[[caption-width-right:350:'''Jack:''' Let's recap, <Player's Name>. We've got a dead SOMBRA assassin who was drowned before she could carry out her mission.]]

The Bureau arrives to [=KwaZulu=]-Natal, South Africa, to look for Prince Abioye of Mazunda before he can be killed by a SOMBRA assassin sent after him. There, Chief Ripley sends Jack, Michelle, and the player to a nearby village where the prince was last seen, only to find the body of Kayla Pieterse, the very SOMBRA assassin sent after him, fished out of a water well.

!!Tropes:
*TheAce: Kwanele recalls how Kayla started to excel at everything once she went back from "a mysterious trip", turning much smarter and even becoming the president of an exclusive yacht club without much effort. Later, you learn she was subjected to some BioAugmentation by SOMBRA, which granted her SuperIntelligence.
*AcquiredSituationalNarcissism: Kwanele, Kayla's boyfriend, tells you how she became more smug and looked down at him due to becoming super intelligent due to SOMBRA's experiments.
*AstonishinglyAppropriateInterruption: Prince Abioye interrupts Jack and the player when the former tries to accuse him of the murder.
-->'''Jack:''' And speaking of secrets, what's the deal with Prince Abioye? I can't believe he ran away from us! It's hard to imagine he's innocent when he won't talk-
-->'''Abioye:''' I resent that accusation!
*AttentionWhore: Kwanele Mthembu murdered his own girlfriend because he wanted to get noticed by SOMBRA, believing that killing one of their assassins would make him strong in the organization's eyes.
*BeingGoodSucks: Kwanele has this mentality, considering he was willing to murder someone just to be recruited by an international crime organization.
*BlameGame: Due to the panic provoked by the fact there's a mole inside of the Bureau, the team has started to publicly doubt each other, with Jack accusing Jonah in front of Marina and Lars even having questions about his own wife.
*{{Bulungi}}: Mazunda, a fictional African country that Prince Abioye is part of.
*ChildhoodFriendRomance: Kayla and Kwanele were childhood friends due to she growing on the orphanage his parents ran, which eventually developed into a relationship.
*ClassifiedInformation: Throughout the case, Prince Abioye refuses to tell you the reason why SOMBRA is after him due to not trusting you entirely. It's only after you solve the murder that he can freely speak with you.
*ContinuityNod: When Marina asks you to unlock Jonah's phone, she excuses herself by recalling [[Recap/CriminalCaseWorldEditionCase31DeathMatch that one time he searched through her bag.]]
*DissonantSerenity: Apparently, Dupont is the only one holding it well regarding the SOMBRA mole, which makes him a little suspicious in Lars' eyes.
*InstantlyProvenWrong: The following exchange regarding Prince Abioye:
-->'''Jack:''' Man, we're never going to solve this murder without talking to the Prince. But we've no idea where he is!
-->'''Elliot:''' Speak for yourself... I know exactly where Prince Abioye's hiding!
*LanguageFluencyDenial: Jacob attempts to divert your attention when you interrogate him about visiting Indonesia by claiming he doesn't speak English.
-->'''Jacob:''' Indonesia? ...I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. I only understand Afrikaans.
-->'''Jack:''' You're speaking English right now!
*MirrorCharacter: Jacob is basically a slightly younger and ''much'' more spoiled version of Jack. Not that Jack agrees, of course.
-->'''Jack:''' Who wears sunglasses indoors? And did you see all that cleavage he had on show?!
-->What do you mean Jacob and I look similar, <Player's Name>?! We don't!
*MistakenForCheating: During the Additional Investigation, you find a photo of Jonah hugging a certain "Lily Karam", which leads Marina to believe he has a secret wife. Turns out she's just his half-sister.
*OfficialCouple: As of this case, Marina and Jonah leave clear that they're dating.
*OnlyAFleshWound: Willem gets shot in the shoulder when [[TakingTheBullet when he takes a bullet]] for Prince Abioye, but he suffers no permanent damage from it.
*OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Lars is so distraught by the fact that there's a traitor among the Bureau he can't bring himself to try be funny.
-->'''Jack:''' Dude, you're not even going to offer us a knock-knock joke first?!
-->'''Lars:''' It hardly feels appropriate. Everyone's so on edge, knowing there's a mole in the team.
*PrinceCharmless: Prince Abioye is rude, cowardly, and completely uncooperative with you, though the latter is justified as he's being ProperlyParanoid of everyone.
*ProperlyParanoid: Prince Abioye's fears about SOMBRA coming for him turn out to be true when he's almost killed twice by the organization, first by Kayla and later at Kwanele's hands.
*ShoutOut:
** The victim resembles Creator/NatalieDormer.

*SlapSlapKiss: Jonah and Marina have an argument when he finds out she was looking into his phone, though they later reconcile when you speak with his half-sister.
*SpoiledBrat: Jacob Gilbert, a rich South African socialite who likes to look down on you just because you're not as wealthy as him. Even his profile in the Suspect List labels him "Rich Kid".
*StrengthEqualsWorthiness: Kwanele killed Kayla, a [[BioAugmentation Bio-Augmented]] assassin, then tried to finish her mission by murdering Prince Abioye all for the sake of appearing strong in front of SOMBRA so they would recruit him.
*SuperDrowningSkills: The killer knocked out Kayla unconscious then tied her arms and legs before dropping her into the water well so she wouldn't escape.
*TakingTheBullet: Willem takes a bullet for Prince Abioye after Kwanele attempts to assassinate him.
*TrackingDevice: You find Prince Abioye thanks to the tracking watch his bodyguard uses.
*UndyingLoyalty: Willem Nieuwoudt, Prince Abioye's guard, is willing to take a bullet all for the sake of protecting him.
*UnknownRelative: This case introduces Lily Karam, Jonah's half-sister whose existence was entirely unknown to Marina and briefly makes her assume she's his secret wife.
*VenturousSmuggler: It's revealed that the reason why Prince Abioye ran away from Mazunda is because SOMBRA is using his country to smuggle diamonds from Lavinia's company, so he wanted to protect himself in case they decided to target him.
*WoundedGazelleGambit: Kwanele breaks down crying after you inform him about Kayla's death, recalling all the good times they spent together ever since they were children. Of course, it's all a facade since he's actually the killer.
