Added DiffLines:

* PrinciplesZealot: She is so fixated on ''the concept'' of a "Man among men" that she lets Genma take a 5-year-old Ranma away in the middle of the night, despite ''literally'' fighting against it tooth and nail just moments before, all because Genma provided a two-part promise. Verbal: "I will make Ranma a man among men." Written: "I will commmit seppuku." While it's all fine and dandy, both ethically and legally, for Genma to sign such a contract, to trick the five-year-old Ranma to sign it by making the boy think he's doing finger painting, goes beyond the pale, even in the most "conservative" of Japanese homes. The fact that she considers the Jusenkyo curse a supernatural force beyond Ranma's control, and doesn't immediately disqualify him is a minor miracle considering this mindset, and her swords-man's "itchy trigger finger."

* FanNickname: "Voodoo Spike", because he's always running around nailing little handmade dolls to trees and gates and things, which looks like some sort of halfwit attempt at a voodoo ritual.

* AdaptationalHeroism: The anime notably toned down her nastier aspects from the manga and left out some of her most antagonistic moments.

* ClingyJealousGirl: In the manga. Perfectly willing to attack those without martial arts skills if they get too close to Ranma, most notably Nabiki during her stint as Ranma's fiancée and masterminding the attack against Miss Hinako for "using her position as a teacher to seduce Ranma".

* HopelessSuitor: Unfortunately for Ukyo, Ranma will likely never see her as more than his boyhood friend.

* LikeBrotherAndSister: It's indicated several times that Ranma and Ukyo have a brother sister type relationship, even though Ukyo constantly tries to [[EntitledToHaveYou push them to be something more]].
* LoveMakesYouEvil: Mainly in the manga, which makes her much nastier. For example, in one chapter, she joins Kodachi and Shampoo in assaulting Nabiki Tendo after she tries to auction Ranma off to them.

to:

* TomboyishPonytailTomboyishPonytail: She likes to wear her hair in a ponytail when she's crossdressing.

* {{Yandere}}: A mild case, but she tends to be a bit crazy to those she seems to like.
** Admittedly, the most widely-recognized moments when she's hit Ranma for affectionate behavior, the end of her introduction story and during the Reversal Jewel, do have extenuating circumstances. In the former, she was still mad at him, as she'd only just found him after ten years spent bearing a grudge. In the latter, she slapped Ranma for demanding she say she love him... because he was forcing her to say so mere moments after she had demanded to know the truth behind the rumors that he was plotting to confess his love for Shampoo, rumors that he refused to deny before doing so.

to:

* RapunzelHair
RapunzelHair: Her hair reaches down to her hips.
* SenseiChanSenseiChan: When she's a kid, she acts more childish than her own students, goofing off, staring into space, sleeping at her desk...

* WomanChild: Despite she's somewhere in her twenties, when she's a kid, she acts more childish than her own students, goofing off, staring into space, sleeping at her desk...

The son of a loving couple, his mother died at a young age and his father, for reasons unknown, married a grotesquely hideous woman who already had two disgusting daughters, then died himself. Jealous of Konatsu's appearance, his stepmother both raised him as a girl and treated him hideously; despite Konatsu being a prodigy in the arts of ninjitsu, he never managed to kill off his stepfamily (not through lack of trying) and was resolved to being their slave. Until the day Happosai, Soun and Genma wandered into the "Sexy Ninja Teashop" and, horrified by the fact the "sexy ninjas" were his stepfamily, destroyed it, whereupon they sent him for revenge upon Ranma. Konatsu decided he'd rather stay in Nerima, particularly after Ukyo treated him kindly and unintentionally caused him to fall in love with her, and began working at Ucchan's Okonomiyaki after his stepfamily was driven away with the help of Ukyo, Ranma and Akane. Though Ukyo still treats him in a way anyone else would consider ridiculously shabby, it's much more than he had at home and so he's content with it.

The son of A male ninja raised as a loving couple, female kunoichi by his mother died at a young age and his father, for reasons unknown, married a grotesquely hideous woman who already had two disgusting daughters, then died himself. Jealous of Konatsu's appearance, his cruel stepmother both raised him as a girl and treated him hideously; despite stepsisters. * AmbiguouslyGay: Played with. At first, Ranma and Akane assume that "she" is a lesbian when they discover Konatsu loves Ukyo. When Konatsu turns out to be a guy, it's suddenly okay... except that he has been raised as a girl, thinks of himself as one, and even believes his love for Ukyo is "forbidden." So, mentally he is, biologically he isn't.

* TheChewToy: The Universe seems to ''hate'' this boy. Forget Akane, forget Mousse's claims, or Ranma's vain melodrama. Only Ryoga has ever been as badly off as Konatsu, and only Ryu Kumon comes close.

Jealous of Konatsu's appearance, his stepmother and stepsisters treated him hideously and forced him to become their slave. Konatsu is pretty much Cinderella, except that here "she" turns out to be a man.

* DudeLooksLikeALady: Very much so.

* GenderBlenderName

to:

* GenderBlenderNameGenderBlenderName: Konatsu is a feminine Japanese name, which makes his gender reveal even more surprising.

* LongHairedPrettyBoy: He has long hair that he wears tied back in a ponytail, which only contributes to his feminine looks.

* UnsettlingGenderReveal: Does this to everyone in the cast at the end of his introductory story.

* ArrangedMarriage: When they were kids playing together, her dad brought up the idea of Ukyo marrying Ranma to Genma Saotome, who insisted Ranma was already engaged. His resistance to the idea immediately vanished when Mr. Kuonji admitted his cart was Ukyo's dowry. Not that this stopped Genma stealing the cart anyway.

** The latest OVA gives her this look as well.

* ChildhoodMarriagePromise: Via two convoluted plots, sort of. When they were kids playing together, her dad brought up the idea of Ukyo marrying Ranma to Genma Saotome, who insisted Ranma was already engaged. His resistance to the idea immediately vanished when Mr. Kuonji admitted his cart was Ukyo's dowry. Before that happened, though, she and Ranma stole the recipe for the Kuonji family's secret okonomiyaki sauce and made a batch, promising to let Ranma have the first taste (which is SeriousBusiness even in real life) if he promised that, if it was good, he would "take care of her for the rest of her life", a promise to which Ranma agreed. Unfortunately for her, Ranma still thought she was a boy at the time, and had no idea what she was asking of him to boot. Not that this stopped Genma stealing the cart anyway.
** It's made more complicated by the fact Genma claims that, before he took the cart while abandoning Ukyo, he asked Ranma which he liked better; okonimyaki, or Ukyo. Keep in mind that this is ''Genma'' we're talking about, meaning he may have been lying to shift most of the blame to Ranma. Even if it's true, he not only distracted Ranma beforehand with an okonimyaki, but was asking a little kid the answer to a question he wouldn't have understood even if he had been aware that Ukyo was actually a girl.

Added DiffLines:

* GirlNextDoor: Leaving aside the conflict in her introduction, Ukyo plays the role well. She has known Ranma since childhood and unlike most of Ranma's other suitors, he enjoys her company and sees her as a friend, and so often goes to eat at her restaurant.

* DemotedToExtra: He appears very late in the anime series and most of his roles in the earlier part of the manga were taken over by Sasuke or other one-shot filler characters.
