Taichi is interrupted by Koushirou appearing at the door, ranting that a Digimon egg has hatched. Koushirou enters the house and shows Taichi a jellyfish-like Digimon (Kuramon), who's left a message saying "hello!!". Koushirou explains that the egg was made up of a ton of computer bugs' fragments, having retrieved the information from an American friend who had analyzed the egg shell[[note]]a mysterious boy named Willis in the english dub[[/note]].

Added DiffLines:
* PoorCommunicationKills: Mimi could ''probably'' have given her friends a heads-up she was going on vacation, just in case they needed her. Admittedly, not doing so is still pretty in-character for her, and in the dub version Tai is appropriately incredulous.
Added DiffLines:
* SkewedPriorities: Most of the kids have at least ''some'' justification for not being helpful; Jou's taking an exam, Mimi's out of the country, Sora's... in a sulk, but Hikari doesn't help simply because she's ''at a party''. The dub version at least has her beg off because of HonorBeforeReason (having already agreed to take part in a magic trick later), but in the original she won't because the host hasn't blown out the candles of her cake.

In many stories, some characters enter the story, serve their role, and move on without any fanfare. If they have served their purpose and exit the story, then it's not a What Happened To The Mouse situation just because there isn't some final "where are they now" information given. The trope is for cases where a character simply disappears without reason or acknowledgment by the rest of the cast. In this case, Tentomon and Patamon are taken out of the battle by Diablomon.
