* DespairEventHorizon: Ernie has crossed it by the events of this episode, due to having bird flu and his life falling apart.
--> '''Ernie:''' This is probably for the best, anyway. There's nothing left for me in this world. I lost my job, I lost my house, my wife left me. I'm better off dead...

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Peter sends out a text to all his friends describing Quagmire's embarrassing medical problem. Quagmire is one of his friends so the text also goes to him and alerts him that Peter is trying to humiliate him.
** When Brian jumps off the roof to prove he's a cat, he's left severely injured because he couldn't actually land on his feet.
** After saving Ernie's life, Peter tells him that if he died, then Peter would be solely responsible for the many times they've destroyed Quahog throughout their fights.
** When Peter refuses to care for Ernie because of their feud, Hartman tells him that it's his duty as a nurse, and he has no choice. As a doctor, nurse, or other person who works in medicine (or other emergency services) you can't just ''refuse'' to help somebody, no matter how much you dislike them, it's your job.
