* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: Surprisingly [[AvertedTrope averted]]. For [[OnceASeason the only time]], the penultimate episode is ''not'' named after a Music/BruceSpringsteen song. This exception is forced by ExecutiveMeddling, and WordOfGod wishes to play it straight with the title "Livin' in the Future".

** Sara Diggle, whose existence was restored at the end of ''Crisis'' doesn't show up or is mentioned, even when Connor (now the black sheep of the Diggle children) does make an appearance at the graduation party.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: For whatever reason, Trevor seems extremely sure that his {{Mooks}} can take the 3 heroines. Unsurprisingly, he is badly mistaken.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Mia doesn't react well to having 20+ years of less-than-happy memories flooded into her head. She faints, and has a fair bit of trouble adjusting afterward. Memories of JJ's villainy also affect how she sees the current version, as she instinctively recoils from him at first.
** Mia snooping through JJ's private files and then wrongly accusing him of kidnapping doesn't do their relationship any favors.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Laurel gives Mia the pep talk to finally take up her father's mantle.

* AbsenteeActor: Oliver, if you don't consider the photos and the brief flashbacks. Also, Diggle and Rene (despite the last being mentioned). Notably, this is the only episode of ''Series/{{Arrow}}'' not to feature Creator/StephenAmell.
