As the group makes their way out of the castle they pass by Derpy Hooves, the eternal prisoner of the castle. They take one look at the poor pegasus and decide to help her. As they tell her of their plans to defeat Discord with the elements she shows to their shock, that she has awakened to the Element of Loyalty. She tells them that during the previous nightfall, she saw Traitor Dash flying around yelling at something to leave her alone. Traitor Dash then came down to ask Derpy what she would do if forced to make a choice between which of her daughters to save. The answer brings Traitor Dash to tears and tells Derpy that she is very loyal, awaking her to Loyalty. Twilight is stunned by the resolve of Derpy, how she was able to see a light at the end of the long, dark, tunnel. Unfortunately, the Magical Blackbirds that torment the pegasus aren't quite ready to see her leave. After multiple attempts to get rid of them fails, Twilight comes up with a plan to send them to a place the birds can't fallow them from. After checking to see how everyone is, they get on Spike to head over to Sweet Rock Acres.
