* IFellForHours: Downplayed. Firstly, there is no way that Samosa would be able to pull off a moonwalk dance mid-dive, partially due to how fast he would fall. Secondly, when Vada dives, there are several changes in camera from him to his friends, giving the feeling that the fall is unrealistically long.

* PaperThinDisguise: The boxes Samosa, Vada, and Jalebi use to hide themselves all have symbols printed on them which resemble who's using them - Samosa's box has a brown triangle, Vada's box has an orange donut shape, and Jalebi's box has a swirl just like the one on her head. The uncanny resemblance does not catch anyone's attention.

"Chutney Dam" is the second episode of the Indian animated series ''Animation/SimpleSamosa''.

Samosa and his friends are relaxing near a lake of chutney next to Chatpata Nagar's local Chutney Dam. Vada, who is jumping into the chutney to swim around, is inspired by Samosa's exaggerated story about how he jumped into the lake from the top of the dam, and tries to do the same. The others panic and try to get him to come down. He does... by jumping from the dam and into the lake. Thankfully, he is fine.

Vada's dive gives Samosa the idea for he and his friends to try jumping from the dam as well, and it eventually escalates into a diving contest where most of the townspeople are enjoying themselves. After the contest is over, everyone except for Dhokla has jumped into the dam, and he is reluctant to do so.

The next day, Samosa, Jalebi, and Vada wake up to find that the town's chutney supply has disappeared, and Mayor Royal Falooda and the other townsfolk believe that they've stolen the chutney. Samosa and his friends hide themselves under boxes and try to find Dhokla, but he's not at home. They notice something over at the Chutney Dam and try to sneak over there, but they trip over a rock and are exposed by Cham Cham, causing the townsfolk to chase after them.

When they make it to the Chutney Dam, they find that Dhokla has expanded in size and turned green. Dhokla explains that he made a dip in the lake and absorbed all the chutney. Meanwhile, the angry townsfolk catch up with Samosa and the gang, and Samosa wards them off by squeezing Dhokla and squirting some chutney out for them. By the next day, the town's chutney supply has been restored and Samosa, Jalebi, and Vada thank Dhokla (who has been connected to a factory supplying the chutney and is having said liquid pumped out of him) for saving them from an attack from the townsfolk.

!!"Chutney Dam" contains the following tropes:
* DisneyDeath: Vada, upon jumping into the lake from the Chutney Dam for the first time, doesn't surface from the lake for a few seconds, which leaves his friends worried. He turns out to be perfectly fine.
* ExactWords: Samosa, Jalebi, and Dhokla warn Vada to come down from the dam. Vada takes this as "come down from the dam ''by making the dive''".
* FacelessMasses: The crowd around Mayor Royal Falooda when he is explaining the missing chutney supply to them is drawn in less detail.
* MistakenForThief: Samosa and his friends are blamed for the mysterious disappearance of the chutney. The townsfolk are technically not that far off, since Dhokla absorbed it all - but even then it was still an accident.
* MobileShrubbery: Samosa, Jalebi, and Vada hide in boxes to keep them from being noticed by the townsfolk. It works until they trip over a rock and are noticed by Cham Cham.
* ModestyTowel: Cham Cham is wearing a towel for the entire episode, suggesting he was trying to take a shower when the chutney supply disappeared.
* NewhartPhonecall: When Mayor Royal Falooda has a conversation over the phone, we can only hear him.

The uncanny resemblance does not catch anyone's attention.
* ThePlace: The episode is named after the Chutney Dam where Samosa and his friends are hanging out.
