* Jeor Mormont was once head of House Mormont and Lord of Bear Island, a cold and windy island in [[Pantheon/PopulatedAreas the North]] where the men are tough and so are the woman. Leaving the lordship to his son, he went to the Night's Watch and was eventually elected the 997th Lord Commander. Despite being in his late sixties he's an exceptional fighter and a wise mentor, who was integral in Jon Snow's growth as a man.
* Initially critical to Jon Snow, but has grown to like him. He was impressed by his achievements as the 998th Lord Commander, and was incensed to learn of the AntiMutiny that happened to Jon. Of course he doesn't like betrayal in general, because he was killed in a mutinous breach of SacredHospitality. Granted the first victim was [[AssholeVictim Craster]], [[TokenEvilTeammate but he gave hospitality to the Watch]]. Naturally he despises Walder Frey for the Red Wedding.

It is said [[BestialityIsDepraved their children were fathered by bears]], which he isn't going to comment on. Seems to dislike Lord Fredrik due to him being an evil bear. He's not sure what to think about his son Jorah Mormont as of late, with his time with Daenerys Targaryen.

* Gets along with Olivier Armstrong. The two of them are harsh people in charge of border control, where it's GrimUpNorth. Both are tough but fundamentally good people. Olivier was rather upset to learn of the degenerates sent to the Wall and that he has to tolerate such degenerates, and the two are currently working to restore the Night's Watch to its former glory of consisting of tough, noble men. Jeor believes that alchemy could be useful in reinforcing the Wall.
* His time with Olivier has given him respect for Izumi Curtis. While the patriarchal Westeros doesn't allow women in the Night's Watch, her [[SinkOrSwimMentor her training methods]] are the kind of kick up the ass that the crows need. He supports Leman Russ as well due to being a commander in the tough, winter Fenris and is the kind of soldier the Night's Watch could really benefit from.
* [[AgentMulder Believed the White Walkers were real when nobody else did]], even coming face to face with a wight. However it is after his death that the Night's King has invaded with an army of the dead, and can only hope his lost body is not used as a wight. He's further impressed by Jon Snow for being one of the main forces against the encroaching death that is the White Walkers. He recognizes Kaldr as being a similar threat to the Night's King.
* Keeps his eye on the undead due to his encounter with wights, though admits that not all the undead are evil. Knows that FireKeepsItDead on the wights, which led him to ally with Dany in the pantheon due to her dragons being one of the best weapons they have against the wights. His son Jorah has yet to ascend and meet up with his father, though likely still feels ashamed about the dishonor he brought to him. Has allied with Alexstrasza due to being a benevolent dragon with purifying fire.

* [[TheCynic Has a general distrust]] of military officers due to the actions of Colonel Loomis during the Battle of Halvo Bay (which resulted in him being permanently stripped of his commission) He tends to connect more with the enlisted personnel. But he does make exceptions for a couple of the Pantheon's military personnel. On one end, he's cool with Gunny Sergeant Hartmann because he reminds him of Colonel Hoffman. General Shepherd, on the other hand...he wants to saw the bastard in half. Loomis was a dick, but General Shepherd blew him out the water for offing his subordinates and instigating a war.

* Among the few deities who respect Sobel as a military officer is Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann, someone else known for being as much of a DrillSergeantNasty as the Army Captain. In fact, Hartman has asked the 101st Airborne officer if he could help drill his recruits as well. In Hartmann's case, these recruits in question were members of the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, an elite US Marine task forces that fights in hazardous environments and is responsible for fighting alien and paranormal threats. With no hesitation, Sobel accepts Hartman's offer, and begins drilling members of the unit alongside the Marine Drill Instructor. Unsurprisingly, the men come to hate both Hartman and Sobel, but do come to respect them when their harsh training regimens save their lives multiple times in both combat and non-combat situations.

* In a PostCyberpunk version of Japan, an officially non-existent anti-cyber-terrorism squad works under Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, operating out of [[NewNeoCity Niihama]]. This squad, Public Security Section 9, is a {{cyborg}} SWAT team led by protagonist Major Motoko Kusanagi. Motoko, usually just called The Major, is a full-conversion cyborg, having been fully inorganic except her brain and part of her spinal column since about age six (although one version of her goes further, having been [[Anime/GhostInTheShellArise cyberized since before she was born]]).
* Her combat skills are exceptional, as her body is a standard cyborg base modified with top-of-the-line custom military specs. She's also a brilliant hacker, able to invade even the connected human mind. She has a cold demeanor and a strict devotion to her job, one would say bordering on sociopathy… although she does have her humanizing traits and is not antisocial.
* Aside from her Heralds from Section 9, the Sisters of Battle are her army. As per her preferences, during operations they split up into small teams. Massed charges and open warfare don't sit well with her.
* Due to [[{{Stripperiffic}} her other]] [[https://img00.deviantart.net/7187/i/2015/110/d/7/motoko_kusanagi___the_major_by_madcatstudios-d6mmnm5.jpg usual outfit]], tends to get hit on by [[Pantheon/TacticsAndStrategies Zapp Brannigan]] and [[Pantheon/InvestigativeWork James Bond]]. She doesn't pay them much mind, but if she did, they'd have to watch out for the brutal invisible ass-beating to follow. Much to [[Pantheon/TaintedLove Shizuru]]'s dismay, she and her followers haven't responded to her overtures either, though as she gets to know everyone better, this may change.
* So far, seems to get along well with people who have both discipline and skill in their fields (Solid Snake, for example, though his butt probably had something to do with it).
* Before her ascension to the Pantheon, a corrupt anti-narcotics squad member named Gayle specifically targeted Motoko, chasing after her in a PoweredArmor suit with the intent to kill. Her teammates showed up with a .50 caliber anti-material sniper rifle loaded with High-Velocity armor piercing ammo and saved her just in time. [[UnstoppableRage Her fury was so intense that it shook the heavens themselves.]] Having had her left arm shot off just moments earlier, [[TheDeterminator she climbed up on top of the prone Armed Suit, aimed the rifle into the cockpit hatch]], and single-handedly [[ShortRangeLongRangeWeapon unloaded a full clip of ammo at point blank]] into the suit, ignoring Gayle's pleas of surrender. She only stopped when the clip was empty, and at that point enough damage was done to the suit that Gayle was suffocating inside from the pressure. She allowed him to live just so that he would forever ''regret'' the decision to hunt her.
* Is very comfortable within the House of Pantheon/{{Technology}} as well, and checks in on Lain and the Laughing Man often.
* Greatly admires Ellen Ripley, who was among the first [[BreakingOldTrends female asskickers]]. They hang out and beat up monsters.
* Recently she made a partnership with Black Orchid, the Goddess of Kali Sticks.
* She was the only female member of a stable group called the Mighty Majors until the ascension of Mio Sakamoto. Unfortunately, Ruput Broklaw, for reasons unknown stepped down, making her the Chief Major. She later ended up adding Guile to the group on the recommendation of Chun-Li.
