* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: This episode ends with Jack suffering what seems to be another decent towards the DespairEventHorizon after he kills one of the daughters. Unfortunately, the preview (where he gives the others a chance to back off) seem to suggest he recovers pretty quick.

* TalkingToHimself: Aku is undergoing "therapy" sessions, which consist of him talking to a clone of himself that talks, acts, and is dressed like TheShrink.

* InternalReveal: Jack learns that his new pursuers are human and not another round of Aku's androids, [[SlashedThroat in the most cruel way possible]].

** During the mausoleum scene, Jack grabs the weapon of the King/Warlord/General at the center of the crypt. In another story, an ancestral weapon falling into the hands of a hero during their DarkestHour would be their salvation. Instead, it breaks after a few hits.

* RuleOfSymbolism: The wolf vs. the alien tigers parallels Jack's struggle: a lone wolf against multiple, powerful foes. In the end, Jack is gravely wounded after killing one Daughter of Aku, and we see that the wolf was mortally wounded after killing the alien tigers.

* ConservationOfNinjutsu: Averted, the Daughters are manageable when there is one or two but Jack can't land a hit when they gang up on him.
