The forty-first episode of ''WesternAnimation/TaleSpin''.

Baloo, Kit, and Wildcat wind up in the western town of Boomstone while attempting to deliver Carnuvian kumquats. Boomstone is owned by Shere Khan Industries and run by the corrupt Sheriff Gomer Cleghorn, who forces its townsfolk to mine for urgonium, a strange mineral with powerful explosive properties. When Wildcat accidentally causes an explosion with it, the black marks on his face and his dislodged cap cause him to be mistaken for Shere Khan himself by the miners. When the miners hold Wildcat for ransom, Clementine Clevenger calls Shere Khan industries to report the kidnapping, unwittingly getting the real Shere Khan on the line, who soon puts an end to Gomer's corrupt ways.

----

!! This episode provides examples of:

* AbnormalAmmo: In this episode's climax, Kit and Wildcat throw rotten kumquats on Gomer and Wendell, causing them to crash.
* AlliterativeName: '''Cle'''mentine '''Cle'''venger.
* BedsheetLadder: Clementine gets locked in a room by Gomer, leading her to use this to get out, saying [[SawItInAMovieOnce it always works in the movies]]. Unfortunately, the knot at the end came loose, causing her to fall to the ground while saying "So much for the movies!".
* BigEntrance: Shere Khan is very fond of these, and this episode has a great example; his plane appears with ominous music, the door opens and he emerges from the shadows. The reaction of Gomer and his BumblingSidekick is OhCrap.
* BodyDouble: In this episode, it's claimed that Wildcat is "virtually identical" to Shere Khan once he's dressed properly. To the audience, this is an InformedAttribute, but it seems to be true in-universe for almost everybody. Khan himself, however, is rather... unimpressed.
* BratsWithSlingshots: Wendell uses a slingshot armed with Urgonium to shoot at one of the Sea Duck's engines to bring it down.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint:
** When Gomer asks Wildcat if he'd like to play pool (as part of his plan to blow him up with Urgonium), Wildcat tells him he'd love to, but he didn't bring his bathing suit.
** When Baloo asks Wildcat, who is reading magazine, if he can determine the problem (referring to the Sea Duck's engine), Wildcat tells him "Yeah, I read this one already".
* CompanyTown: This episode takes place in a small western mining town occupied solely by Khan Industries employees and a service establishment provider. The mine workers are stuck in indentured servitude, but this is because of the overseers (who are also robbing Khan) and Khan himself puts a stop to their theft and slave labor as soon as he finds out what's going on and visits the town.
* CowboyEpisode: In this episode, Baloo is forced to work in the Boomstone mine for six months when he is charged with speeding, littering, and resisting arrest over the Boomstone city limits by Sheriff Gomer.
* DamselOutOfDistress: Clementine gets locked up by Gomer after calling Khan, but quickly gets out by fashioning a bedsheet rope.
* DrillTank: When he gets trapped in the mine with Baloo and Kit, Wildcat invents this to escape.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Shere Khan avoids intentionally hurting others because he knows it's bad for business.
-->'''Clementine:''' So you never told the sheriff to mistreat the miners?\\
'''Shere Khan:''' My dear, I desire only money and power. Unpresentable employees provide me with neither.
* EvilDuo: Sheriff Gomer and Deputy Wendell are this episode's antagonists, forcing the miners to mine for urgonium.
* FatAndSkinny: Gomer and Wendell have this respective dynamic.
* LackOfEmpathy: While Khan takes no pleasure in the suffering of the mine workers, seeing their plight doesn't raise any ''compassion'' in him either, only disapproving because it's bad for business, suggesting he only sees others as tools for making money, nothing else. Clementine Clevenger finds this even more disturbing than Gomer's outright sadism.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Gomer and Wendell are defeated by having their plane's propeller jammed. They then crash in the distance, igniting the Urgonium that they were carrying. They somehow survive and are forced to work in the mine as punishment by Shere Khan.
* LockedInARoom: Gomer does this to Clementine after finding out that she called Shere Khan industries.
* MeanBoss: Khan is implied to be this, judging from this line when he gets a phone call from Clementine late at night:
-->'''Khan''': ''(sigh)'' This will teach me to let my employees go home after a mere sixteen hour workday.
* NobleDemon: Although Khan is merciless and occasionally ruthless, he has a strict moral code of repaying his debts, and generally acts out of business interests and monetary gain rather than ForTheEvulz. In this episode, he remarks the he only cares about "money and power," and he's well-aware that being evil for evil's sake is the fastest way to lose those things.
* PetTheDog: After Baloo helps Khan uncover the Urgonium subterfuge, Khan returns the favor by reimbursing him for his kumquats.
* PolicePig: Gomer is the Sheriff of Boomtown who is anthropomorphic pig, and he uses crooked business practices to keep his position as sheriff.
* PopCulturePunEpisodeTitle: This episode's title is a reference to the 1941 film, ''Film/CitizenKane''.
* SmallTownTyrant: Gomer lives up to the stereotypical corrupt hick that rule a southern town with an iron fist.
* SmugSnake: Gomer has let power get over his head. He at least takes some measures to prevent Khan from finding out, but ultimately fails to stop Clementine from ratting them out.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Gomer and Wendell's plot is exposed thanks to Clementine's involvement, by making Khan aware of the situation.
* TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity: When Gomer mistakes Wildcat for Shere Khan, Baloo takes advantage of this as part of his plan to escape from Boomstone.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: While not as outwardly intimidating as Khan, Gomer is a dark and serious villain as far as the show goes. He even alludes that people have died trying to mine the Urgonium.
* AWayOutOfaCaveIn: Gomer and Wendell trap Baloo and Kit in the mine where the miners are holding Wildcat for ransom, believing him to be Shere Khan. Wildcat manages to build a DrillTank to escape from the mine.
