Or: "Trust Doesn't Rust II: The Wrath Of KARR".

A young beachcombing couple happens upon what looks like a car buried on a beach. It turns out to be, not just any car, but KARR[[note]]now voiced by Creator/PaulFrees, replacing Creator/PeterCullen[[/note]], the Knight Automated Roving Robot, KITT's EvilTwin who was supposedly destroyed [[Recap/KnightRiderS1E9TrustDoesntRust two years prior]]. But here KARR is, intact and fully operational. Not only that, but via a series of seductions, pacemaker disruptions, ATM manipulations and, eventually, outright extortion, he cons the kids into helping him in his quest for vengeance against KITT and Michael Knight.

(Lucas of course having created ''Star Wars''.)

* SpecialEffectsEvolution: In "Trust Doesn't Rust", KARR's voice box was depicted as just that -- just the voice box itself (and a couple of flanking lights), floating in the middle of a plain black panel with no mock dashboard. In this episode, they finally laid out the cash for a mock dashboard.

* PlotHole: As KITT points out, KARR '''exploded''' at the conclusion of his last apperance. And, apart from KITT's incredulity, absolutely no attempt is made to explain how KARR could possibly still be in one piece. [[note]]: The novelization of "Trust Doesn't Rust" does state that as KARR plummeted over the cliff, his indestructible shell remained "ridiculously intact", and that he exploded only because of an internal overload or power surge or some such -- which would still have left naught but a burnt, empty shell of a car.[[/note]]

!!Tropes peculiar to this episode:
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: KARR crashes into FLAG's semi-truck-''cum''-garage.
* TheEndOrIsIt: After KARR is finally destroyed for good, [[spoiler:the camera pans across the wreckage... and settles upon the main computer processor, intact and still functioning]].
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: threatened, though thankfully never carried out: KARR kidnaps the girlfriend and threatens her, first with suffocation and then by baking her like a potato, in order to coerce the boyfriend's continued cooperation.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Whilst threatening to squish Devon Miles between his front bumper and a computer console, KARR addresses him as "Mr. Miles".
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: KARR tries to invoke this trope, by invading FLAG's mobile truck unit, stealing a laser the heroes had intended to use against him, and turning this against Michael and KITT. It ends up being played straight (against KARR, that is) when KITT is equipped with a laser mirror which reflects the laser right back at KARR.
* LampshadeHanging: Upon first seeing KARR back in action, KITT voices the though that likely shot through the minds of practically every thinking viewer: "But [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat I saw him explode]]! '''YOU''' saw him explode!"
* MotiveDecay: KARR's previously established motivation (self-preservation at all costs) is still present, but is downplayed in favor of [[CardCarryingVillain Card-Carrying]] {{Revenge}}.
* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: See Lampshade Hanging, above.
* PaletteSwap: KARR's scanner light has turned yellow by this episode. It's further invoked when KARR gets a paint job (white on bottom, making him look like an orca, or like Series/{{Airwolf}}).
