As the runaway hair continues to wreak havoc across the world, Nano and Mimimi fight off the strands on the roof with boxcutters and hairbrushes respectively. Just as they get caught intercepting strands coming after Rentarou, Mei and Shizuka appear in a helicopter, having managed to get to safety due to Shizuka unwittingly giving herself amplified hearing with the rabbit ear drug. Nano and Mimimi beckon Rentarou to board the helicopter alone, which Rentarou does.

As the helicopter flies out of the hair's reach, Rentarou formulates a plan to combat this mess. He instructs Mei to fly back to the school, where Hahari remains barely conscious as she is held prisoner by her own hair. Rentarou jumps into the epicenter of the hair storm, the impact knocking him out long enough to cross paths with the ghost of Hakari's father. When he comes to, he finds Hahari pinned to a wall in a deep sleep. Approaching slowly, he gently kisses her awake, whereupon Hahari breaks down crying at the trouble she caused.

As the hair falls limp, the huge mass gets sucked up into the sky. Rentarou cuts the excess hair loose, causing it to get swallowed by the sun.

Much later, Hahari has shut herself in her room, guilt-ridden about the whole incident. Rentarou comes in, showing her a news report that nobody was injured during the debacle, and also that the excess hair refueled the sun enough to prevent the early Ice Age predicted in the previous chapter, which it turns out was the actual reason for Rentarou's despondence before everything went south.

As Hahari emerges from her funk, the other girls burst into the room to try and do what Rentarou already achieved.
