Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am sensing some hostility here.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Despite expecting the plan to fail, Modeus was surprised that Hughes reacted to Lucy and Lisanna [[DistractedByTheSexy trying to distract him with their swimsuits]] by siccing monsters on the two.
* EnemyMine: Lisanna offers to form one with Hughes and Sugarboy against Nelo Angelo. They refuse out of pride.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: [[TheDreaded Nelo Angelo]] is puzzled as to why Fairy Tail would try to save Edolas give what a CrapsackWorld it is.
* EvilLaugh: Nelo Angelo gives one as he fights a freshly repowered [[BadassCrew Fairy Tail]].
* ExactlyWhatIAimedAt: Inverted. Nelo Angelo congratulates Hughes for hitting Fairy Tail with a boat after narrowly dodging, only for the SmugSnake to yell he was aiming for Nelo Angelo.
* FailedASpotCheck: Lucy keeps running from the monsters long after they've stopped chasing her.
* ForceAndFinesse: [[TheBigGuy Natsu]] and [[BadassPacifist Modeus]] are this respectively. The former is a HotBlooded IdiotHero who fights [[BareFistedMonk with hand to hand]] [[KungFuWizard supplemented by his highly destructive Fire Dragon Slayer magic]], and throughout the chapter tanks a great deal of damage before casually manhandling his opponent. By contrast, Modeus is a levelheaded MartialPacifist who {{Dual Wield|ing}}s swords and uses precise attacks to dispatch projectiles and opponents before they can reach him.
* TheGadfly: Natsu subjects [[ReluctanceFanserviceGirl Lucy and Lisanna]] to several embarrassing costume changes for a quick laugh, only cutting it out when they yell at him.
* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: Fairy Tail are unable to wrap their heads around [[ArcVillain Nelo Angelo]] killing people for fun or treating loss of life so callously.
* GoodColorsEvilCOlors: Dante, Natsu, Gray, and Modeus are associated with [[RedIsHeroic red]], [[VibrantOrange orange]], [[BlueIsHeroic cyan]], and [[LightIsGood silver]] respectively, in contrast to Nelo Angelo's dark blue lightning.

** At the end of the chapter, Dante breaks out his Devil Trigger.
* MeleeATrois: Between [[BadassCrew Fairy Tail]], [[ArcVillain Nelo Angelo]] and [[QuirkyMinibossSquad the Edolas Magic Force Captains]].
* MusclesAreMeaningful: Zigzagged. Natsu is visibly muscular, but much less so than [[GiantMook Frank]], and manages to easily overpower the latter.
* NormalFishInATinyPond: Downplayed by Nelo Angelo. He himself admits the lack of other wizards or demons in Edolas is largely why he went virtually unchallenged in his time there, but he still manages to break even with [[TheAce Dante]] after the latter has regained his powers.
* NotDistractedByTheSexy: Hughes reaction to seeing Lucy and Lisanna in skimpy bikini's? To sic a horde of monsters on them without batting an eye.
* NotSoStoic: Modeus is visibly flustered upon seeing Lucy and Lisanna [[{{Fanservice}} in skimpy outfits]].
* PointOfDivergence:
** Instead of Gray helping her out, Lucy gets out of the softened ground thanks to Lisanna using her Harpy Soul. The latter also joins the former in being subjected to constant clothes changes and being chased by Hughes' monsters.
** [[TheHero Natsu's]] speech about the value of life is given to Nelo Angelo instead of Hughes.
** [[ActionGirl Lady]] joins [[BloodKnight Gajeel]] and [[SupportPartyMember Happy]] in the fight against Panther-Lily.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: Natsu gives a chilling "My turn" before his LetsGetDangerous moment. Subverted in that Hughes flees, no asskicking needed.
* PrettyBoy: Modeus is called this by Hughes.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: [[ButtMonkey Lucy]] is subjected to this as per usual, with poor Lisanna being caught up in the chaos as well.
* ShipTease: Lisanna blushes when Natsu stares at her in a [[{{Fanservice}} genie outfit]].
* SkewedPriorities: After his plan for [[DistractedByTheSexy Lucy and Lisanna to distract Hughes]] fails, Natsu is more upset by the fact that the two can't keep acting cute than he is by them being chased by monsters.
* SuperMode: [[TheAce Dante]] decides to break out his Devil Trigger against [[OneManArmy Nelo Angelo]] at the chapter's end.
* TemptingFate: Lucy remarks she can finally catch a break... right before Coco runs into her.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Once again, the Edolas Magic Force Captains severely underestimate the power of Earthland mages. Even worse they assume they can take Nelo Angelo on ''while'' fighting aforementioned wizards, despite knowing exactly how dangerous their one time ally is.
* VillainHasAPoint: Nelo Angelo's confusion at Fairy Tail trying to stop him unleashing Mundus on Edolas is mostly rooted in EvilCannotComprehendGood, but he makes the valid point that Edolas as a whole is a CrapsackWorld full of people they'd have no issue seeing bite it. They refute that there ''are'' good people living there who would be caught in the crossfire.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Natsu's motion sickness once again rears its head when Hughes traps him on a Hell Coaster.
* WorthyOpponent:
** Lady and Gajeel both regard Panther-Lily as one, complimenting his skill with [[{{BFS}} Busterman]].
** Nelo Angelo relishes his fight with Dante.
* WouldHurtAChild: Faust has no issues harming Coco to get her to give up the key.

The Edolas War begins in the E-Land Amusement Park, where Dante does battle with Nelo Angelo, and Natsu, Modeus, Lucy and Lisanna fight Hughes, who has control over everything in E-Land. Meanwhile, Lady and Gajeel fight Panther-Lily to save Fairy Tail and stop Code: ETD.
