* PetTheDog: A minor example for Ed. Whereas he inflicts physical harm against Eddy for the latter's harsh and aggressive means of curbing his bad mood, Edd's more gentle approach merely prompts him to forcefully but harmlessly push the latter away. Additionally, he noticeably doesn't shout as loud when he threatens to squash Edd should the latter touch him again.

* KarmaHoudini: Ed was never punished for handing out [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown no holds barred beatdowns]] left and right, terrifying Sarah or destroying the playground. Probably because as mentioned above, some of his victims just deserved it big time, except Plank, who along with Jonny was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and was about to be the subject of what would have been Ed's MoralEventHorizon. [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Though even that ended up helping them solve his problem.]]

* GrievousHarmWithABody: Ed crushes Eddy into the shape of a baseball bat, then uses him to smash Kevin's face in hard enough to [[IncrediblyLamePun knock him out of the park]]

* {{Foodfight}}: The kids get into a big one during the movie. Eddy is quick to cash in on the chaos, and sells them popcorn and drinks as ammo.

* MoodWhiplash: As the kids engage in a messy foodfight, the scene takes an abruptly serious turn as we cut to Ed's chillingly angry face.

* KnowWhenToFoldEm: After Sarah yells at Ed for kicking her out of the house, he yells at her back, scaring her. Sarah decides to do as her brother says and leaves, knowing he is stronger than her when he is angry.

* UnstoppableRage: Eddy clipping Ed on the back of the head was the final straw of his pebble induced HairTriggerTemper, causing him to scream like a howler monkey, forcibly rip his monobrow apart and completely nuke the playground with his bare hands and attempt to murder Plank.
* VillainousBreakdown: Eddy ultimately sends Ed into one near the end of the episode.

* BerserkButton: Don't let Ed [[AgonyOfTheFeet get a pebble in his shoe.]] '''''[[AgonyOfTheFeet EVER]]'''''.

* KnightOfCerebus: Ed is this of this episode, due to him being completely OutOfCharacter through expressing mostly negative emotions unlike most episodes such as constantly making an intimidating DeathGlare, assaulting people who gets in his way left and right in scary and brutal ways and Edd's and Eddy's attempts to cheer him up only makes things FromBadToWorse, to a point where Ed nearly crosses the MoralEventHorizon in a blind rage by almost killing off a reoccurring character (Plank, despite being an inanimate object) near the end of the episode before Jonny resolves this by removing the pebble in his shoe to turn off Ed's BerserkButton, therefore reverting Ed back to his NiceGuy self, seemingly, blissfully unaware the events that he causes in this episode.

* UnstoppableRage: Eddy clipping Ed on the back of the head was the final straw of his pebble induced HairTriggerTemper, causing him to scream like a howler monkey, forcibly rip his monobrow apart and completely nuke the playground with his barehands and attempt to murder Plank.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Ed is in a horrible mood because a pebble was in his shoe, and he is completely out of character in this episode. Throughout the series, Ed has taken a lot of crap from his sister, Sarah ([[ParentalFavoritism for good reasons, though]]). Sarah (as usual) gets angry at Ed and screams at him. Ed would [[ActualPacifist normally let this slide when he's in a good mood]]. Due to him being in a horrible mood, however, [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness he uncharacteristically yells back]] [[BewareTheNiceOnes at her without any hesitation]]. Sarah then gets understandably scared of Ed and hesitantly backs away. Sarah might be a horribly abusive shrew and a tiny tyrant with a vicious streak that her brother is terrified of in case she tells their parents, but with Ed being that irrationally angry she realizes that it's not a good idea to provoke the strongest guy in the neighborhood.
** Eddy and Edd try to cheer up Ed by surrounding him with everything he likes. But since they don't know the cause of his grumpiness, their actions proceed to make Ed's mood even ''worse'' until Eddy gives up and yells at him to cheer up and hits him. This leads to Ed having a tantrum and destroying the entire playground in the process. As anyone who has been in this situation (especially when they were younger) can tell you, trying to help or scold someone over their attitude without knowing the cause of it will only make it worse.

Eddy creates a scam where the kids are invited to a theater in Ed's garage that is screening a low-budget silent B-movie the guys made. However, it devolves into a massive food-fight between the kids in Ed's garage. All of a sudden, Ed arrives, and forcibly throws everybody out of the garage and scares Sarah off, as he is absolutely livid. Throughout the episode, Double D and Eddy try unsuccessfully to find out why he's pissed off and calm him down.

* EnemyMine: Eddy and Kevin getting along for a brief moment, when they are [[BullyingADragon pitching baseballs at Ed's head.]]

* GentleTouchVsFirmHand: This is Edd and Eddy's respective methods in cheering up Ed. Edd tries to be gentle and sympathetic, but Eddy tries to be harsh and aggressive. Not only do neither of these methods work, but the Firm Hand, which is Eddy's proves to only worsen the situation.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: What Eddy does to Ed twice, but it backfires, [[UnstoppableRage especially the second attempt.]]

* NoSympathy: Eddy really doesn't seem to care about Ed's predicament. He belittles him, shows him very little in the way of patience or empathy, and even causes him to reach his RageBreakingPoint by smacking him upside the head and telling him to get over himself.
