* CannotTalkToWomen: Mildly, but the Navy officers on the sub have a notable stunned reaction to Abby stepping onboard. Given that historically women haven't been permitted to be stationed on submarines, and they've previously been deployed for some time, Abby might literally be the first woman they've seen in a while. They get over it quickly, at least.

* InterserviceRivalry: Pretty clear one crops up between the ARC and the Navy. The sub captain is reluctant to let the ARC team on board and dislikes their involvement, but is reasonable at least and its clear at least part of it is just simply frustration at how little they're informing them about it. The Admiral takes it even further, with almost his first words being to question if the ARC team know what they're doing, making sexist YouGetMeCoffee demands of Jess, and is generally dismissive of what he perceives as the ARC team's soft hands approach to the anomaly problem (as he thinks simply nuking them would be suffice). And that's ''before'' he tries to have the anomaly in the ocean nuked.

* ScientistVsSoldier: A version of this happens after the submarine gets pulled through the anomaly. The Admiral thinks they can get rid of the anomaly by hitting it with a nuke. While Lester isn't a scientist, he rightfully argues that setting off a nuke in prehistoric times could end the world as they know it.

* StayInTheKitchen: Though not overly called out, the Royal Navy's historical sexism is well represented, between the Admiral assuming Jess is a secretary and requesting she make him coffee to the officers on the sub reaction with shock at Abby being onboard, though the crew at least get over it pretty quickly without comment.
* PapaWolf: Mildly, but Lester appears visibly annoyed when the admiral tells Jess YouGetMeCoffee, and even intervenes to redirect this to the Admiral's own entourage, while ordering for himself and Jess too.

Added DiffLines:

When a nuclear submarine encounters an anomaly in the North Sea, the team is brought aboard to help close it. The team have to deal with a dinosaur inside the sub, and a pod of marine reptiles outside.

----

* FromBadToWorse: And how! First, the theropod dinosaur wakes up and starts killing crewmembers. Then, the sub is attacked by a Liopleurodon, knocking out the captain, and disabling the ability to steer, ''then'', the sub gets sucked into the anomaly where a whole pod of Liopleurodons are waiting. Think it can't get any worse? '''Then''' the irate admiral orders a nuke to be fired at the anomaly, threatening to drastically alter the timeline should it go off in the Jurassic. It's certainly never a dull day for the ARC team.
* InformedSpecies: Official material claims that the swimming theropod is a ''Eustreptospondylus'', despite the creature itself looking more like a raptor of some kind.
* JerkassHasAPoint: While nuking the past is certainly the wrong way to fix the problem, the Admiral isn't wrong that if another country's sub were to disappear through the anomaly, it's almost certain that they'll place the blame on the United Kingdom.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: Against Lester's urging, the Minister goes ahead with the Admiral's plan to fire a nuclear missile at the anomaly.
