!!Try and Try Again
The kids want to send Jet 2 to Mars, but struggle to find the right wheels for him to be able to rove on the surface of said planet.
----
* BalloonBurstingBird: The kids experiment to see if Jet 2 can move while holding balloons. Unfortunately, some birds come and pop the balloons.
* {{Determinator}}: The overall theme of the episode is to keep trying even when you fail. The kids fail numerous times, but figuring out what didn't work helped them figure out what ''did'' work. Jet even sings his "Try Again" song.
* DogsHateSquirrels: Cody, who is strapped to Mitchell's scooter, chases after Floyd, enabling Mitchell to "fly like the wind".
* HumanTrafficJam: The kids are walking home and Jet suddenly gets an idea, which makes him stop and causes the others to fall like dominoes.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: Perfectly showcased with Mitchell. He arrives with his new scooter. He smugly, confidently expects the others to ask what's new. When Mindy states that he got a new scooter, and she and the others actually go to see it, Mitchell gets nervous.
* InstantlyProvenWrong:
** "Our new Mars rover, in perfect condition!" Immediately afterwards, Jet 2 falls over.
** "See what happens when we make a plan? We can't fail! (Jet 2 crashes) Okay, we failed."
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: Mitchell wears Mindy's sparkly unicorn helmet with pride. Not once does he look disgusted by it.
* OhCrap: Jet 2 has this reaction when he's about to made into a unicycle.
* OneWheeledWonder: The kids try to put one wheel on Jet 2, but it doesn't work. The episode also shows Bergs riding a Penny Farthing bicycle.
* RollerbladeGood: Jet used Jet 2's wheels to make ''squirrel roller-skates''.
* SplitScreen: Used to show Beep on Earth and Boop on Mars, and how Boop moves slowly on the rocky surface of Mars.
* StatusQuoIsGod: The kids fix up Mitchell's scooter with wider wheels, but in later episodes, Mitchell's scooter still has its old wheels.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck:
-->'''Jet 2''': Uh oh, oh no!
* TodayXTomorrowTheWorld: Parodied. The kids want Jet 2 to be their Mars rover. So they make a 'Mars Yard' in their backyard and put some wheels onto Jet 2 in order to see if he can balance on the rocky surface of Mars. It succeeds, and Jet proclaims "Today, our Mars Yard. Tomorrow, Mars!". However, Celery pulls up with the minivan so they can go to Mars today.
* TookALevelInKindness: Mitchell is a complete sweetheart in this episode. Not once does he make a snarky comment or do anything underhanded, in contrast to most of his appearances. This causes a pretty harsh whiplash with the episode directly below.

!!Racing on Sunshine
It's time for the annual kid-kart derby, but this time, the karts have to be solar-powered.
----
* AnAesop:
** Don't be overconfident.
** Be prepared.
* AttentionWhore: ''Mitchell''. He arrives to the derby with a smug look on his face, and boasts about how he was 'ready to retire'. No one buys it.
* TheBigRace: Essentially the same plot as "Kid-Kart Derby", but Sydney, Sean, and Mindy are involved, and in this episode, the kids have to design solar-powered karts.
* BinocularShot: Mitchell's binoculars put a focus on Mindy when she mentions that it's good to plan ahead, which is {{Foreshadowing}}.
* BlankBook: Sean pulls out his "Big Book of the Sun", but to his surprise, it has nothing in it except "Need more information."
* TheCameo: Lillian makes a cameo in the crowd.
* CassandraTruth: Subverted. Normally, Mitchell would be right about Jet using alien technology, but this time, Jet didn't. He just used a battery, much to Mitchell's shock.
* ContinuityNod: The episode takes place one year after "Kid-Kart Derby".
* DeadpanSnarker: Sean gives us this gem:
-->'''Sean''': Well, would you look at that? ''Clouds!'' [[SarcasmMode Who would've thought they'd appear?]]
* DeusExMachina: Towards the end of the race, the clouds cover the sun, and all the karts are stuck. Just then, Mindy hovers by and tells Jet to use the battery.
* EgocentricTeamNaming: Jet names his and Mindy's team "Team Jet-Mindy". Mindy wants to change it to "Team Mindy-Jet". Jet doesn't like that quite as much.
* {{Eyedscreen}}: Used when the camera does a closeup on Mitchell's eyes during the race.
* GroupHug: Jet, Sean, Sydney, Mindy, and Sunspot share one at the end of the episode when they win.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Mitchell, big time, to the point where it causes a severe whiplash between how he acts in this episode and his kindness in "Try and Try Again". Before the race starts, Mitchell boasts that he was "[[BlatantLies ready to retire]]", but Cody convinced him to race again. Needless to say, the other racers weren't amused.
* IWorkAlone: Mitchell keeps on rejecting help from Jet, though it's not because he hates him and more because he's confident he'll win the race. Ultimately, this leads to his downfall.
* LionKingLift: Jet stands on top of his roof and lifts solar panels up towards the sun.
* NeverMyFault: The kids have to design solar-powered karts for the annual kid-kart derby. During the race, it gets cloudy. Jet and Sydney have batteries installed in their kid-karts so they can use the sun's energy later, but three-time champion Mitchell got too overconfident in winning the race, and did not think to use the battery. He ends up coming in at 3rd place, and he blames the clouds blocking the sun instead of his own carelessness.
* {{Pride}}: Mitchell, the three-time kid kart derby champion, rejects help from Jet because he is sure that he will win. His overconfidence causes him to not think and forget to install a battery in his solar-powered kid-kart, and he ends up losing the derby because of it.
* SequelEpisode: To "[[Recap/ReadyJetGoS1E16SolarSystemBakeOffKidKartDerby Kid-Kart Derby]]".
* ShoutOut: The episode's title is a reference to "Walking on Sunshine" by Music/KatrinaAndTheWaves.
* SlaveToPR: Mitchell wants to keep up his reputation as the kid-kart derby champion and will do anything to keep that title. However, his pride and confidence get the better of him when he neglects to add batteries to his kid-kart for use when the sun is covered up by the clouds. He loses the derby and blames it on the sun.
