* [[NoNameGiven A nameless driver]] works a stuntman/mechanic by day but moonlights as a getaway driver for robberies by night. He lives in a Los Angeles apartment alone and has [[MysteriousPast no family or past to speak off]]. One day, he helps out his neighbor Irene and her son Benicio out of kindness. He eventually develops a friendly bond with Benicio and a mutual attraction for Irene. However, when Irene's husband Standard was released from prison and tries to reconnect with his family, it puts a halt into Irene's and the Driver's budding romance. Still, the Driver remains friendly with the family. All of these came ahead as Standard's criminal past caught up with him, and he was forced to do a day-time robbery by his old boss to pay for his protection money and threatens to hurt his wife and child if he refuses. The Driver offers to help Standard with the heist for the safety of Irene and Benicio. Tragically, Standard was killed in the robbery and the Driver and a cohort managed to escape the scene with the money. After a few violent confrontations, he later found out the robbery was set up to steal about a million dollars that belonged to the East Coast mob. Nino, a pizzeria owner and mobster who masterminded the plan to steal the money from the rival mob, wants the money returned to him and plans to kill all the people who may have connections with the robbery, including Standard, the Driver and Irene, in order to clean his tracks.
** The Driver tells the truth about his involvement in Standard's death, offers Irene the money, and advises that she and her son leave town for their safety. However, she slaps him and refuses his offer. As the two later went into the elevator with another man with them, the Driver notices his gun, assumed he's a hitman and needed to act fast. The Driver turns to Irene and gave one last kiss to her before he brutally beats the hitman to death, revealing his violent side to her as she leaves. After he learns that his boss and friend Shannon was killed by Nino's partner-in-crime, Bernie Rose, he decides to take revenge on both of them. After drowning Nino in the ocean, The Driver calls Bernie to let him know that his partner is dead. Bernie would propose a meeting for The Driver to give back the money in exchange for Irene and Benicio's safety. The Driver agreed to the meeting, even as he knows his life is still in danger. He makes one last phone call to Irene, telling her he is leaving and that meeting her and Benicio was the best thing that ever happened to him. Bernie and the Driver then arrived at the parking lot, where he hands over the cash. As he did so, Bernie stabs him in the abdomen, and the Driver stabs him in the neck in retaliation. Still wounded, the Driver leaves Bernie for dead next to his open bag of cash as he drives away into the night.
* After several hours of the Driver driving aimlessly into the night, he eventually parks his car at the side of the road and gradually lose consciousness due to blood loss from his injuries. He woke up at daytime to find that the stab wound on his abdomen was gone, and found himself in a part of town he didn't recognize. He also found a strange letter in his windshield, a cryptic letter saying some nonsense about being a God and telling him of directions where he needed to go. With nothing to lose, he followed the directions to an auto shop just from the outskirts of the one of the main Pantheon Houses. He was surprised to see his old boss Shannon there, alive and well, and the cut in his arm that claimed his life was gone as well. Although, he is just as clueless as the Driver on how he turned up alive or where he currently is. With him coming close to dead, his injuries completely gone and his strange circumstances, the Driver assumes he is in some sort of afterlife and accepts it rather calmly (with his boss coming into a similar conclusion). He and Shannon decided to set up shop in the auto shop they have found (which acts as a temple), and resume as car mechanics again, hoping to lie low and try to maintain a normal life once more.
* According to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drive_(novel) the original source]], as his story takes place [[TheFilmOfTheBook in another version of this world]], the Driver didn't have a stable home-life growing up. As a kid, his thieving father used him to break into homes due to his small size. His mother later killed his father and he was sent to foster parents until he moved out. Whatever happened between when he left his foster parents' home and the events of his story is not really explained. Back into our Driver, we don't really know if he has the same past as his original counterpart. Considering his involvement in crime and reluctance to disclose his past, it's safe to assume he didn't have a good home-life either. What we do know is that around 5-6 years ago before the events of his story, the Driver arrived to Shannon's auto shop asking for a job and was hired based on his car-related skills. Shannon, jokingly but in his own words, has been "exploiting" him ever since, employing him as a skilled mechanic and later to assist in arranging the cars the Driver would use for his various assignments.
* The Driver always had an interest with cars. In the original source, before he moved out of his foster home, he hanged out around the desert racetrack and drive around the cars his mechanic friend had modded to test them out. He had a fondness of driving ever since. As most of his related skills are based around cars, it's safe to assume our Driver has a similar fondness for them too. He also resumed applying for stunt driving jobs in the House of Pantheon/TheatreAndSpectacle and their car business resumed supplying and repairing the stunt cars for said House. One would assume that there wasn't a need for stunt drivers due to the [[DeathIsCheap Pantheon's resurrection polices]]. But as not all actors are skilled at driving, are willing to do their own stunts, and that there is still the risk of getting hurt during production (which would slow down production time), stunt drivers like him are still needed in that House. The Driver doesn't have much opinion on this job other than it is additional income for their business, and it's a good way to apply his driving skills legally.
* Ever since the city of [[Pantheon/AdministrativeCenters Los Angeles]] was declared a divine domain, there was an increase in robberies due to being one of the wealthier cities in the US. A would-be criminal not native to the City of Angels may have a harder time planning an escape route. If for whatever reason their usual gateway driver is unavailable, the various deified criminals would need to search for a replacement (especially one who knows the layout of the city so well). Some of them have heard of a very skilled gateway driver from LA and their criminal contacts were able to locate and contact him for a future assignment. When offered to do the job from them, he had agreed to do those heists for pragmatic reasons: because he needed the money to sustain his business.
** The Driver is very impersonal when he comes to his clients, not wanting to know them personally or why they are doing their respective heists. All he needed to learn is the time and place, and he'll meticulously plan the rest. He'll give the thieves five minutes to do their thing before driving off, no questions asked. The only caveat on all this is that he usually only take that client once and never again (as asking him again would really piss him off). It's unknown why, but it's assumed it's to prevent him from being further implicated in his clients' heist. For these reasons, the thieves would only hire him if they are in desperate need of a driver. But once he's able to do his job, he's able to evade most non-superpowered law enforcement with relative ease.
* Given their accidental involvement with TheMafia lead to each other's deaths, the Driver and Shannon try to avoid dealing with any mafia related deities. The Driver doesn't even take assignments from them, not trusting if he's going to be alive by the end of it. Various mobsters, like the Corleones and the [=DiMeo=] Crime Family, have heard of a gateway driver who have managed to kill two mob members and have been on their guard more than usual, to the point of considering trying to screen potential getaway drivers, should they ever had a need for one. Other crime bosses like The Kingpin and The Penguin don't seem to fear the Driver given that they are capable fighters in their own right, and compared to the superheroes they have to deal with, the Driver seems like a joke compared to them. Still, given that he can still hurt their henchmen and fellow mafia associates, they also try to be cautious should they ever cross paths with him.
* Claude, a criminal of unknown background, is a frequent customer in Driver's auto shop. They don't talk to each other much, but they were able to form some sort of mutual understanding with each other. It's because of him did the Driver started to encounter [[Pantheon/GrandTheftAuto the other gods from his world]]. Through Claude's allies, he learns that they had a lot more in common than they thought: both had relations with a criminal's lover, both were betrayed during a robbery that was meant to kill them, and both are willing to get their hands dirty to seek revenge on those who wronged them.
** For the most part, he gets along with other criminals from Claude's world (like Carl "CJ" Johnson, Niko Bellic, and the Los Santos trio). It helps that each of them had experiences with crime and betrayals during their respective stories (with all of them succeeding on getting their revenge). Plus, they were frequent customers of his auto shop due to their frequent handling of various cars. He doesn't trust everyone from their world, though. The Driver has worked with the corrupt millionaire Donald Love, upon Claude's recommendation, once to deliver a mysterious package to him. While Donald Love has not attempted to betray the Driver yet, his previous association with Dimitri Rascalov and Tommy Vercetti (both of whom he distrusted more due to their current mafia affiliations), he's not willing to fully trust him either.
* The Driver has come to learn of other people who have been betrayed by the Mafia. One of them was Tommy Angelo, a taxi-driver-turned-mafia-member-turned-police-informant after he was betrayed by his mob associates. Given that Tommy is no longer on the side of crime unlike the Driver, they are hesitant fully trust each other. But given their mutual distrust for the Mafia as well as their respect for each other's driving skills, they are not opposed to working with each other should they be unfortunate enough to cross paths with the Mafia again. Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro were also have been in a similar situation as Tommy Angelo, who have also experienced various betrayals by the Mafia. But given the two having resumed their criminal activities in the Pantheon, with Vito possibly being a crime boss himself, the Driver isn't willing to trust them. He had a much easier time befriending Lincoln Clay, who retired from the mafia and became a drifter after he had got his revenge over the crime family he worked for. He also gets along with hitman Jimmy and former CIA agent John Donovan, although he isn't interested in just solely taking out Mafia members unless they had personally crossed him.
* One day, the Driver received a mysterious package in his temple, which contained a frog mask and an invitation to a sketchy location. The Driver ignored the packages until he suddenly received several calls, saying they are planning to hurt Shannon should they not comply with their demands. Wanting to get to the bottom of this, he did some research and found out about a group known as 50 Blessings, who recruited people into committing murders against the Russian mafia to drum up anti-Russian sentiments. The Driver was under the assumption they have heard of his killings of a few hitmen and mafia members and took an interest in enacting murders on their behalf. He asked his allies and contacts about the group and their underling in order to confront them. Through these, he found and befriended Richter Berg, a masked assassin who formerly worked under them, although he only does his work for his mother's safety. Being forced into committing crimes for the sake of their loved one reminded him of Standard and himself. He also got acquainted with The Masked Maniac, only known as Jacket, a former target for Richter and who also worked under 50 Blessings [[spoiler:(although he doesn't know he too was also being manipulated by them)]]. As someone who has had bad experiences with the Russian mob, he pities the Driver due to his encounters with mobsters and his subsequent demise by one of them.
** Through them, the Driver managed to track down an associate of 50 Blessings. After making the associate sing due to threats of hitting him with The Driver's hammer, they told him they have long abandoned the Masked Killings since their ascension, as the Pantheonic Police were already aware of their modus operandi. The Driver, undeterred, went back to square one and managed to track down the packages to their senders, The Fans, a group of {{Loony Fan}}s of Jacket. He called them and only asked one of them to meet up with him without bringing any weapons, to which their leader Tony decided to take the offer. Speaking on their behalf, they were interested in recruiting the Driver into their group, seeing as his own jacket and hearing about his feats of violence reminded them of their idol (which is fitting as Jacket is often considered an Main/{{Expy}} of the Driver himself). They also assume he shares their love for violence as well (he does not). When he started to ignore their package, they started to threaten to hurt his boss to get his attention. His fellow gang members later found Tony laying in a pool of blood and a shoe-shaped dent in his head, well aware of the Driver's answer to their invitation.
* In a lot of ways, the Driver and taxi driver Travis Bickle have a lot in common. Both are mentally unwell loners with violent tendencies but can still hold a normal job. Both have [[ChronicHeroSyndrome wanted to become the "hero"]], even risking their lives for someone that they haven't known for very long, and violently killing people who become a threat to them. The main difference is that the Driver can be quiet and sociable, is no stranger to crime, and mostly draws blood out of revenge for his loved ones; while Travis is someone with NoSocialSkills, has a dim view of society in general, and is [[VigilanteMan willing to kill anyone he perceived as "wicked"]]. He has first heard of Travis after hearing his infamous reputation in the Pantheon. Travis first heard of the Driver as he was travelling to LA for a brief while, first seeing him during one of his heists he was driving for. Travis thought about enacting violence on the Driver, even driving to the Driver's temple to stalk him, to which the Driver noticed his glares. Travis then reconsidered attacking him and started seeing him more favorably, after he heard about his situation with the Mafia, their commonalities, and how he protected his lover and her child at the cost of his life. After confronting and chatting with each other, they have agreed to stay out of each other's way, should they avoid a violent confrontation in the future.
* The NASCAR driver Richard Petty was one of the first car-related clients of their auto shop, and one of the few customers they had that wasn't involved in crime at all. After some small talk with Shannon, he discovered that the Driver was going to participate in a race, but the plans fell through (but didn't tell Petty that it didn't work out because Bernie Rose, who was at first interested in investing a racecar from Shannon and have the Driver drive it, betrayed and killed both of them). Petty offered the Driver to demonstrate his racing skills and when the Driver got going behind the wheel, Petty was really impressed in what he saw. He then offered the Driver if he can participate in official races one day. While Shannon was ecstatic for the offer, the Driver was hesitant on taking it, not wanting the attention drawn on himself if he ever gained fame as a racer. Still, Petty remains a good auto shop client to their business as long as he remains unaware about the Driver's criminal past.
* Dominic Toretto, a former illegal street racer and fugitive, has heard of the Driver from the grapevine due to the recent criminal activity in the LA area. As a fellow LA resident, Dom took interest in recruiting him in his band of government-sanctioned [[KarmicThief karmic car-jackers]], which lead him to going to the auto shop that he runs. After learning about his recent racing demonstration with Petty, Dom decided to asked the Driver to compete in a friendly street race with him (to which he agreed). Dom won that race, but he was really impressed on the maneuvers the Driver took (although he never mentioned if he ever competed in illegal street racing at any point). Dom also respected the Driver after leaning about how he was willing to help out and protect his neighbor's family, reminding Dom on how dedicated he was in protecting his own crew. After much thinking however, the Driver declined his offer to join him on the account of wanting to lie low (and his crew's missions are not the sort of thing he would do), although they remain allies. The Driver also got acquainted with Dominic's best friend Brian O'Conner, who is currently retired from criminal life. He gained similar respect for him after learning about the Driver from Dom, being someone with a family of his own.
* It should be noted that the Driver has never being involved in any drug related crimes. That all changed when he met the chemistry-teacher-turned-drug-kingpin, Walter White. Walt first went to the Driver's auto shop to have his Pontiac Aztek be looked at. The Driver and Shannon looked at Walt, curious about [[Creator/BryanCranston his similar looks to Shannon]], although they quickly got over it. Their initial interaction with Walt appeared to be friendly at first. Due to his prior connections to the criminal underworld, Walt then recognized the Driver as the skilled getaway driver from LA he's been hearing about. He then offers the Driver to do some deliveries to the City of Angels; some new associates of his have duffle bags with them, and they were to be dropped off somewhere in the city. Thinking it was just an ordinary robbery job, the Driver agreed to do this one favor for him and letting him know of his strict guidelines. Sometime after he did his delivery, he watched some news about an increase of addicts and crimes related to blue crystal meth in the LA area that was unheard off before. The Driver was smart enough to put two and two together, and when Walt tried to meet up with the Driver to possibly do a second run, he snapped at Walt, angry at being deceived yet again. The Driver threaten him to hurt him if he's unwittingly involved in the drug trade again, and that was the end of their brief partnership.
** Jesse Pinkman also had his car looked at the same auto shop a few weeks after the incident. It startled him when he first saw Shannon, [[spoiler:thinking this is another identity Walt has changed into]]. The Driver saw Jesse's nervous look and clarifies the situation that Shannon was not Walt, correctly assuming he's reacting that way due to meeting Walter White before. The Driver then asked Jesse about the blue meth (and told him about his involvement with Mr. White). Jesse, a bit hesitantly, told about his prior animosities with his former teacher and partner Mr. White, as well as his own past as a meth cook. Jesse wanting to leave the criminal life due to his many misfortunes and wanting to protect his girlfriend and her child, reminded the Driver of both himself and Standard. He befriended Jesse after that, and Jesse learned about the Driver's recent past and how he died protecting his lover and her child, with Jesse noting that [[spoiler:he himself failed to save both of his girlfriends]] and envies the Driver in that regard.
* The Driver met the widow Sarah Collins as she was a friend of Jesse. As the Driver was a kind-looking guy, they initially formed a friendship and hang out with each other more often. Sarah was even comfortable enough to tell about her past to him and even have him look after her kids when Jesse is away. Over time, the Driver had fallen for Sarah, although he himself wasn't sure if his feelings for the widow was [[ReplacementGoldfish due to her similarities with Irene]] (being a hard-working single mom who was once married to a criminal) and/or a genuine respect for her. One unfortunate day however, as the Driver and Sarah was on their way to the Driver's car at a parking lot near a bar they went to, they were ambushed by two random thugs with guns (presumably sent by Mr. White after The Driver turned down their partnership). The Driver was able to disarm and quickly stab one of the thugs and then stabbed him repeatedly out of pure rage. Sarah was also able to disarm and shot the second thug dead right in the head twice. When the deed was done, they looked into each other and was at a lost for words, having seen their violent side for the first time. Although they don't really arbor any hard feelings after that since they are only protecting each other, the Driver and Sarah mutually decided to stop seeing each other soon after, both for her and her kids' safety. The Driver did called her after that to tell her that she reminded him of a kind mother he used to know and that he enjoyed her company as much as when he was with her.
* Based on the Driver's violent outburst, his lack of reaction to blood, and his willingness to kill, it's safe to assume he's already a harden criminal by the time we meet him. As mentioned before, his violence is mostly done out of self-defense or revenge. Although as implied when he gets verbally aggressive at returning clients, he can barely keep his anger in control. He has heard of the legendary hitman [[Pantheon/AlignmentChanges John Wick]], who retired after marrying his wife and came back after someone killed his dog (which was a gift from his late wife) and murdered the people responsible for it. The Driver mused about it for a moment; whether he was to give up his criminal life should he even had a chance with Irene. Well, it's too late to think about that now. He's not interested in getting into the hitman business either. They haven't met each other yet; but if they had, he wonders if they might get along with each other.
* That night as he mused about his thoughts and drive around LA by himself, he had a "daydream" (or more accurately, [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driven_(novel) a vision from another world]]). In it, he survived being stabbed, gave up his life of crime, took a new name, founded a business and lived peacefully with his fiancée. All of it came crashing down however and he was back to his old ways once again to seek revenge on what he lost. His mind then returned to reality, pondering if he could ever escape his past or if it is destined to follow him. He sometimes wonder if his whole experience in the Pantheon was just [[AdventuresInComaland all in his unconscious mind]] and he would awake up one day to have his story [[https://www.mtv.com/news/gkf93l/drive-sequel-ryan-gosling continue where it left off or be involved in someone else's tale]]. Only time would tell and for now, he would just rather live in the moment.
''"Can I talk to you? I won't keep you long. I have to go somewhere and I don't think I can come back. But I just wanted you to know getting to be around you and Benicio was the best thing that ever happened to me."''

* By the turn of the millenium, the folks at Creator/ImageComics were at a bad place. MediaNotes/TheDarkAgeOfComicBooks went bust on them. While Spawn remained, they needed a new comic to attract the masses. They got just the person in 2003. Codenamed Invincible, Mark Grayson became the new face for Image Comics for that decade. His story was one a ComingOfAgeStory that took a turn no person could have imagined. Nevertheless, his books had recently ended. While he was no longer the flagship of Image, Spawn, Alana and Marko decided to pool their resources to bring him over into the Pantheon.

* Like a few other superheroes, he was eager to [[JumpedAtTheCall become a superhero as soon as he gained his powers]]. Even with all the trauma he endured, he still encourages others to join the House of Heroes. While a pacifist, The Bard admired Mark's convictions.
* Very few people can question why he hates Regime Superman so much: [[spoiler: His own father, Omni-Man was one of his greatest generals before he found out he killed the Guardians of the Globe. After receiving a vicious NoHoldsBeatdown from him, he just left. But that wasn't the end. Soon, other Viltrumites tried to invade his world on multiple occasions. [[RedemptionEqualsDeath costing him his life in the process]]. A plaque detailing his complicated history can be found outside the temple]].
** Has only slightly more sympathy towards the Plutonian only because he only snapped before turning evil. He's not truly ready to forgive the former superhero for his crimes, though.
* The only other people he hates as much as the two above are the Kankers as well as the subhouse of Tainted Love in general. The reasoning is also a personal one. [[spoiler: One of the Viltrumites who stayed in earth wanted to birth a son from him. After he refused, she proceeded to rape him. The accuser later died in the final battle, but their son ended up being a superhero himself. ** Red Sonja was impressed with his opposition and has sought to help him out in that regard. [[spoiler: Not surprising as she too was a victim of rape.]]
** Absolutely hates Griffith for putting Casca through a similar fate. Guts may not go far as to call him allies, but any enemy of Griffith is someone worthy of hanging around with him.
** In some ways, [[MiseryBuildsCharacter his character growth]] has a similar trajectory with Avatar Korra. It took a lot of willpower for the two to overcome their pitfalls. Still, the two enjoy the company; Mark thinks her elemental powers are awesome while Korra is impressed with his strength.
* [[spoiler: In the end, he succeeded in defeating the Viltrumites once in for all. He and Atom ended up exploring other worlds to make amends for all his peoples' atrocities. * Little is known about Zasalamel. A being whose age is [[TimeAbyss so vast]] to the point it's difficult to trace back his origins and is someone whose {{Immortality}} revolves around {{Reincarnation}}, Zasalamel is mysterious in nearly every way, even his motives and goals are up for anyone's guess. That said, it is rumored that underneath the gloomy and silent man is someone who is motivated to do good, but this hasn't been disclosed as now.
** Zasalamel was a being who actually [[ImmortalitySeeker desired immortality]] at one point. The extent of this interest was so high he began to dabble into arcane magic to achieve it. Unfortunately for him, his enjoyment was not to last long, as he soon realized ImmortalityHurts whenever he died and that the process of being [[BornAgainImmortality reincarnated]] was daunting, causing Zasalamel to fall to depression and find a means to wash away his eternal life so that he may finally die forever. He saw Soul Calibur and Soul Edge as a means to finally achieve said goal, but soon realized that humanity would grow and prosper to new heights in the future. Impressed and amazed, Zasalamel decided to abandon his old goals and seek to look for ''true'' immortality so that he could live up to a point where humankind is at a prosperous age. Overtime, he would give out his goals to an [[VideoGame/SoulCaliburVI earlier incarnation]] so he could seek to use Soul Calibur and Soul Edge for a much greater cause.
*** Due to his reincarnating nature, it is incredibly difficult to pinpoint where Zasalamel came from. Some speculate that he came from Babylon and Akkadia, given that its flag is his nationality symbol. For now, Zasalamel has made no comment.
* Zasalamel entered the Pantheon after receiving visions of a [[ForeverWar great battle between different factions]] and numerous races and settings he never knew about. After learning of Nightmare's presence there and to make sure that his influence doesn't cause further damage and corruption, Zasalamel quickly embarked into a new land, one where his plans may or may not go off unnoticed.
* As befitting of his reputation in his world, Zasalamel is one of the more enigmatic figures in the Pantheon. No one's really sure of what to make of him and seriously doubt whether he's a villain or not. It's not helped by the fact that Zasalamel is so isolated and quiet about his reception that he rarely even bothers to try to explain his overall goals to others. Though time will tell as usual.
* Lucifer and the Emperor of Mankind are two of the few beings who are aware of Zasalamel's goals and plans and have commended high praise for him in that regard. Zasalamel on the other hand doesn't really have much to add on to their compliments, but given that the three of them are firm believers of [[HumansAreSpecial the uniqueness of Humanity]], he accepts it nonetheless. That said, he has difficulty in seeing whether he can trust the GUAC, given that some of the members are unambiguously evil and sees the Emperor's stance on Xenophobia as somewhat problematic. He's open to working for both of them, but isn't exactly fully trusting of them.
** On a similar note, Zasalamel is also making plans to supply information and support to the GUAG in the hopes that it could help in the battle against the GUAE and GUAD. Cosmos is somewhat wary, given that Zasalamel is rather quiet and tends to send his resources rather abruptly. Some heroes are however, willing to accept his help, though getting to find him has been a rather difficult stretch.
* His ability to [[TimeMaster control time]] has made him associated with time-associated deities like Barry Allen, Homura Akemi and Lord English. Zasalamel clearly opposes the latter whereas his working relations with the other two is difficult at best; Barry is suspicious of Zasalamel's true motives and Homura is trying to keep an eye out to see if Zasalamel is truly living up to his goals. They have some common enemies to fight against for now and the two have occasionally work with Zasalamel in investigative and arcane cases.
* Nagato is one of the only beings in the Pantheon that is willing to fully accept Zasalamel in his goals, even allowing him a position in a new organization he is planning out, composed of [[AntiHero morally]] [[AntiVillain ambiguous]] [[WellIntentionedExtremist yet good-intentioned]] [[UnscrupulousHero individuals]]. However, Zasalamel still has ties to the GUAC and the Emperor of Mankind and is seeking to tread his relations carefully. All that aside, him and Nagato are on good terms and are willing to fight together.
* Despite a rocky start, him and Guts get along rather well, with Zasalamel even taking to search for intel and information regarding Griffith. Guts has respected the gesture. Dr. Manhattan is another notable alliance as the true are rather mysterious and occasionally conspicuous. Zasalamel impresses Dr. Manhattan in regards to pushing forward to see a new age for Humanity and given the latter is starting to regain some semblance of human connection and relation, he sees the former as a good friend.
* He was alerted with serious concern about the Vex, beings who manipulate time and pose an omnicidal threat to humanity and all sapient races in general. Zasalamel seeks to find as many potential allies as possible in the hopes of stopping them. He is however, perplexed to see that the Vex are among the first beings in existence and that they would have succeeded in their goal of universal assimilation/subjugation had it not been for the battles against Light and Darkness.
* Zasalamel has a rather interesting viewpoint regarding Qin Shu Huang, who is also endowed with {{Immortality}}. On one hand, he likes the latter for attempting to preserve and protect humanity, but was disappointed in the fact that Quin Shi would deprive his people from education rendering them illiterate, something which Zasalamel sees as conterporductive and not helping in leading Humanity to a golden age. That said, he was pleased to see Quin Shi reform in some ways and be dedicated to protecting humanity. As a result, the two would often work together, although it can be strenuous at best, given Qin Shi's rather questionable acts in pursuing his goals which tend to counteract Zasalamel's more careful and pragmatic approach.
* Some deities are rather surprised to see that Zasalamel is good acquaintances with Gilgamesh [[ItsAllAboutMe of all people]]. The two are known to meet up with one another and share decent conversations. It turns out that Gilgamesh is also a believer of HumansAreSpecial just like Zasalamel and that Zasalamel sees him as a worthy ally, given that Soul Edge is actually terrified of the King of Heroes.
** Gilgamesh aside, Zasalamel does respect and work with King Arthur as well, given that one of his actions before his death was to influence his followers into forming the Aval Organization in order to combat against Soul Edge and the Malfested. That said, he doesn't know what to think of regarding Arthur's gender-bent counterpart, [[Pantheon/{{Monarchs}} Artoria]]. While Zasalamel thinks she is a fine example of humanity's greatness, the fact that he is allies with Gilgamesh makes approaching Artoria somewhat difficult on his end.
* Knowing that the Malfested are a dire threat to humanity, Zasalamel is staunch allies with Grøh and Hilde and isn't afraid of fighting alongside them when given the chance. That said, Nightmare's influence in the Pantheon has been noted to be greater than from his home world. He speculates that this may have something to do with the nature and presence of other great evils such as [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Melkor]] and [[Pantheon/UndeadAndPhasmata Nekron]]. He spends much of his time delving into as much research as he could in the hopes of find a means to permanently stop the Malfested's presence. Though so long as Nightmare and Soul Edge are still around, it's going to be a tough fight.
* Unbeknownst to nearly everyone, Zasalamel resides in a isolated library with hardly anyone around to notice him. Secretly, he's been collecting information about the Pantheon, it's inhabitants and ascended deities, the numerous events that have gone by and knowledge about various [[MacGuffin MacGuffins]] and special items. It's not known how much information he has exactly collected, but it has been estimated that Zasalamel constantly updates his archives and has stashed a lot of information already, enough to provide an advantage to those who receive it first. Zasalamel has made no comment about it for now.
** Zasalamel visits the House of Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} rather frequently and has consulted with the likes of Histoire and The Librarian. His hospitality has allowed him to be in good graces with them and it's been noted that he reads a lot, though some think he secretly steals books. Zasalamel also attends the House of Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery, though many of the deities there are suspicious and are not too willing to allow Zasalamel to practice his magical abilities there. Nevertheless, he's still finding other means to further his own powers.
* Has made a goal to monitor and investigate the newly emerging astral fissures in the Pantheon due to Soul Edge's presence. The GUAC and the GUAG have taken to consider helping Zasalamel about quelling the fissures and stopping potential uprisings of Malfested. It is during these moments that the GUAC and GUAG put aside their doubts into working with with him.
* Learning from his future self's visions, Zasalamel has learned that by combining the powers of Soul Calibur and Soul Edge, he can transform into a being known as [[CosmicHorror Abyss]]. He seeks to avoid this, but it seems that combining the two swords without the risk is rather difficult. Additionally, Zasalamel is not happy to hear that Abyss starts taking cues from some of Soul Edge's feelings. Luckily enough, now that he has this information, he knows he doesn't have to undergo said transformation without knowing it.

* Enemies: [[Pantheon/{{Beginnings}} Paul and Peter]], [[Pantheon/CriminalActions Walter White]], [[Pantheon/{{Words}} Tony Montana]], [[Pantheon/MusicalCompositions Alex DeLarge]]
* Susy is a vivacious young woman who has been blinded in a car accident for a year. When a doll stuffed with heroin was brought to her apartment by her husband, a trio of thugs led by Harry Roat broke into it in order to retrieve the doll back and convinced Susy that her spouse had been implicated in the crime and the only way to protect him is to surrender the doll. However, she proves to be resourceful and intelligent, which ultimately gives her an edge against the criminals. The Main House is rather sympathetic to her situation, and decided to ascend her for ProtectThisHouse.
* Her temple is pretty much a recreation of her apartment. One improvement that was given to her new temple is that it was given a new security system that's intended to ward off potential criminals from vandalizing it. Not that it prevented them from finding ways to hack through the system. Additionally, her husband, Sam, as well as Gloria also reside in that temple and has served as her heralds.
* One particular deity that she is close with is Kevin [=McCallister=], given their shared situation of having to deal with their house being invaded by a group of criminals. Kevin views Susy as a sort of mother figure, and sometimes, he would even come to her house to care for her due to her blindness. Thanks to Kevin, she has gotten into setting up traps in her house in case someone breaks into her apartment again.
* Matt Murdock has also expressed an interest in Susy, impressed that a blind person like her was capable of defending herself against a group of criminals. While the two don't interact much, they remain good friends.
** Besides Daredevil, another blind person she is also on good terms is Toph Bei Fong. Susy is impressed with how a young blind girl like Toph can be capable of wielding earth powers.
** As a blind cat, Jayfeather can relate to Susy's difficulties and angst in living in blindness. He drops by her temple regularly to check on her and Susy has learned to expect him and leave treats for him. Consequently Susy is one of the few deities Jayfeather isn't a jerk to.
* She doesn't seem to have a liking for Peter and Paul, given that they would sneak up to different houses by having certain residents of said houses play a game, only to have them murdered. The two seem to have no problem wanting to play said game with her, but Susy, having learned from her experiences, has constantly refused to let them in her apartment. She's also wary of Alex [=DeLarge=] and his droogs as they tend to attack people in whatever house they come across.
* Another person that Susy had to deal with is Walter White, who seems to be interested in a doll that has cocaine inside. She has tried to avoid him after she heard about his connections with the drug ordeal. Tony Montana has also expressed equal interest on the doll as he felt that it could potentially give him a profit from the cocaine trade, which Susy has also objected to.
* Became allies with both Laurie Strode and Marion Crane after hearing how both of them went through similar situations as she did. She is especially close with Laurie, who also had to deal with a home invasion, but also feels sorry for Marion given that the latter didn't survive her visit to the Bates Motel.
* Lisbeth Salander also ended up siding with Susy because she tends to be a defender of women who are disadvantaged in some way. Lisbeth would give Susy some advice in self-defense and get back at those who assail the blind woman. In turn, Susy, being a big believer in being nice to everyone, serves as a MoralityPet to Lisbeth.
* Susy has also befriended Leon and Mathilda after hearing how the latter had her own problems because of her family being involved in drug-dealing and getting murdered by a corrupt officer who was also involved in the business. That, and Leon has recommended Mathilda to stay with Susy whenever he's at work in hopes that Susy will serve as a good influence for the little girl.

* Enemies: The Hall of Demons as well as other ascended devils in the Pantheon, [[Pantheon/{{Commerce}} Mr. Burns]], [[Pantheon/BusinessesAndCorporations Conal Cochran]], [[Pantheon/SelfHatred Judge Doom]], The Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfMachines
* Due to a seemingly innocent deal between a couch potato and a convincing salesman, Roy Knable would unknowningly set up a [[DealWithTheDevil dangerous deal]] with the demonic company known as Hell Vision, trapping him and his wife Helen into the new TV's [[NumberOfTheBeast 666]] exclusive channels, where they both had to survive for 24 hours or else they'd lose their souls to the devil.
* On one uneventful night, the parents would go to sleep, only to reawaken in a whole new place that was completely unfamiliar to them. Checking their technology to make sure they didn't use any suspicious devices, and checking themselves to see if they were turned into cartoons again, the two Knables would venture out to be greeted by several deities, who had decided that based on their adventures as mortals, that they were to be ascended under the trope of TrappedInTVLand. Unlike a majority of deities who came into the Pantheon, both Roy and Helen wanted '''[[ScrewThisImOuttaHere out]]''', not wanting to get involved in more kinds of perils, much as many sane men and women would have chosen at first. Even learning of the resurrection-based immortality and that the Pantheon wasn't completely run by demons convinced them to stay. Though, life at home was uneventful for them after their experiences within the TV shows, so the two parents eventually accepted on the condition that their children could stay with them as heralds, which was an accepted request.
--> '''Roy''': You know, I may still have some problems keeping my eyes away from the TV, but [[JustForFun/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife wasting my life in some place dedicated to pointing out common elements in televised media?]] Not even I'd do that!
--> '''Helen''': Well, I'm glad to see that even you [[SelfDeprecation have standards.]]
* Obviously, they keep away from all the Hall of Demons and any other ascended devil in the Pantheon, knowing far better to make more deals with them. The same applies to any figurative devil in the Pantheon, including any problematic companies. They're opposed to both Mr. Burns, Conal Cochran, and similar companies they're allied with for their malicious practices. It's not like Roy needs to buy a new TV, since the Pantheon gave him a much better TV than the one he's familiar with in his mortal life, though Helen makes sure he doesn't get addicted to TV again.
* The both of them can be seen working in the House of Profession, doing work as they did back in their own mortal lives, with Roy also being part of the [[Pantheon/{{School}} Elysium Academy]] to train other learning deities to fence. They'd rather not get involved in all of the crazier occurrences within the Pantheon, let alone the ForeverWar between various alliances in the Pantheon. Figuring that they'll still be pulled in conflicts from time to time, the Knables decided that they have no reason to look for more trouble anyways. As such, they get along with other deities that simply want to continue a somewhat normal life in the Pantheon.
* The two Knables got along with Gex and Viewtiful Joe, who both also traveled through TV worlds just as they did, and making a living through it. The Knables are impressed that they made entering and surviving nasty television shows a profession for themselves, which even Roy, a fellow TV addict, would be hesitant to do. They reassured them that the job simply wasn't for everyone, and that their respect was mutual for going through their feud with Hell Vision. However, Gex noticed something rather perilous with their high priest, who the Knables were completely unaware of, Gex's archnemesis Rez, known for trapping others within his Media Dimension, and someone who they would all oppose for such reasons, hoping that Rez doesn't find another way to enter the Pantheon.
* Another TV lover they're friends with is Timmy Turner, who is especially a big fan of the Crimson Chin, a superhero that managed to be brought into the world outside of television with use of his fairies' wishes. Being a genuinely heroic guy, the Knables can consider him a good guy to be around. They're a little unsure of what to think about Timmy's sometimes problematic use of wishes, but they do have some pity on how his parents are negligent of their son at times, hoping they never become anything like them either. There was also Eustace Bagge who also likes to watch television, but they just consider him an annoying CrankyNeighbor for the most part.
* Having been turned into cartoon characters for a bit while trapped in TV, they've given respect towards Eddie and Roger Rabbit who are experienced with interactions between real people and other toons themselves. While they don't ever plan to become toons again, they're more than wary enough of Judge Doom who could certainly threaten to kill them with The Dip should they be forced to become toons again. Having been cartoon mice in particular, they also get along with Jerry, and while Tom reminds them of the Robo-Cat that tried to catch them before, their views on him are neutral.
* During their mishaps with Hell Vision's killer channels, they were forced to fight against Hell Vision's own wrestlers, The Gorgons, for their survival. While Roy knew about how [[WrongGenreSavvy wrestling matches are generally staged,]] this only got Roy in trouble as he got beaten up by Mr. Gorgon. Ever since the Knables got past the encounter (mostly Helen's efforts), they both have gotten a newfound respect of all the wrestling deities in the Pantheon, understanding their work a little better. The wrestling deities are a bit impressed (and intimidated) by how savagely Helen made [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown quick work out of the Gorgons]] once Mrs. Gorgon decided to [[BerserkButton rip out a bit of her hair.]] She may still be a Quasideity, but they know better than to be on the other end of her rage.
* While Helen's happy that Roy's gotten over his obsession with TV, she does note that he sometimes gets attached to his television for a little too long on occasion. It's never gotten as problematic as when it began to tear their relationship apart, but it mildly upsets her that Roy never gets bored of TV. She once went to a library to ponder about how people don't seem to get into books like how we do with television these days, and Lex the Bookworm heard her words as misinterpreted them as a certain request, and one ''ZAP'' later, Helen would find trapped in a city within a book she was reading. With Roy learning of the event, he helped Helen find a way out of the book, and they left Lex's library, startled that even ''books'' had the potential to suck you in and make you go through their narratives.
--> '''Helen:''' You know, when I was thinking about getting into books, ''this'' was not what I was asking for.
* They were intrigued by the Investigation Team's ventures in the TV World they went through, even if their interactions with the Midnight Channel weren't something they expected. Surprised that the TV World they're familiar with could grant them special abilities, especially gaining a Persona, the Knables are impressed by how they used the TV World to solve things like murder cases. Similarly, they got along with their ally Ryotaro Dojima who was a detective that formerly had an estranged relationship with his daughter due to a case involving his wife's murder, holding much pity for him. They do remind each other that a balance between personal issues and professional work is necessary for maintaining families, which they can all get behind.
* Welcomed in the House of Family for getting past a situation that threatened to tear it apart, as mundane as the Knables in relation to many deities in the Pantheon. The Knable parents also found themselves being rather relatable to the Simpson parents, both being parts of similarly sized families, though the latter family finds themselves more used to chaotic situations than the former. Helen and Marge found good friends in each other to talk to, and Roy found good buddies in Homer for their mutual love of donuts. Both Roy and Homer also had a mutual interest in wanting to be better for their family, both having their own needs to improve.
* In their temple, which resembles their normal house, Roy has a fencing trophy, having been quite an experienced fencer himself. Soon enough, it would lead into meeting the famous Zorro who Roy recognized from all the TV he's watched. Somehow, there was a bet made between the two that led to them getting caught up in a fencing duel. While Zorro would end up winning the duel, Zorro would be surprised at how competent Roy was with the rapier, being a difficult opponent to triumph against. This would get Roy challenged by Puss in Boots later on, and the two managed to duel to a standstill for a few minutes, Roy being surprised he was fencing with an anthromorphic cat in the first place. Ending the fight early, Roy had managed to earn the respect of both fencers, though both note that his stamina is something that could be worked on.
* They both ran into the deity holding the opposing trope to theirs, Xingo, once while heading back from doing their usual jobs. Wanting to show the two Knables his definition of fun, he decided to show them some of his best pranks, one of which involved turning them back into cartoon characters again. After a long chase involving explosive pies and sentient angry tumbleweeds, the two barely escaped Xingo's mischief with their lives, Roy knowing far better than to try to fight such a wacky character. Not wanting to see Xingo's face ever again, they decided to take some BrainBleach to ensure they can't even invoke his appearance by mentioning him, but keeping a small flash card in their pocket to know how to deal with him just in case.
** When it came to other fictional characters that entered into the real world, they get along with Meteora pretty well, but Altair is someone that they'd rather keep away from for their own sake.
* The Knables found it ideal to ally with the GUAG White Hats, given the fact that they may end up being sucked into deadly television shows again. The White Hats being benevolent technological experts and hackers themselves who could help them escape such situations was ideal for them. It helped that some of its members were just as familiar with being put into their universes' own forms of media. Not only that, but the group reminded them of their son, Darryl, who also happened to have a knack for technology himself. They also dislike one of their enemies, the Grand United Alliance of Machines, since they decided that dealing with a malicious television was enough for them, and obviously disagree with the idea of being turned to machines themselves.

* By the turn of the millenium, the folks at Creator/ImageComics were at a bad place. UsefulNotes/TheDarkAgeOfComicBooks went bust on them.

* A break-in at the Foundation caused quite a stir throughout the Pantheon, especially considering it was still dealing with the fiasco dubbed "The Great Upheaval". Agents of the Foundation found the cuddly, blob-like entity in the company of [[Pantheon/{{Magic}} Madoka Kaname]]. The [[spoiler: recently depowered]] Goddess claimed ignorance, both of the creature's nature and how it had come into her possession; it had apparently appeared in the middle of the night in her room. She reluctantly parted with the creature: after everything she had dealt with, she had found the SCP's presence very cheering. Considering the timing and nature of the breakout, the Foundation has a relatively good idea of who was behind it.

** Zasalamel visits the House of Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} rather frequently and has consulted with the likes of Histoire and The Librarian. His hospitality has allowed him to be in good graces with them and it's been noted that he reads a lot, though some think he secretly steals books. Zasalamel also attends the House of Pantheon/{{Magic}}, though many of the deities there are suspicious and are not too willing to allow Zasalamel to practice his magical abilities there. Nevertheless, he's still finding other means to further his own powers.
