waiting in near-catatonia:
-->'''Phil''': ''"Worrying about your mother?"''\\
''Gleb''': ''"I think, even if I would give birth myself it still would be better. I can't think of anything else"''.
* PregnancyMakesYouCrazy: {{Subverted|Trope}}; at first it seemed like Olga's ''really'' sudden decision to have sex with Semyon, here and now, is yet another pregnancy-caused crazyness, but she actually have a plan; she thinks sex may provoke childbirth week earlier (she feared what waiting until next week may be dangerous, due to risks of all personnel being completely drunk due to celebrating Bykov's son delivery). Fortunately, turns out they don't need this, because their obstetrician miscalculated and she would give birth ''today'' (which, accidentally, also means she would share ward with Kisegach).
* SkewedPriorities: Semyon bothered to organise his official (re)marriage with Olga, at expense of something more important ''right now'', like things related to ''actual childbirth''. [[WhatTheHellHero Olga promptly called him out on this]], stating what it could have waited until ''after'' everything is done.
* SmallRoleBigImpact:
** Polina has no big role in this episode, but it was her who snapped Gleb out of his [[PanickyExpectantFather condition]] and forced him to work.
** Kupitman briefly appears three times; first two are more for the gag, but in his third appearance him drinking with Phil was what actually convinced Phil to stay in Russia, despite previously he planned to leave since his internship is over.
* TakeAThirdOption: Bykov dealt with dilemma of which of their surnames their son must use (Kisegach or Bykov) by marrying Kisegach at the very last moment (''during'' delivery, no less), so they would have same surname, removing whole problem.
* TemptingFate: During Olga's delivery, Semyon was presented nearby, looking at whole process with barely contained shock. When obstetrician showed him his newborn daughter and congratulated him on not fainting, he did exactly that, instantly.
