* TheUnReveal:
** Ladybug's plan to stop Mr. Pigeon at the start of the special isn't really seen in action, as it cuts to Alya filming it from way down below. All that's known is that her [[MacGyvering trademark]] plan involved the book he stole, one of his pigeons, the entire Eiffel Tower, and her lucky charm, an office stapler.
** Much is made of a safe in the Statue of Liberty whose key is in the Eiffel Tower. Ladybug and Cat Noir bait Doorman with this to get inside the Statue, and even get their hands on the key, but they never open the safe itself. Doorman's shouting out to be at least shown what's inside the safe is palpable.

* SeriesContinuityError: Liiri is able to say their previous holder's name in front of Gabriel despite it being established that kwami are physically incapable of saying their holder's name to anyone else.

* EasilyForgiven: Ladybug and Cat Noir are easily forgiven by the Parisians for letting the Robustus clone rampage through the city unopposed when they learn that the two were busy saving New York instead. The fact that Hawk Moth was in New York and had threatened to trigger a world-ending nuclear war probably helped.

* CallBack:
** During the dance, Adrien recalls last time he danced with Marinette, at Chloé's birthday party. They're even dancing to the same song thanks to Alya and Jess' assistance.
** Marinette and Adrien once again have an emotional scene in the rain.

* PlotHole: Liiri is able to say their previous holder's name in front of Gabriel despite it being established that kwami are physically incapable of saying their holder's name to anyone else.

* CaptainObvious: There's an actual superhero named Captain Obvious in New York. Sparrow jokes that Uncanny sounds like him when she sees fit to inform "him" of what's happening right before "his" eyes.

* SuperheroEpisode: Though technically a superhero show anyway, this episode focuses on standard American [[Creator/DCComics DC]] style superheroes instead of just {{MagicalGirl}}s.

* ISurrenderSuckers: Miraclonizer pretends to surrender so he can draw in as many heroes as possible, then uses the Liberation power of his Miraculous to unleash their worst traits and turn them against the city.

* NotImportantToThisEpisodeCamp: Ms. Bustier and Lila remain in Paris; the former is pregnant while the latter claims to be caught up in charity work.

** Natalie's health has deteriorated after using the broken Peacock Miraculous, leaving her bedridden but not in a coma like Emilie. Now that it's been repaired, she is able to become Mayura and create a sentimonster as part of Hawk Moth's plan without further risk to herself.

* ActionPrologue: The special starts off in the middle of a fight between Ladybug/Cat Noir and Mr. Pigeon. Since Mr Pigeon is taking the Eiffel Tower into space, Ladybug and Cat Noir power up into Cosmo Bug and Astro Cat, which gives them fully sealed suits and flight capabilities.

* BatmanGambit: Ladybug exploits Doorman's curiosity to get him to teleport to her location and from there to the Statue Of Liberty.

* XanatosGambit: In his entire stay in New York, Hawk Moth does not once curse his defeat. He was still able to procure the Eagle Miraculous even though Techlonizer was defeated the first time. When Miraclonizer is defeated and he loses the Eagle Miraculous, he walks away pleased to have discovered that there are more lost Miraculous around the world than he can track down and try to take for himself.
