* Years ago, something sinister had been haunting the inhabitants of St. Cecilia's Abbey. Deaths and disappearances became common within the abbey, which drove the monks mad with paranoia, some even being driven to kill. Despite the mounting death toll, there was almost never an abundance of corpses. This lasted until one fateful night in 1912 when the "last concert" took place, resulting in the deaths of everyone who was present. One year later, a man named Argos [=LeGrant=] would find the final song played in St. Cecilia's Abbey and, scoffing at the legend surrounding the song, recreated it in a music box and gifted it to his children. Unknowingly he had created a catalyst for an entity only known as "The Presence" to return, and continue to plague those who heard the Music Box's tune. For years the Music Box passed through many hands, The Presence claiming an untold number of victims, until it wound up in the hands of one Sebastian P. Husher, whose disappearance along with his family sparked an investigation that led to the discovery of The Presence and its Music Box.
* Upon ascending into the pantheon, the SCP Foundation has worked to keep the Presence's influence contained to its temples within the pantheon. This is in part due to the fact the song of the Music Box has a BrownNote effect that infects the minds of those who listen to it, allowing The Presence to follow its targets, [[PlaguedByNightmares plague them with nightmares]], and [[DrivenToMadness drive them mad]]. The fact it is [[ParanoiaFuel practically]] ''[[ParanoiaFuel everywhere]]'' [[ParanoiaFuel when stalking its victims]] and [[EvilTaintedThePlace places it manifests will continually be haunted by it]], allowing it to claim more victims, and the only sure fire way to escape it is through [[DrivenToSuicide suicide]] makes these precautions justified.
** This being the Foundation, they still perform tests in regards to The Presence by having [[WeHaveReserves D-class personnel]] listen to the song. This is how the Foundation learned that victims of the Presence are taken to an [[EldritchLocation extradimensional location known only as "Elsewhere"]] and that those forcibly taken there are [[FaceMonsterTurn turned into Revenants]], which seem to [[AndIMustScream have some level of memory of their past lives]].
* SurvivalHorror protagonist gods ''hate'' The Presence for one reason or another. Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, and Leon Kennedy hate it due to the threat it poses to their followers in its native reality. Alex Rovias hates it due to being an EldritchAbomination that drives people mad. Alan Wake himself when he first learned of it assumed it must be like the Dark Presence due to its connection to darkness and its name and tried to to confront it, only to find his flashlight wasn't powerful enough to dispel its manifestations and nearly was killed by it before he managed to escape.
* The only thing that seems capable of dispelling The Presence's manifestations is [[WeakenedByTheLight particularly bright lights]], as such deities associated with light are particularly effective at countering the eldritch being. Meridia in particular seems to hold The Presence in particular disdain, [[TheUnfettered resolving to destroy it no matter what.]] While it is unclear if the Presence is actively hurt by light, nonetheless these gods are among the first to be called in if The Presence starts manifesting.
* As a being of darkness, naturally the Presence has made allies with beings also associated with darkness. Chernabog himself seems to take great interest in the Presence as his domain aligns rather closely with what the Presence usually operates within. The Heartless also seem to appear in or around areas that the Presence has manifested in, likely drawn in by all the negativity it spawns in its wake. It is incredibly unclear what opinion the Presence may or may not have towards its allies, but it has to date shown no hostility towards them.
* When learning of The Presence's place within the pantheon, Akhenaten had a bit of a FreakOut. Within the Presence's native reality, Akhenaten's heretical religious reforms were put in place to try and counter the Presence's dangerous influence. Needless to say, he wants to be as far away from the Music Box as possible.
* While Freddy Fazbear uses an OminousMusicBoxTune before he attacks and the Puppet has [[MusicSoothesTheSavageBeast a music box that soothes it]], both animatronics ''despise'' the Presence. As both are HauntedTechnology with the spirit of a murdered child, while the Presence is [[WouldHurtAChild actively just as hostile to children as it is to adults]].
* It is known that [[TimeAbyss the tune that summons the Presence predates]] the existence of its current catalyst and could, in theory, be played through other musical mediums to call it forth. Groups like the Chaos Insurgency are interested in possibly acquiring an alternate rendition of the Music Box tune, so that they [[HijackingCthulhu may strategically use it against specific targets of their choosing and turn the Presence into a weapon]].
** The danger this presents has made the Global Occult Coalition question the Foundation's approach to keeping the Presence contained. Naturally they are working to destroy any and all versions of the song they can find to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
* Due to their similar approach, it and the Entity are in a bit of opposition to each other. While the two eldritch beings are not hostile to one another, they generally keep away from each other's respective victims. The Presence prefering to take on its victims directly as opposed to the Entity acting through agents also allows them to stay out of one another's way. One has to wonder what would happen if the Entity were to take someone who had heard the Presence's song as the Presence tends to manifest anywhere its victims may go.
* Spooky sees the Presence as something of a rival, due to the fact that the Presence turns its victims into ghosts that serve its will and that it keeps haunting places it has manifested. In a way, she feels it is muscling on her territory and [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial certainly not because people actually find the Presence genuinely terrifying and not cute in the slightest]].

* Their music is usually referred as a harbinger. A harbinger of ass-kicking, that is. Considering that, they often make pass to the House of Combat or War.
* They had a rather... 'tense' encounter with Akuma, who sought them after witnessing the feats of their commanding officer, Genjuro Kazanari prior to his ascension. As his niece, Tsubasa nearly took up Akuma's challenge, but Hibiki took over, being trained by him directly and all. After a fierce fight (in which Hibiki unleashed her berserk side), Akuma withdrew, also giving a satisfied look that the mortal gave good apprentice.
* Tsubasa occasionally hung around with Fate, sometimes singing together. Fate could empathize with her troubled past since before. Also, although he doesn't encourage her to do so, Kyosuke Nanbu has been teaching her how to survive fatal wounds.
** Especially during the events of Precia dying to protect Fate. Tsubasa personally took it to herself, asking Hibiki and Chris to stay out of business just for a bit, so she could sing a funeral song for Fate's mother in her burial. Once the burial was over, she was found with tears on her face, not just on how she empathizes with Fate, but also knowing that somewhere, her 'dead friend' Kanade Amou, was also helping her spirit so she could finish the song with a straight face in the burial.
* When Chris came across Heero Yuy, she's usually asked if she's seen his buddy/herald Trowa Barton or not, in which Chris vehemently denied seeing him, and it ends with her annoyed DeathGlare meeting Heero's cold glare in a staring contest or sorts.
* The three once again saved the world from the Noise threat, but then on seeing and hearing [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Ragna the Bloodedge]], they thought the mastermind of the Noise threat that they just apprehended, Dr. Ver, was on the loose again and just had a face-changing operation, but still [[Creator/TomokazuSugita with the same voice]], so Hibiki approached him and asked if he was the doctor much to Ragna confusion. Hibiki apologized after Tsubasa and Chris explained the overall situation.
* The first thing Miku did upon ascending was make a beeline for the House of Music to give Hibiki her famous 10-Hibiki-a-second hit.

* They were pleased to hear how their teammates the FIS children also ascended. They had a small party after they all ascended. Tsubasa and Maria even held a small concert.
* The biggest issue amongst the pantheon is whether or not to ship Tsubasa with Maria or Kanade. Tsubasa refuses to comment on this.
* The team was very much shocked in a positive way when it turns out that their house would be neighboring with Tsubasa's respected superior and voice, Creator/NanaMizuki. Tsubasa wasn't lying when she said she learned to draw from Nana, [[TerribleArtist they're both hilariously terrible.]]
* While all the girls are friends with most heroic Tokusatsu Gods as fellow [[HenshinHero transforming fighters]], they've struck up friendships with a few in particular.
** Because of her friendly nature, Hibiki is great friends with most Tokusatsu heroes, with [[Pantheon/HeroicOutlooks Yusuke]] and [[Pantheon/OffensivePowers Eiji]] noting [[AllLovingHero their]] [[ChronicHeroSyndrome similarties]], though she's great friends with [[Pantheon/FriendshipAndCamaraderie Gentaro Kisaragi]]. The two of them bonded over the many similarities they had, with the main one being how they both use ThePowerOfFriendship to befriend even their enemies.
** Tsubasa has found a sparring partner with [[Pantheon/HeroicOutlooks Kouta Kazuraba]]. They found quite a lot in common ([[BlueIsHeroic color schemes]] and [[{{Samurai}} fighting styles]]), especially regarding the hardships both went through [[spoiler:and once being brainwashed into evil]]. The same applies for [[Pantheon/FightingStyles Samurai Sentai Shinkenger]], as she gets along with all of them, especially Takeru due to how they're both part of an influenctial household, are a bit stoic and awkward, and go through a moment of figuring out who they are near the ends of their journeys. She's the honorary "Shinken Sakimori" to them.
** Chris had become friends with [[Pantheon/CombatMagic Haruto Soma]]. Both of them shared [[RedIsHeroic similar colors]], and Wizard's fighting style combining flame magic with acrobatics entranced Chris. As a HopeBringer, Haruto also helped out Chris during some of her moments of self reflection regarding some of her past actions. Likewise, she's friends with [[Pantheon/{{Titles}} Takumi Inui]], liking his weapon and color choices and respecting how he protects dreams while lacking any of his own. She strives to be the beacon of hope the two are to her friends too.

* The Pantheon got an unusual package one day that was directed to the House of Music rather than Pantheon/TheGreatTreasury as was the norm for any sort of package. It looked like a regular piano, but it was stated that it wasn't what it appeared to be. The thing didn't get much attention until someone wanted to take piano lessons and was directed to this piano. To that deity's shock, it tried to eat him alive and that deity ran in fear.
** Following the incident, a few requested that the piano be removed, but the request was turned down as the piano was somehow given a title and place to stay in the Pantheon.
*** It was later discovered that Trollkaiger was responsible for this turn of events. As for that group, as they were celebrating the occassion and started to play the piano, it came to life and attempted to eat them alive. Needless to say, the group had to run for it after their own prank turned against them.
* Some think that a red coin is attached behind it. The claims are false, but it hasn't stopped some from making dare challenges out of it for others to handle.
* Sometimes it will attack the instant someone gets to close to it. Other times, it waits a little bit before making its move on them. Its this unpredictability that makes it feared by many.
* Given how surprisingly sturdy it is, a few ideas have been tossed around on how to damage the piano. Progress has been slow to say the least.
* No one is bothering to think about how to use it as a legitimate weapon, simply because many think that the piano will turn against the user as soon as it attacks.
* Dancing on the piano is not advised at all. [[Pantheon/{{Narrative}} Snoopy]] learned it the hard way and decided not to go near it following the encounter.
* Rumors have been spreading that [[Pantheon/DreadAndValor Diablo]] is actually afraid of the piano. Any attempts to ask him about it will result in a severe punishment at his hands. The fact that he reacts as such didn't really help his case, as it led others to believe that he truly is afraid of the piano.

The Piper is rather amused by his fame, but doesn't interact with them much.

Then dear Sisy and the boulder got tired of that and used the latter to escape the Underworld and enjoy newfound freedom. This boulder, who we'll identify as the Rock of Ages from here on out for sanity's sake, would go on to wreck havoc across history. Smashing buildings, fighting spirits of the ages, and overall just squishing people as they futilely try to squish his master with their own boulder. Yes, the games run on an ExcusePlot for such GenreBusting gameplay involving the squishing of people and their puny little defenses with giant rocks, but they're good {{Excuse Plot}}s.
