* EasilyForgiven: Played with. The CMC are seemingly given full apologies on the spot by the Equestria Girls when they admit to being Anon-a-Miss. However, it's later shown they have to serve six months detention and live with the fact some of the secrets revealed cannot be taken back.

* {{Hypocrite}}: As in "Ponyville Confidential", everyone decries Anon-a-Miss for revealing secrets despite continuing to read them and demanding more, such that Anon-a-Miss was forced to continue. Unfortunately, if the students were ever called out for such, like in the episode, it happened offscreen.

* AdaptationalVillainy: The difference between this story and [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E23PonyvilleConfidential "Ponyville Confidential"]] is that in the episode, the CMC kept writing Gabby Gums columns because Diamond Tiara was blackmailing them, and they weren't trying to frame someone else. Here, they're motivated purely by hatred for Sunset Shimmer.
* AllIsWellThatEndsWell: After all the drama everyone went through, and making a point of what happened can never be fully taken back, you wouldn't be able to tell that from the final panel.
* AnAesop: Some secrets cannot be taken back.

** The tale of Hearth's Warming Eve and the Windegos is brought up by Twilight.
** Sunset's self-esteem problems show up again.
* EasilyForgiven: Played with: the CMC are seemingly given full apologies on the spot by the Humane 6 when they admit to being Anon-a-Miss. However, we learn later they have to serve 6 months detention and live with the fact some of the secrets revealed cannot be taken back.

* FixFic: Inspired many where the Humane 5 [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone realize how horribly they treated Sunset]] (often after she [[DespairEventHorizon breaks over it]]) then try to make amends, and/or give Sunset a justification for forgiving everyone.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: One of AJ's [=MyStable=] posts seemingly contains a CurseCutShort version of "damn", and another's visibly contains "sucks" (yes, as slang).
** That said, the same word could be [[GoshDangItToHeck "dang",]] since Apple Bloom's finger obscures enough of the word to not be able to see if the third letter is an n or an m, and the word "damn" probably couldn't fit on the line if the post used justified text orientation. Either way, it's still a trope.
* GreenEyedMonster: Apple Bloom originally started Anon-a-Miss because she was jealous that Applejack was spending time with Sunset and her friends and not with her and the rest of her family.

* JustEatGilligan: The plot lasts because no one questions that Sunset Shimmer has no reason for her alleged actions and lots to lose. It takes Sunset (who had the excuse of being [[HeroicBSOD emotionally distraught]]) the rest of the comic to somewhat cite this at which point everything gets wrapped up shorty.
* MoralDissonance: Applejack cites the importance of family sticking together and treating Sunset Shimmer as such. One could pass her turning on Sunset as the latter seemingly crossing the line, but to immediately forgive the Crusaders once they confess to framing her, without the same anger she had toward Sunset because... Family?
* MotiveDecay: The Crusaders start with a selfish, yet understandable motive for framing Sunset Shimmer. After achieving that goal, they continue to do so for no clear reason for days before their consciences get the better of them.
* PeerPressureMakesYouEvil: One of the reasons the CMC give for continuing to post secrets was that their peers were encouraging them to continue. So the secret posting went on until everyone in the school got involved, which caused the whole situation to spiral out of control.
* RealityEnsues: Even after Anon-a-Miss is exposed, the things that were posted online don't just magically vanish. Rarity even tells Sweetie Belle that what was posted will be up forever.

''Equestria Girls Holiday Special''

** [=MyStable=] is a fictional counterpart to [=MySpace=] and similar social networking sites.
** Anon-A-Miss starts out as a SockPuppet of Apple Bloom, but her friends quickly start sharing shameful secrets of everyone at Canterlot High, much as {{Tropers/Anonymous}} shares secrets of celebrities and other public figures.
