The side-story is that Peter takes it into his head to enter a rodeo - and gets a whole lot more than he bargained for.

** It is implied that a bull -- a 1,000 male steer -- rapes Peter. Never mind the sheer ridiculousness of this (humans romancing [[WesternAnimation/BugsBunny animals they think are people]] have dated to the beginnings of Western Animation), but if a steer were actually able to sexually assault a human being, the man would surely be killed, if not severely sickened and violently injured. (Not to mention that the bull would probably have been shot and killed if he began doing this in a public arena.)
** Peter suffers more of this later in the episode, when Meg returns home from prison and sexually assaults him repeatedly, first by interrupting his shower.

* CurbStompBattle: Meg dishes these out to every one. She even gives Peter a literal curb stomp (or in this case, "stair stomp").

** After shamelessly using his own children to practice his rodeo skills, Peter gets completely trounced in the rodeo - by the bull.

* NoSympathy: Lois does not care one bit about Meg's story and forbids her from seeing the inmate again. Granted the guy ''is'' a criminal and they can be dangerous, but the fact that he's gentle around Meg should say ''something''.

** Connie and her friends. Did they not notice or care that Meg's time in prison would make her violent? Apparently not, because they ''still'' make fun of her before having their asses handed to them.

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: At the end of the episode, Meg attempts to rob Mort's pharmacy and is one police call away from falling even deeper right before Brian defuses the situation by reading her the article he wrote about her.

* ParentalHypocrisy: Lois telling off Meg for dating a convict doesn't seem so in-place when you remember that she was once arrested for shoplifting. Same goes for Peter, who has been arrested far too many times than Lois.

* TheStoolPigeon: Brian. Justified in that he's shown to actually be concerned for Meg's safety rather than wanting to get her in hot water. Meg, however, doesn't appreciate this one bit.
