Written by Creator/RobertHolmes. This three-episode serial first aired from February 16 to March 2, 1985. Incidentally, the 45-minute length of each episode meant that the story's total runtime was comparable to the six-part serials that Nathan-Turner had done away with when he became producer in 1980; accordingly, international airings reedited the story into six 25-minute parts.

* ShoutOut: At one point, the Doctor, trying to figure out where his other self has gone, remarks that for some reason he's thinking about getting a haircut; this would of course be a referrence to ''Theatre/TheBarberOfSeville'', the place where the Second Doctor is being held captive. To cap off the reference, the Doctor then begins to hum the start of the "Figaro" aria.
