Tails, Knuckles and Amy are playing cards in Tails' House when Sonic bursts in excitedly, showing them what he found at the flea market: ''Tomatopotamus 2'', a video game they loved when they were younger, causing much rejoicing. When Amy wonders why they stopped playing it, Tails explains that there was a mass recall of the cartridges in order to melt them down because their microchips were made of Sparcium, a rare alloy more valuable than the cartridges themselves. The four launch a game in competitive mode. Undefeated, Sonic gloats that he's the master of the game, and says he'll buy chili dogs for everyone if he loses. Meanwhile, Eggman is working on his newest robot created to kill Sonic: the eponymous [=FiendBot=]. He's big, strong, covered in missile launchers, and being programmed with data and recordings of Sonic in action from previous episodes to make him able to predict Sonic's actions.

Back at Tails' House, the fox is eliminated from play, quickly followed by Amy (despite her attempting to say that girls are good at games, too). The duel between Sonic and Knuckles lasts 14 hours and 27 levels, and ends with Knuckles' victory (but only because the last level was an aquatic level, triggering Sonic's fear of water). As Knuckles gloats like hell, Sonic angrily goes to buy the team chili dogs. Meanwhile, Eggman finishes loading [=FiendBot=] with data and decides it's time to take him to the Village Center for a test drive.

At Meh Burger, Sonic is buying the chili dogs as promised when he gets attacked by Eggman and [=FiendBot=], and sure enough, [=FiendBot=]'s absolute knowledge and predictions of Sonic's actions works well. ''Too'' well, actually-- eventually, he sees Sonic put the fight aside and endanger himself to rescue civilians. [=FiendBot=] starts analyzing this new data and comes to a conclusion: "Sonic not enemy. Sonic... friend?" Believing he's only kidding, Eggman nervously tries to get him to attack Sonic again, but a missile salvo from his now-former minion makes him run away. A bit confused by what happened, Sonic thanks him for not killing him, then tries to go back to Tails' House... but [=FiendBot=] starts to follow him like a lost puppy (complete with [[PuppyDogEyes the eyes]]), and he has to tell him not to, because he knows his friends won't be fans of the idea of an Eggman robot befriending him.

Sonic returns to Tails' House and hands over the chili dogs as Knuckles continues to bask in his victory when there's a sudden loud thudding outside. Knowing all too well what that means, Sonic attempts to keep them from going outside, but soon, they see [=FiendBot=] and try to attack; stopping them, Sonic is forced to tell them what happened, and as he figured, they're skeptical that a robot of Eggman covered in missile launchers and named '''Fiend'''Bot has pulled a HeelFaceTurn. Sonic, while admitting the name is a bit harsh and suggesting to re-baptize him '''Friend'''Bot, comes to the robot's defense, saying that he could have easily destroyed him at any time and asking them to give him a chance, which they begrudgingly do. Meanwhile, at Eggman's base, the scientist, furious that [=FiendBot=]'s sentience was ultimately detrimental for him, makes a second attempt, this time with a massive cannon programmed with Sonic's data like the robot that was formerly his, but without the sentience.

At Tails' House, the rest of the team waits anxiously inside as Tails tries to repair [=FriendBot=] outside. The fox returns with bad news: [=FriendBot=]'s AI processor is destroyed, and the good news is that he can replace it. But more bad news: Eggman made the old processor out of Sparcium, meaning that in order to create a new one, they'll have to sacrifice their ''Tomatopotamus 2'' cartridge. Knuckles is at first reluctant to give up the proof of his triumph over Sonic, but quickly concedes; the cartridge is destroyed, the repair succeeds, and [=FriendBot=] is restored. While the team is happy to see their friend saved, Sonic says that he can't live with them because he's too big to fit in any of their houses. But a solution is found: [=FriendBot=] will live in the Valley of the Cubots. He'll have all the space he needs, the Cubots will have a protector in case Eggman comes back for them, and it's close enough that the team can regularly visit him or he can come to their help (he has his own Communicator now). The episode ends on an aww-worthy group hug (and [=FriendBot=] promising to remember Knuckles is the ''Tomatopotamus'' champion upon his prompting).

Tails, Knuckles and Amy are playing cards in her home, when Sonic bursts in excitedly, showing them what he found at the flea market: ''Tomatopotamus 2'', a video game they loved when they were younger, causing much rejoicing. When Amy wonders why they stopped playing it, Tails explains that there was a mass recall of the cartridges because their processors were made of Sparsium, a rare and extremely valuable alloy. The four launch a game in competitive mode. Sonic gloats that he's the master of the game, and says he'll pay chili dogs for everyone if he loses.

Meanwhile, Eggman is working on his new robot supposed to kill Sonic: the eponymous Fiendbot. Big, strong, covered in missile launchers, and being programmed with datas and recordings of all previous episodes to make him able to predict Sonic's actions.

Back at Amy's house, Tails is eliminated from play, quickly followed by Amy. The duel between Sonic and Knuckles lasts 14 hours and 27 levels, and ends with Knuckles' victory (the last level was an aquatic level, triggering Sonic's fear). As Knuckles gloats like hell, Sonic angrily goes to buy the chili dogs. On the way back, he gets attacked by Eggman and Fiendbot. And Fiendbot's absolute knowledge and predictions of Sonic's actions works well.

''TOO'' well, actually. As he sees Sonic put the fight aside (and endanger himself) to rescue civilians, Fiendbot starts analyzing these new data, and comes to this conclusion: "Sonic not enemy. Sonic... friend?" Eggman angrily tries to get him back to attack, but a missile salvo makes him run away. A bit confused by what happened, Sonic goes back to Amy's house... And Fiendbot follows him.
When Sonic tells them what happened, they're skeptical that a robot of Eggman, covered in missile launchers and called '''Fiend'''bot has pulled a HeelFaceTurn. Sonic defends the robot and gets the team to give him a chance, but admits the name is a bit harsh and suggests to rebaptize him '''Friend'''bot.

At Eggman's base, the scientist, furious, makes a second attempt, this time with a massive cannon programmed like the former Fiendbot, but without the sentience.

We then cut to a montage of Team Sonic and their new companion doing volleyball, video games and dancing... And each time, Friendbot's size and strength cause problems. Because of this, he doesn't get much love from Tails, Knuckles and Amy. They later go at Meh Burgers, and get attacked by Eggman with a massive army of basic bots, Obliterator Bot and Mega Bot. The battle begins. Friendbot makes short work of Mega Bot and Obliterator Bot, impressing Tails and Amy, but angering Knuckles who sees his place as the strong guy of the team jeopardized.

The battle suddenly takes a turn for the worse when the cannon attacks Sonic. The Blue Blur is quickly trapped and at the non-existent mercy of the killing machine, but Friendbot takes the shot and lifelessly collapses, at the horror of the Team, and especially of Knuckles who admits that Sonic was right about him since the beginning. After that, the cannon doesn't last long against the wrath of our heroes, and Eggman is sent packing again.

Tails tries to repair Friendbot. Bad news: the AI processor is destroyed. Good news: Tails can replace it. Bad news: it will need Sparsium, meaning sacrificing the Tomatopotamus 2 cartridge. Knuckles is at first reluctant to give up the proof of his triumph over Sonic, but quickly concedes. The repair works, and Friendbot is restored.

Cue montage: Amy attempts to teach Bea a trick involving catching a hoop, which fails; she takes her for a walk around the village at which point Bea fires upon Lady Walrus' puppy and is subsequently leashed; she tries the hoop trick again to no avail; she asks Bea to play dead in front of Sonic, and Bea ''explodes''; she takes Bea to Tails to get her fixed up, much to her joy; and finally, she tries the hoop trick again, only this time, Bea finally catches it.

Meanwhile, Eggman is exercising... for the brief period until he gets tired. Unfortunately, he notices Amy run past with Bea. Amy tries to tell him that Bea is a wild Bee Bot (a poor excuse, for obvious reasons), but Eggman is not fooled and tries to activate a homing device. This fails, so Eggman tries to use a passcode to override Bea, much to the horror of Amy and Bea, but he gets it wrong many times despite trying many passcodes and expresses his frustration over complicated passcodes and having to change it every six months. This eventually leads to him getting locked out from it, angering him further.

Concerned over her new pet's safety, Amy tries to get the Gogoba Chief to hide Bea, and the chief accepts, but at Eggman's lair, Eggman figures out how to get his passcode to work again, thanks to customer service. Now that the evil scientist has his security troubles in order, he activates the override code. As Amy watches, Bea suddenly goes haywire and escapes after the chief opens the tent to investigate the noise, and Amy calls him out for letting her escape.

At Amy's house, Amy is crying over the loss of her pet. Knuckles pities Amy and puts a party hat on her (which doesn't help). Sonic and company try to cheer Amy up, but the cupcakes they make for her burn because they're all horrible cooks, and the scrapbook has less success. Seeing that desperate times call for desperate measures, Sonic begrudgingly tries to get Amy to talk about their feelings, and it actually begins to work until they hear Eggman is attacking.

When they get outside, Eggman demands that Knuckles give back the Fregosi Sapphire (which he's named "Herman" and is taking care of as if it's his own son) and sics the Bee Bots on Team Sonic. Amy prevents her team from fighting the Bee Bots, worried that one of them might be Bea. This wrinkle allows Eggman to nail Knuckles to the outside of Amy's house and take the Sapphire, and he reveals that he plans to supercharge Mega Bot with it so that Eggman will be invincible. Eggman escapes with his Bee Bots, and Sonic is determined to stop Eggman from installing the Sapphire into Mega Bot, mobilizing the team into getting it back; however, Amy sits this one out, certain Eggman will exploit her love for Bea to give himself the upper hand, and allows the others to do what they have to in order to stop him, even if that includes destroying Bea, while telling them she can't be part of it (though Knuckles spoils the moment with a badly-timed bee pun).

At Eggman's lair, Eggman installs the Sapphire into Mega Bot, and it begins firing giant lasers in its supercharged state. Sonic and his team arrive too late to stop Eggman (though Sonic refuses to believe the possibility of himself ever being late unless it's of the fashionable kind), but they decide to fight the supercharged Mega Bot anyway... and, of course, fail miserably as Mega Bot counters them at every turn. Back at Amy's house, while reminiscing about the good times she had with Bea by flipping through her scrapbook, Amy notices a picture with Bea and the hoop, which gives her an idea.

Back at Eggman's lair, Mega Bot continues to effortlessly curb stomp the remainder of Team Sonic when Amy rejoins them, hoop in hand. Eggman teasingly asks Amy if she is looking for her pet and calls his Bee Bots. Sonic wonders how they're going to identify Bea if she looks the same as the other Bee Bots (which Knuckles scolds him for, seeing it as an offensive statement). Amy throws the hoop, and Bea breaks away from the other Bee Bots to catch it. She lifts Amy into the air, and the two are happy to be reunited. This allows Sonic and his team to easily destroy the rest of the Bee Bots, with Sonic making a pun, but Eggman calls Sonic and his team out for thinking it was going to be easy and orders Mega Bot to blast Bea out of the sky, which it does with ease. Amy lands on the ground, and she is ''livid''. She charges at Mega Bot and hits it repeatedly with her hammer, each strike fueled by pure rage; witnessing this, Eggman admits that destroying Bea was a mistake on his part.

Jarred by the repeated heavy hits, the Fregosi Sapphire eventually falls loose, a piece chipping off as it hits the ground. Knuckles embraces his Sapphire, Tails grabs the broken-off piece, and Mega Bot loses its power, opening a window for Tails to tie it up with his Enerbeam and thus allowing Sonic to destroy its head with a spin attack. Unfortunately, this from-behind victory comes as little comfort to Amy, who runs to and sobs over Bea's inactive body.

But there ''is'' a happy ending to this story. At his workshop, as the others watch, Tails repairs Bea yet again, installing the Sapphire piece and then spray-painting her with pink paint to differentiate her from Eggman's Bee Bots more clearly. Bea tackles Amy with happiness, and Tails comments that Bea is stronger than before with the Sapphire piece inside her as Knuckles reassures his Sapphire that scars look cool.

After this heartwarming reunion, Amy finishes her scrapbook using a picture of the moment and puts a picture of that scrapbook in her scrapbook of her favorite scrapbooks at her house, then calls for Bea to follow her outside. And so ends a heartwarming episode.

Back at Eggman's lair, Mega Bot continues to effortlessly curb stomp
former Fiendbot, but without the remainder sentience.

We then cut to a montage
of Team Sonic when Amy rejoins them, hoop in hand. Eggman teasingly asks Amy if she is looking for her pet and calls his Bee Bots. Sonic wonders how they're going to identify Bea if she looks the same as the other Bee Bots (which their new companion doing volleyball, video games and dancing... Amy throws the hoop, and Bea breaks away from the other Bee Bots to catch it. She lifts Amy into the air, Amy. They later go at Meh Burgers, and the two are happy to be reunited. This allows Sonic and his team to easily destroy the rest of the Bee Bots, with Sonic making a pun, but get attacked by Eggman calls Sonic with a massive army of basic bots, Obliterator Bot and his team out for thinking it was going to be easy and orders Mega Bot to blast Bea out Bot. She charges at Mega Bot and hits it repeatedly with her hammer, each strike fueled by pure rage; witnessing this, Eggman Obliterator Bot, impressing Tails and Amy, but angering Knuckles who sees his place as the strong guy of the team jeopardized.

The battle suddenly takes a turn for the worse when the cannon attacks Sonic. The Blue Blur is quickly trapped and at the non-existent mercy of the killing machine, but Friendbot takes the shot and lifelessly collapses, at the horror of the Team, and especially of Knuckles who
admits that destroying Bea Sonic was a mistake on his part.

* WhosOnFirst: This exchange when Amy and Bea arrive at Meh Burger:
-->'''Amy:''' Way to make a couple of girls feel welcome!\\
'''Sonic:''' What girls? You're toting a Bee Bot!\\
'''Amy:''' You mean Bea?\\
'''Sticks:''' That's what he said. Bee!\\
'''Amy:''' Bea! [[DontExplainTheJoke Like in "Beatrice!"]] Get it? It's simple, that's why it's so clever.\\
(''Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Sticks all mumble unimpressed.'')\\
'''Amy:''' I ''said'', "It's ''clever''"!\\
(''Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Sticks all mumble in agreement.'')
