!!!Chapter 51: The Creator
Before their Second Selection 2 vs. 2 match, Isagi is seen training with Nagi on their 2nd stage practice field. However, Isagi struggles to dribble by Nagi, who's pretending to move like Baro. Viewing Isagi as a bad training partner, Nagi figures they're not getting anywhere, and questions what they're supposed to do. In return, Isagi figures that the only way of figuring out how to bypass Baro is when they're actually playing against him. Isagi knowing full-well that if he doesn't evolve his play, it's over. Meanwhile, Naruhaya is seen practicing with Baro on their 2nd stage practice field. However, Baro makes it clear for Naruhaya to stay out of his way when they play in the game, which Naruhaya accepts. Baro then heads off the field; leaving Naruhaya on his own. Naruhaya then pulls out a small box from his pocket, which is clearly a precious item to him. He reassures himself that things can't end here as he holds the box up against his head.

Some time after, the Isagi/Nagi duo arrives on the 2nd stage football field opposite the Naruhaya/Baro duo. Nagi being established to mark Baro while Isagi takes on Naruhaya. Nagi and Baro remain determined to make the other their servant while Isagi and Naruhaya are set to take things seriously against each other. The game begins with the Isagi/Nagi duo starting with the ball. Nagi attempts to dribble by Baro, but said dribbling leaves Baro unimpressed to the point of being able to steal the ball away. Isagi then moves to block Baro's long range 27 meter shot. However, Baro proceeds to shoot and score a long range goal at least 29 meters out, which puts Team Isagi down '''0-1'''. As a result, Isagi and Nagi realize that Baro has also been improving since his scoring range increased.

The Isagi/Nagi duo go on the offense again with Isagi dribbling down the field. However, Naruhaya manages to stick with him to the point of Isagi seeing no opening. Meanwhile, Nagi in front of the goal can't do anything as Baro remains locked to him. Knowing that they need to do something different, Nagi's ego kicks in ordering Isagi to kick it to the open field on the left side of the goal. Isagi goes along with it as Nagi goes for the loose ball, which Baro remains unimpressed by Isagi throwing the ball away. However, Nagi claims that he's figured out a way to bypass Baro. As Baro chases after Nagi, the latter explains how he's figured out a goal formula where he can utilize his trapping to score against an opponent that's chasing right behind him. Nagi shows this off by kicking the loose ball over himself in such a way that it avoids the chasing Baro trying to steal the ball away, which throws Baro off just enough to give Nagi an open shot at the goal. Thus, tying the game back up '''1-1'''. Nagi then announces that they can beat them, and that at this point, they're just waiting on Isagi to evolve.

!!!Chapter 52: Genius and Mediocre
The Naruhaya/Baro duo takes over on offense, which Baro charges in with the ball. Nagi suggesting that he and Isagi take him on 2-on-1 knowing that Baro's the selfish king who won't pass to Naruhaya. Sure enough, Nagi's block provides an opening for Isagi to steal the ball away, which puts the Isagi/Nagi duo back on offense. While they push, Isagi realizes that Nagi figured out a goal formula that allows the latter to score goals in 1-on-1 situations that utilizes his trap skills while the opponent's chasing after him. Thus, Isagi does the exact same trick as last time where he kicks to the open field to the right of the goal. This allows Nagi to run ahead while Naruhaya chases after him, and just like before, Nagi traps the ball before Naruhaya could make it in time. Nagi kicking the ball into the goal to make it a '''2-1''' game.

Baro becomes enraged as his team takes over on offense, and attempts a long shot from the half-field kick-off just what Rin pulled off. However, Baro's not quite there yet as the shot gets blocked by the Blue Lock Man goalie. Despite that, Naruhaya manages to rebound the loose ball in front of the goal, and passes it back to Baro, who proceeds to shoot it in. Thus, tying the game back up '''2-2'''. Isagi realizes that with Nagi and Baro trading goals, the key that decides the game will be either himself or Naruhaya. The Isagi/Nagi duo go on offense again with Isagi dribbling down the field. He suddenly gets blocked off by Naruhaya. However, Naruhaya uses the moment to speak to Isagi by pointing out that the reason he chose to take on the Isagi/Nagi duo is because he believes that he can beat Isagi. That because Isagi has always relied on his teammates to pull off amazing feats, Naruhaya believes that Isagi can't play by himself. Naruhaya then points out that he's just like Isagi, which is that compared to geniuses like Nagi and Baro, the two of them are just mediocre players. Nagi then orders Isagi to pay attention to the game, but as Isagi attempts to pass it over, it gets partially blocked by Naruhaya.

Baro manages to receive the loose ball to successfully steal it away for his team, which he then charges forward. As Isagi readies himself to block Baro, Naruhaya uses the opening to race downfield the moment Isagi stops paying attention to him. Baro sends the now open Naruhaya a pass in front of the goal expecting to receive it back as Isagi realizes he messed up having remembered that Naruhaya's weapon is his ability to fly down the field. However, Naruhaya refuses to pass as he announces that he desires to reach the level of the geniuses. Naruhaya then proceeds to shoot at the goal, but his shot ends up getting blocked by the Blue Lock Man goalie. Despite Isagi and Nagi being closer to receive the loose ball, Baro manages to charge through them in time, and kicks the ball in. Thus, making it a '''2-3''' deficit for Team Isagi. After the goal, Isagi thinks things over, and realizes that he and Naruhaya are mediocre because they lack the other half of each other's 1-on-1 goal formula. That Isagi lacks Naruhaya's weapon to move down the field while Naruhaya lacks Isagi's weapon to score in front of the goal. Thus, Isagi figures that between him and Naruhaya, the first one to overcome their weakness will be the side that wins the game.

!!!Chapter 53: Blind Spot
As the Isagi/Nagi duo begin their next offensive push, Isagi thinks over how he needs to figure out the weapon he's lacking that will allow him to stand at the same level as the geniuses. Isagi and Nagi proceed to dribble down the field, which Naruhaya once more stands before Isagi to block him. Despite Isagi's attempt to run by, Naruhaya's able to remain locked on to him, which forces Isagi to send another open field pass like before to take advantage of the chase-and-trap combo that got Nagi his first two goals. Like before, Nagi traps Isagi's open field pass ahead of the chasing Baro in front of the goal, and scores to tie the game back up '''3-3'''.

As Isagi thinks over how he has to change his way of thinking, Baro on offense once again attempts a long half-field kick-off shot believing that he got it right this time. However, Nagi makes it back to the goal in time to block the shoot, which Isagi manages to retrieve the loose ball. Despite that, Isagi's surprised to find that Naruhaya's already behind him blocking his path, which confuses Isagi as to how he's already there. Naruhaya then manages to steal the ball away due to catching Isagi off-guard. He then taunts Isagi that he won't lose in a 1-on-1 against the latter, and aims to shoot at the goal. However, Nagi blocking the way ends up scaring Naruhaya to passing it over to Baro, who scores the easy goal. Thus, putting Team Isagi down '''3-4''' where giving up another goal will lose the game for them.

Isagi realizes he screwed up as he tries to make sense of how Naruhaya easily got behind him unnoticed to steal the ball away. It's here that Isagi realizes the concept of off-the-ball movement in one's blind spot on the football field. That Naruhaya's always been moving in such a way that he's hidden within Isagi's blind spot when they're facing off 1-on-1. As the Isagi/Nagi duo begin their next offensive push, Isagi continues to think about blind spots, and realizes that taking advantage of one's blind spots in 1-on-1 situations is how Rin always had a leg up on him in the previous match. Isagi believes to have figured out his missing piece to score in 1-on-1 situations as he sends another pass to Nagi to once again pull off the chase-and-trap combo. Sure enough, Nagi once again gets ahead of Baro to once again perform the trap and score, which ties the game back up '''4-4'''. The next goal being it for both sides. As Nagi warns Isagi that they have to steal the ball on the next opposing push no matter what, Isagi remains lost in thought as he continues to piece things together.

!!!Chapter 54: Devour
Nagi tries to grab Isagi's attention only for Isagi to remain so focused on figuring things out that he tells Nagi to shut up. Realizing this is similar to when Isagi told him to shut up during the Team Z vs. Team V match, Nagi goes along with it knowing that Isagi's figured out how to win. The game then resumes with the Baro at half-field to try another attempt at a kick-off score. However, Nagi's positioned himself in front of the right side of the goal since it's the spot that Baro usually goes for. Naruhaya suggests that they can just dribble 2-on-1 against Isagi to reach the goal, but Baro isn't having it as he goes against his usual kick by attempting a long range half-field kick-off shot towards the goal's left corner. Due to it being an unnatural shot for Baro, it ends up bouncing off the goal's upper bar; making it a loose ball in front of the goal.

Naruhaya and Isagi both go for the loose ball, which Naruhaya turns out to be slightly ahead. With Nagi running up to him as the defender, and Isagi close behind, Naruhaya's only opening is to kick the loose ball as a direct shot into the goal rather than trying to trap it first to set up his shot. Knowing it's the only way to evolve his play, Naruhaya goes for a direct shot at the goal similar to how Isagi scores. However, Naruhaya fails to pull it off as his shot ends up bouncing off the goal's side bar. Nagi then receives the loose ball, and announces to Isagi that it's time to begin the counter-attack, which Isagi starts running towards the opposing goal ahead of Baro. Naruhaya remains behind to defend Nagi while Baro chases after Isagi, and manages to stay alongside the latter.

Having learned how off-the-ball blind spot play works, Isagi knows that Baro defending him is eventually going to drop his focus for a bit to see what Nagi's doing. The moment Baro looks towards Nagi, Isagi gets behind Baro, which when Baro looks back, he sees that Isagi's no longer there; freaking out Baro to the point of stopping to look behind him to look for Isagi. However, Isagi used the moment that Baro freaked out to quickly return back to his original position before Baro's able to locate him, which results in Isagi being able to fly down the field now wide open. Witnessing Isagi's off-the-ball play stuns Naruhaya as he realizes that Isagi copied his blind spot footwork that was allowing him to pass by his opponents 1-on-1. Meanwhile, Nagi sees what Isagi pulled off, and then sends the latter the pass. Isagi then proceeds to kick a direct shot off Nagi's pass into the goal to win the game '''5-4''', which he feels that he's now officially entered the realm of the geniuses. Meanwhile, the defeated Naruhaya's left stunned that in just a couple seconds, Isagi successfully devoured his football weapon to use it as his own.
