* MythologyGag: Fred Flintstone mentions how great a pal Barney Rubble is, but he can't stand the fact that he swipes his breakfast cereal, a nod to the Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles cereal commercials.

A stone age time machine accidentally brings the gang to the past. While they wait for a time machine that can send them forward in time, they meet up with WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones and then go to an opera which has proven to be the hunting grounds of a prehistoric ghost.

!!This comic includes examples of the following tropes:
* AccidentalTruth: Fred Flintstone, wanting to play bowling rather than watch some opera, makes up a story about the opera house being haunted. The place turns out to be [[ScoobyDooHoax "haunted"]] by a CorruptCorporateExecutive who needs the land to build a mall.
* BreadEggsBreadedEggs: Fred Flintstone admits the opera's not so bad when a little bowling is mixed in. Wilma suggests that next time they go out, they can sing opera at the bowling alley.
* ChekhovsGag: The only time Bamm-Bamm uses his MetronomicManMashing after doing it to Shaggy early on is to the Phantom of the Operrock at the climax.
* ChekhovsGun: Fred Flintstone smuggles his bowling ball to the opera house, hoping to sneak out with Barney to go bowling. It ends up being used to stop Flint Pumice from escaping.
* ChekhovsNews: The newspaper features an article with Flint Pumice on it, who ends up being the story's villain.
* GilliganCut: Despite Fred Flintstone's loud declaration that they are not going to the opera, the very next panel after that declaration has them at the opera house.
* HopeSpot: The Great Gazoo appears towards the end of the comic and sends them ten thousand years in the future. This causes them to end up in the Jetsons' time instead, ending the story on a {{Cliffhanger}}.
* LookBehindYou: After being caught, the villain uses the "look over there" trick to escape, prompting Daphne to comment that she "knew that trick was old, but this is ridiculous".
* MistakenForAnImposter: Wilma assumes that the Phantom of the Operrock is another of Fred Flintstone's ploys to get out of the opera. It's only when he and Barney appear behind her that she realizes that it wasn't him.
* MythologyGag: Fred Flintstone mentions how great a pal Barney Rubble is, but he can't stand the fact that he swipes his breakfast cereal, a nod to the Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles cereal commercials.
* OneSteveLimit: Since there are two Freds in this story, Fred Flintstone and his contemporaries call Fred Jones "other Fred".
* WaxingLyrical: One for the Flintstones theme. As Fred Flintstone's about to run from the Phantom of the Operrock, he says "Let's get outta here -- courtesy of our two feet!"
* YouMeddlingKids: After being defeated by Bamm-Bamm, Flint Pumice says he would have gotten away with it "if not for that meddling, incredibly strong baby!"
