Lucemon and Nene are engulfed by the dark power that Lucemon had released. Sparrowmon tries to save Nene, but is repelled. Lucemon absorbs the power, glowing brightly before seemingly reverting to his previous form. Lucemon says that he is no longer interested in the Code Crown now that he has this power at his command, breaking into a nightmarish grin as the dark power begins to transform him into Lucemon Satan Mode[[note]]Lucemon Wild 2nd Mode[[/note]]. The remaining dark power is concentrated into an orb held by the now-mindless Lucemon with Nene trapped in the center. Several crests appear over Lucemon's back and begin firing beams, destroying the temple. Lucemon takes off into the sky as Sparrowmon makes another rescue attempt. Over Dorulumon's objections, Taiki decides to mount a rescue of his own. At the Digimons' agreement, Taiki [=DigiXroses=] Shoutmon X4 and sends Beelzebumon to free Nene. Beelzebumon is unable to avoid Lucemon's beam attacks and is hit while Shoutmon X4's attacks are unable to do more than draw the massive beast's attention. Shoutmon X4 is hit while protecting Taiki and Akari and splits back into Shoutmon and the others while Sparrowmon is knocked out of the air by Lucemon's tail. Lucemon's orb pulls in the dark energy that had corrupted the Digimon of the Digimon of the Heaven Zone, restoring them to normal. The influx of power causes Lucemon to grow even larger. Beelzebumon tells Taiki and the others to retreat and Taiki leaves him with a wrist communicator as a pair of Monitamon reports this to [=DarkKnightmon=], who comments that Lucemon's rampage was unexpected but potentially useful.
The human members of Xros Heart regroup and patch up the team's Digimon and an unconscious Sparrowmon as Shakkoumon explains that with the temple's destruction, the dark power absorbed by Lucemon cannot be resealed. Taiki decides to fight and destroy Lucemon despite Zenjirou's objection that it would endanger Nene. Shakkoumon says that Nene was trapped because there was darkness in her heart. Inside the orb, Nene reminisces about her friendship with Sparrowmon, who wakes up and decides to make another rescue attempt. Taiki offers to help, but Sparrowmon refuses out of suspicion as Taiki had tried to stop Nene not long before. The ground begins to shake and Taiki and the others rush outside to see Lucemon beginning to absorb the Heaven Zone itself and growing even more massive. Taiki offers a communicator to Sparrowmon, who refuses again and says that they are not friends. Taiki leaves the communicator as Shakkoumon teleports them above the temple while Sparrowmon flies off to get help from [=DarkKnightmon=].
[=DarkKnightmon=] refuses to help Nene as Nene's negative emotions are refining the dark power in Lucemon's orb. He tells Sparrowmon to sit back and observe despite the latter's objections that Nene could die. Meanwhile, Taiki attempts another rescue with Beelzebumon and Shoutmon X4, who is being flown towards Lucemon by Shakkoumon. They are unable to get close as Shakkoumon is hit by another beam attack while Beelzebumon takes a shot to the wing. Meanwhile, Sparrowmon tries to break into the orb by shooting lasers and with a wing-blade attack. Neither is effective and Sparrowmon's wing blades are left chipped and dull from the attack. As Xros Heart looks on, Sparrowmon takes several of Lucemon's attacks point-blank. Nene begs Sparrowmon to back down, but Sparrowmon tries to drill into the orb. Taiki uses the Patamon [=DigiMemory=] to create a stairway of clouds so Shoutmon X4 can help. Sparrowmon breaks into the orb, but is dragged out before Nene can be saved. Lucemon nearly crushes Sparrowmon to death, but Shoutmon X4 saves Sparrowmon by slashing Lucemon's hand. Taiki tells Sparrowmon to save Nene, who is flung free of the orb by the force of the escaping darkness. Lucemon starts to fight back again, knocking Shoutmon and Taiki into a freefall as a grateful grants Taiki the ability to form a new [=DigiXros=]. Sparrowmon saves Taiki and Shoutmon X4 from the fall and Taiki [=DigiXroses=] the to into Shoutmon X5. Now able to fly, Shoutmon dodges Lucemon's beam attack and blocks his breath attack before finishing Lucemon off with two attacks. Lucemon crashes into the floating temple and disintegrates in a burst of data. The Heaven Zone is restored to normal with the exception of the temple, which crumbles. Taiki is unable to reach the others and Nene points them out as they fall while Taiki realizes he still needs to rescue them.
Later, Sparrowmon finds the wrist communicator Taiki left while Shakkoumon presents Taiki and the other members of Xros Heart with the Heaven Zone's Code Crown, encouraging Taiki to protect the rest of the Digital World. That evening, one of Nene's Monitamon finds a piece of the dark orb. Nene pulls the fragment into her Xros Loader and reloads [=DarkKnightmon=], who congratulates her on a job well done as the darkness from the fragment is of high quality. [=DarkKnightmon=] tells Nene that he's glad that she is unharmed, but Sparrowmon pulls closer to Nene at his words. [=DarkKnightmon=] tells Nene that their next step is to go to the next Zone and recruit powerful Digimon there.
