Peg, Cat, and Big Dog are playing in the garden while Peg keeps score with bar graphs. They are playing wacky games such as "shoop-a-dooping" (which is sort of like juggling), "ka-borphing" (hopping on one foot with the tongue sticking out) and "crackulating" (making Peg laugh with their tails). Big Dog cannot shoop-a-doop but he is good at ka-borphing and while he cannot technically crackulate because his tail is too short, he excels at making Peg laugh in other ways.

Peg starts to sing the Problem Solved song[[note]] She believed the problem was Big Dog not being able to crackulate and it was solved because he made her laugh in other ways.[[/note]], but notices Cat seems a bit off: his ears are droopy, he cries briefly, he way less enthusiastic, and he only sings two words of the song.

As the Neighbor Ladies jog past, Peg is concerned and sings about how "something's up with Cat". The Neighbor Ladies suggest that he exercise to cheer up, along with Ramone and Pig. It works at first, but Cat becomes gloomy again when Big Dog joins in and is praised at his skill.

The Neighbor Ladies worry that Cat is getting sick and Peg puts him to bed and reads him Puss in Boots. When Big Dog pretends to be Puss, Cat loses interest in the story, which is very out-of-character for him so Peg "totally freaks out", but this time, it is Big Dog who does the signature "snap out of it" gesture rather than Cat. Cat notices this and yells at Big Dog for doing "his job". Peg asks if Cat is acting weird because he thinks she likes Big Dog more than him. Cat replies yes, and draws it on a graph, but Peg reassures him that she doesn't love him any less and informs him that things like love cannot be measured. Then, they sing a song about it.
!! This episode provides examples of
* TwentyPercentMoreAwesome: Averted. There is a whole song about how love is an abstract concept and therefore ''can't'' be measured.
* AnAesop: Love is intangible and true friendship doesn't lessen with new friends.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Averted for Big Dog and Pig, but played straight for Cat, who is dark bluish purple.
* BigFriendlyDog: Big Dog is a large dog playing around with his friends.
* ADogNamedDog: Or ''Big'' Dog, rather. Also, Pig and Cat.
* FilthyFun: During his comedy act, Big Dog falls into mud.
* FriendshipSong: The final song is sung between Peg, Cat, Big Dog, and the Neighbor Ladies about how "I wouldn't love you any more, I'll never love you less."
* FunnyAnimal: Cat and the Pig are anthropomorphized, although Cat to a lesser extent.
* AGirlAndHerX: Peg and Cat's strong bond is mentioned in this episode, and Peg reassures Cat that nothing can get between them.
* JumpingToConclusionsDiagnosis: Downplayed. While sitting quietly and appearing unhappy is not a very good basis for assuming a cat is sick, uncharacteristic behaviour is.
* NearlyNormalAnimal: Big Dog is mainly a normal dog but occasionally does something human-like, most notably him doing "Cat's job" of snapping Peg out of her freak-out.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Peg and the Neighbor Ladies become very concerned when Cat begins to act less enthusiastic.
* ShoutOut: Peg reads from ''Literature/PussInBoots''.
* SickEpisode: Subverted. Cat is thought to be sick, but it turns out he is just sad.
* SingleTear: When Cat is sad, he cries at one point, but only has one teardrop.
* UndyingLoyalty: There is a whole song about the friends' loyalty to each other.
