* ArmorPiercingSlap: Every single one of the ex-lovers of Howard slaps Jarvis. On the last time Peggy catches the arm of the next woman, only for her to kick Jarvis in the shin instead.

* RealityEnsues: Peggy Carter shows off being an awesome OneWomanArmy... and immediately afterward is rendered helpless by one man with a gun. She eventually outwits him, though.

* SheReallyCanAct: In-universe. We first see Angie practicing for an audition, but her line reading is fairly stiff. All her previous auditions went badly too, and Angie seriously considers quitting acting and going into secretary school. When she needs to distract the SSR, though, Angie wills herself to turn on the waterworks and burst into tears over a fake anecdote about her grandma, making the agents too uncomfortable to keep questioning her. Peggy overhears it, and encourages her to keep trying out for theater after that.

* DinerBrawl: The SSR agents try to arrest Peggy in the midle of an automat and she is forced to fight her way out with Jarvis as back-up.

* RedShirt:

* ActingUnnatural: The SSR agents who clear out the automat in "A Sin To Err" continue to act like customers, perusing the menu and sitting down, even though the suddenly near-empty restaurant is a huge tipoff that something's about to happen.

* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Subverted. When going through the list of Howard Stark's most recent girlfriends, Peggy crosses out the most famous names out of doubt that they could really be undercover Leviathan assassins. Jarvis responds that the look he saw in Creator/GingerRogers's eyes as she left [[DeathGlare were the "darkest gates to the abyss"]].

* ReallyGetsAround: Tons of jokes abound about Howard Stark's [[ThePornomancer extreme playboy antics]].

* TerribleIntervieweesMontage: Jarvis and Peggy investigating several of Stark's ex-girlfriends, most of whom Jarvis had to expel personally.

* YankTheDogsChain: Just when it seems Angie's tricks worked and Peggy can get away safely, Dottie intercepts her and botches Peg's escape, causing her to be captured by the SSR.

* HypnoPendulum: Ivchenko rubs the ring on his right hand while hypnotizing subjects. The soundtrack also adopts an [[HellIsThatNoise odd, background whine]], so there may be some high-frequency mind-whammy at work.

* GenreSavvy:
** Agent Thompson realizes that Peggy can easily take out the team sent into the automat, since he just fought with her in Russia. He waits for her at the alley exit, but unfortunately for him, she takes him out as well. Later, he handcuffs her while she's still groggy, over Sousa's protest.
** Agent Yauch wonders if something is up when he notices Ivchenko's been spending a really long time in Dooley's office, even if they appear to be just talking. Unfortunately for him, [[DeathByGenreSavviness his suspicion isn't enough to stop him from becoming Ivchenko's next victim a scene later]].

While Peggy's search for Howard's thieves continue, the SSR finds damning evidence linking Carter herself to their investigation. Likewise, Leviathan agents make their move against her and the SSR.

* OneWomanArmy: Peggy is attacked in L&L's Automat by numerous SSR agents, which she gives all gives a pretty through beating. Dooley is incredulous to hear she kicked the stuffing out of all of them.

* WomanScorned: Suspecting that Howard might have had his intel compromised thanks to a FemmeFatale, Peggy and Jarvis go about inquiring his most recent girlfriends. Cue a montage of all of them slapping Jarvis upon recognizing him.

** The dentist who Dottie murders make covering it up really easy by sending away all his staff before their interview.

** Peggy receives a list from a jeweler of all the woman Howard Stark has bought bracelets for in the last six months. Jarvis comments that the list looks shorter than he expected, but it still looks to be more than three pages long.

** Angie even recites a monologue from ''Theatre/ADollsHouse'' in her audition, a play about all about an overlooked woman.

** Ivchenko's opening flashback shows him and other Russians being forced to join Leviathan. One man begs not to join, saying he wants to reunite with his wife and children. The captain there promptly kills him, and says his family will be joining him soon.

* CastingCouch: The dentist who was interviewing Dottie for an secretary job was clearly trying to maneuver her into trying this until she decided to kill him.
