They arrive at a locked vault door, inside which is a deep hole with a slotted grate atop it. Frank reveals the that the hole is the den of the Minhocão, an insidious insectoid being that lays dormant below the surface of the earth, and has been since the beginning of time. Frank refers back to a newspaper article framed in his hallway advertisting a 9.1 magnitude earthquake in 1926. Frank claims that the Minhocão is the cause of said quake, as it needs to be fed a single human being every 15 years, or it will go on a rampage and devour/destroy everything it sees. Having been guarding the creature since he was 16, Frank reveals that he invited Ryan and Allison primarily so he could pass his responsibilities onto the former, insisting that they hold the wedding at his manor to meet the creature's feeding deadline while also telling him that Allison can never know. Ryan is horrified by the prospect, but Frank unleashes his manipulative side to persuade Ryan to take on the task, promising that if he does so, he will leave his entire fortune to him and Allison. Should Ryan refuse the call, Frank psyches him out by telling him Allison will realize he can't provide for her and will start resenting him over time, forcing Ryan to choose between his standards or his and Allison's future. Back in their apartment, Allison and Ryan talk about Frank, the latter wanting to know why she didn't tell him her father was still alive or that she was from a wealthy family. Ryan tries telling Allison that all of Frank's property is rightfully hers as payback for his absence in her youth, but she vehemently refuses to have their wedding at Frank's estate.

* CoversAlwaysLie: The episode's cover features Ryan and Allison being wed while tentacles emerge from an altar behind them. Though the supernatural threat of the episode is indeed something eldrtich, it's more insectoid than cephalopodic in appearance.

** Creator/TomAtkins, [[Film/{{Creepshow}} Billy's father Stan]], he who delievered the very first lines in the entire ''Creepshow'' franchise, returns in a prominent role for this episode. And just like the original film, he plays an abusive father who gets what he deserves.
** The fact that Tom's character, Frank, is a villainous old man who lives in a huge mansion and is killed partly so his wealth can be divied is highly reminscient of "Father's Day". There's even a splitscreen effect showing Ryan and Allison's car arriving at the mansion from two different angles, just as there was in the original segment.

** The reveal that Frank's Minhocão is only a baby and Ryan's family guards it (unseen) mother, is sure to bring vibes from ''Film/{{Cloverfield}}''.

* VillainHasAPoint: Frank is an atrocious and manipulative human being, but he's not wrong by clarifying that the Minhocão needs to eat people to be rendered dormant and not destroy everything. Furthermore, he raises a point that Allison could potentially grow to resent Ryan for not enough making cash for a somewhat-decent living, as she herself barely makes ends meet as a substitute teacher.

Allison and Ryan stand before him to reveal that this is the property line of Ryan's grandparents' estate, rendered dilapidated and destroyed in the "earthquake" of 1926. Ryan turns out to have told Allison all about Frank's plan after their brunch three weeks ago, and she also came to the conclusion that Frank fed her mother to his Minhocão 15 years ago and sent her to boarding school so she wouldn't find out, so they plotted against him as revenge for both of their ruined/fallen family members. Ryan's family is also revealed to have a Minhocão in their basement (the mother of Frank's, in fact), which he told Allison about on their first date. After noting that he made a promise to his family to feed their Minhocão, Ryan ties a rock to Frank's chair and tosses it into the pit, taking Frank with it and feeding the mother Minhocão for another 15 years.

* OhCrap: Ryan and Allison, when the former notes that that June 27th has ended and the Minhocão hasn't been fed.

If it is not fed in that time, the creature will burst out of its den and go on a complete rampage, devouring everyone and destroying everything in its path.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Ryan telling Frank that he "read about" the "1926 earthquake" turns out to be more accurate than Frank realizes, as the Minhocão destroyed his family's house, and this spurs him towards his own revenge on Frank, along with Allison's abuse and her mother's death.

Steeling his nerves, Ryan decides on his cousin Darryl (Bernie Yao), currently making a fool of himself on the dance floor. Ryan spikes Darryl's drink and waits for the powder to kick in as they get caught up. Meanwhile, Allison sits down and thanks her father for everything he's done as Frank wishes her mother could see her. She also notices how weird it is to see Ryan having fun with Darryl, as he hates him, but she decides not to get too into it. The drug finally kicks in as Ryan takes Darryl away, ready to fulfill his duty. Once in the vault, Ryan has last-minute reservations about what he's about to do. Drunk and drugged, Darryl sits on the edge of the hole and falls into it by accident. Ryan attempts to save him by grabbing his belt, but the belt slips off as Darryl becomes the Minhocão's latest meal. Frank comes down to congratulate Ryan on completing the job, offering to share some whiskey to celebrate. As the men drink, Frank starts getting woozy and passes out.
