* DisproportionateRetribution: Dill and Bob's falling out came from Bob claiming that his pickles were sweeter than usual, resulting in Dill throwing pickles at him. When he responds by throwing ''one'' pickle in retaliation, everyone at the funeral acts as though Bob committed some great sin by doing it, even though Dill got over it before his death.

* ExpyCoexistence: Turns out that ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' exists alongside Burobu. (And looking closely, as a game it seems to be a greatly simplified amalgamation of Pokemon and Yugioh.)

* NegativeContinuity: Frond apparently doesn't drink alcohol and judges people who do, which is why he's never invited to Martini Tuesdays. However, way back in the fourth season Frond was seeing purchasing a martini glass set. It's possible this is another example of Frond's hypocritical tendencies if he secretly does drink yet judges others for it for the sake of the moral high ground.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Ms. LaBonz is militant about Burobu cards in school and confiscates them when any students bring them to school... so that she and the other teachers can play with them on Martini Tuesdays.

* PunnyName: The name "Burobu" is essentially a Japanese pronounciation of "blob", which is fitting considering the direct comparison to Franchise/{{Pokemon}} and because all the creatures are various types of slugs.

* TruthInTelevision: Fake trading cards like that definitely exist, and there is a sort of market for them (proxies, replicas, etc.), but Louise went with a ''really'' cheap seller if they're that blurry.
