* Some people say MiseryBuildsCharacter. One could say that Durkon has experienced this for much of his life. Even as a child, he had to experience his dad getting killed and his mom without an arm for much of her life. It was part of the reason why he decided to become a cleric of Thor. Yet when he was almost powerful enough to restore that lost arm, he was thrown out of his own home due to a prophecy. Still, he managed to find good company in the Order of the Stick and while they have their arguments, he helped the leader Roy turn the group into a competent party. It was during this time that he became the God of Dwarves, ironic as he has been rejected by his own people. That happiness was once again thwarted by outside forces. [[spoiler: A lizardfolk cleric he befriended turned out to be an evil-aligned vampire. After a grisly brawl between the two, he ended up dying. Yet Valhalla wasn't given to him. Hel took over the vampire spawn and turned him into a vessel, even making him her high priest in an attempt to destroy his world, removing his deitic status in the process. But despite all of that trauma, he persevered. He managed to regain control for just enough time for his friends to destroy him. One resurrection later, and he was ready to return to the pantheon.]]
* Naturally, he has joined the group in order to help the team leader Roy destroy the lich Xykon and his minion Redcloak. Unlike the others, he doesn't mind that the lich can't remember his name despite meeting up many times over. He merely sees it as an advantage.
* Is probably the only member that doesn't have a deep hatred of Miko. Even after her loss of paladin powers, Durkon sees a misguided soul too caught up with upholding the law at all costs to the most severe of punishments. He has secretly tried to redeem her with regular visits. So far, the conversations have been fruitless.
* As with quite a few clerics in the 3.5 version, Durkn built himself as a CombatMedic, capable of healing his allies as well as busting heads with his weapon. As such he holds a great amount of respect to Chopper, even though he lives life as a pirate.
** With his HealingHands ability, he also pays respect to Asia Argento for her help. The blonde was enamored with the Dungeon and Dragons deities in his world and asked him to describe ALL of them. That was a difficult task, as Knowledge (Religion) wasn't part of his skill ranks.
* To his surprise, no one has claimed the prize of God of Hammers. Instead, much of those people have flocked to the worship of Hawkgirl. Durkon finds her hard to read given the superhero's many {{Retcon}}s.
* Holds a massive disdain for the undead and holds his holy symbol to his chest so that he could TurnUndead at a moment's notice. While his time as a vampire widened his perspective on the creatures, he remains unconvinced on the good some can do. Of course many of them bemused his high failure rate due his DumpStat in Charisma. [[spoiler: Dracula had hoped to have used the spawn for his own purposes, but Hel denied him the chance to do so. The God of Vampires considered it a pity they couldn't keep the cleric for long.]]
* The God of Thunder welcomed the cleric back in the Pantheon. While he does give Durkon the wrong spells to use at times, he genuinely cares for the dwarf [[spoiler: (and was understandably pissed when he found out about his vampire turn)]]. This proved true when the two finally met in his world.
** Loki laughed up a storm when he found out that Durkon and a cleric of his ended up going to bed with each other. The God of Mischief is uninterested in whether the two will hook up or not, only in the resulting schadenfreude that would likely happen with two people of diametrically opposed clerics.
** At least Catwoman is a bit more sympathetic with the situation he's in, advising him on what to do.
* He and V could be seen as a another inspiration of better relationships between dwarves and elves, like what eventually happened with Gimli and Legolas. Even then, he does have to deal with V's pride at times. Nevertheless, he was glad the two were able to handle their differences.
* His zealous attacks on trees became an assault on all tree matter. He has a big help against [[Pantheon/TreesAndFlowers Exdeath]], God of Evil Trees, at first. He has since been banned from the subhouse of Plants as a result. Some deities such as Viridi and Poison Ivy believe Durkon should be punished for his transgressions.
* As with all dwarves, he enjoys a good beer over at the subhouse of alcohol. But it's to be noted that he ''never'' gets drunk, no matter how many mugs of mead he drinks. Durkon chalks it up to his insanely high Constitution score. This has gain him both awe and jealousy amongst the heavy drinkers in the Pantheon.
* Also like most dwarfs, he's been trained to avoid getting hit by giants. This has made him a top priority by the Colossi to destroy him.
* [[spoiler:His new mission, requested by Thor, is to gain an audience with Redcloak. The evil cleric's deity may hold the key to preventing the continuing cycle of destruction due to The Snarl. The GUAG has taken notice and has voiced their support if it leads to the goblin's redemption.]]
* Also has a temple in the subhouse of Pantheon/PeopleOfFaith

* Complicated Relationship: [[Pantheon/{{Endings}} Hodaka Morishima and Hina Amano]]
* Marie first appeared in Inaba as a girl without any memories, only providing support for Yu Narukami in the Velvet Room as both Elizabeth and Yu try to help her remember her past. After the defeat of Kunino-Sagiri and Ameno-Sagiri at the Investigation Team's hands, Marie would remember her identity as Kusumi-no-Okami, a fragment of Izanami whose role was to gain insight into humanity's inner workings and absorb the fog of Ameno-sagiri and Kunino-sagiri in the event of their defeat. Doing so would lead the fog to slowly take over her and make her disappear once it takes control and begin to spread across the world. In an attempt to prevent this, Marie goes to the Hollow Forest to commit suicide and make the fog disappear with her. Yu and the Investigation Team, upon learning of this, go to the Hollow Forest to save her, freeing her from the fog's influence and allowing her to exist in the real world. Marie would eventually absorb Izanami-no-Okami, Kunino-Sagiri, and Ameno-Sagiri to become her original self, Izanami-no-Mikoto, and go on to become a weather reporter that actually manipulates the weather for the good of Inaba, remaining a good friend to the Investigation Team in the process.
* After a long amount of time has passed, Marie would eventually learn of the Pantheon and find out her friends have ascended as gods there. After making her way to the Pantheon to join them, she would stand before the Court of the Gods, who after reviewing her case, decide to give her title of HonoraryTrueCompanion since she always considered a good friend to the Investigation Team despite not being a member. A happy reunion ensues between the Investigation Team and Marie as the latter ends up embracing Yu, much to Rise's jealously.
** As is standard with [[ChickMagnet Yu Narukami]] some gods wonder if there's more between Marie and him. [[VitriolicBestBuds Despite being friends, this also gets on Rise Kujikawa's nerves]]. Whenever Marie and Rise make reservations for Yu, they tend to bicker about who gets first dibs in dating him. One particular funny moment the gods found amusing was when Marie confessed her love for Yu during her broadcast, much to everyone's shock and Rise's exasperation.
* Often seen in the House of Pantheon/TheatreAndSpectacle, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial definitely not practicing poetry]], though everyone is hardly convinced. Some have found her poems lying about, leading Marie to immediatley grab them out of their hands as she [[{{Angrish}} runs her lines in anger and embarrassment]]. Marie suspects that someone is taking her poems and dropping them on the ground for people to see just to [[TheGadfly mess with her]].
* Woe betide any perverts who try to peep on her while bathing, intentionally or not, for Marie shall rain thunder if they look her way. It's a lesson that Yosuke and Teddie remember well, especially because when they angered Marie that time by trying to peep on her and the other girls in the Investigation Team, they were at [[ElectrifiedBathtub the Amagi Inn's hot springs]]. Mitsuru Kirijo and Makoto Nijima have also inflicted severe punishment on their male friends for being perverts (even though it was an accident on part of the male Phantom Thieves, Makoto Yuki, and Akihido Sanada; Junpei and Ryoji were being deliberately perverted), so all the male Persona gods fear them just as much as Marie when it comes to the hot springs.
* Has received a number of complaints from the House of Nature for casually changing the weather to suit her friends during her weather reports. This has led to many arguments about how Marie should use her powers and whether she should be altering the weather at all. Marie has stated that she will change the weather to benefit the people of Inaba, especially her friends, but she will always make sure that it doesn't affect the economy so much that it could hurt society.
** She usually tends to spend her time in the House of Pantheon/{{Weather}}, meeting with other weather manipulating deities. Marie gets along with the likes of Chaac (a fellow benevolent weather deity who can provide gentle rain), Nami (who can manipulate the weather for battle), Castform (a Pokémon that can manipulate the weather and take on a form depending on the weather), Helios, Apollo, Selene, and Artemis (deities that represent the sun and moon) and she usually meets with them to discuss how to use the weather for future benevolent purposes. However, Marie also came across villainous weather deities such as Enya Geil (whose ability to manipulate the fog reminds her of her splintered fragments attempting to use the fog for misguided, but harmful purposes) and Kracko (a sentient cloud that has antagonized Kirby), both of whom Marie sees as an enemy for their how they use their powers to hurt people.
** Marie gets along with Rayquaza since they are both powerful deities with control over the weather and act as guardian entities. Rayquaza can cancel out the severe weather caused by Kyogre and Groudon, and even put a stop to their battle when it threatens the world. Marie uses her weather powers to benefit Inaba and has become a guardian entity who seeks to protect humanity and grant their wish. Because of this, the two form a kinship as they work to protect the world with their powers.
** Got along with the likes of Amaterasu, as both mutually can sense the other is a deity. Both have served as protector deities of the land they live in, with Amaterasu using her powers to help people during her journey, with Marie helping Inaba with the weather she brings. Ammy has allowed Marie to pet her during their time together as the latter tries to come up with a poem about her.
** Marie saw much of herself and Yu in Hodoka and Hina. Hodoka and Yu risked so much to save Hina and Marie respectively, though whereas Yu was willing to save Inaba and all of his friends at the same time, Hodoka's only concern was saving Hina to the point that it ended up condemning the city to a never-ending rainfall. While Marie gets along with Hodoka over their weather manipulating abilities and how they were saved from their fate of being sacrificed by the love of their life, Marie finds herself conflicted about Hodoka considering what his choices led to.
* Despite being an incarnation of Izanami-no-Mikoto, the Mother Goddess does not mind Marie's presence in the Pantheon, and in fact is even happy upon learning that Marie's Izanagi in the form of Yu managed to rescue her from her fate and still care for her. Marie in turn is saddened upon hearing of how her incarnation lost her life in childbirth and the love of her husband after he abandoned her in Yomi. She has wondered if her story with Yu is meant to contrast the original story and its ending, but in the end, she's happy that Yu is there for her even when she tried to push him away.
* Phil Conners was a weatherman who was trapped in a time loop and went mad because of it. He tried to escape it after several loops by taking his life, to no avail. It wasn't until he went through CharacterDevelopment and accepted his love for Rita that he was finally able to break the loop, now changed for the better. Marie notes that her circumstances were quite different to his, but she still felt pity for him since she also attempted suicide to escape her fate. She was lucky to have friends who wanted to help her and actually succeeded in breaking her out of her role.
* Formed a kinship with Born, an entity from the void who wanted to live independently, only to end up dooming the places he traveled through and had to fix. Marie remembers how she tried to keep Inaba and her friends safe from the fog by disappearing in the Hollow Forest, only for her friends to save her, so she's happy that Born is able to save himself from his fate and finally free himself from the void permanently. She was also fascinated by his power over colors due to her fascination with nature, so she tends to write poems about them.
* Found a place in the Doki Doki Literature Club due to their love of writing. She especially found a kindred spirit in Sayori, since Sayori's poems had themes of death and suicidal feelings. Marie also noted how Sayori was manipulated by Monika the same way she was manipulated by Izanami-no-Okami. Knowing what it's like to feel suicidal, Marie hopes to help Sayori overcome these feelings and find joy in life just like her friends showed her.
* Absolutely '''despises''' the Master after the Immortality Gate Incident, which saw the seven human members of the Investigation Team be momentarily turned into clones of the Master and Marie and Teddie being forced to fight their friends to stay alive until the transformation was reversed. She and Teddie were immune since they weren't human, but that didn't make things easier. Because of this, Marie promises to destroy the Master if he ever tries to harm her friends again.
* Regardless of whether it's a coincidence or not, other deities sometimes chuckle at the fact that she wants to shorten beefsteak to [[Webcomic/{{Hiimdaisy}} Fsteak]]. Marie is not amused by this, again running her lines in anger before telling everyone to buzz off. She has made it a personal rule for everyone not to mention Fsteak in her presence.
* Even at her base "mortal" power, it's not wise to underestimate her since she has a capable persona, control over weather and [[HandbagOfHurt can hit someone with her bag really hard]]. She's a bit eager as the last chance she had to fight, she was busy holding back a fog from consuming the residents of her home. And since she's awakened her own Persona, she's more than happy to dish out the hurt.
** Marie's current Persona is Kaguya, which fits how she had no memories and felt a sense of longing. Marie meets the actual Princess Kaguya and befriends her for their similar losses. Marie and Kaguya tend to spend most of their time outdoors exploring their surroundings. Marie sympathizes with Kaguya after learning of how she was destined to be taken back to the moon against her will, similar to how she was a tool used by one of her splintered fragments. Kaguya admits she envies Marie for how she overcame her fate and wishes that she could have stayed on Earth with she grew up with.
* While most of the Investigation Team's female cooks are [[LethalChef just bad]], the chocolate she makes actually appears to be "alive". To the horror of many she has been known to throw it out during combat. Mitsuru and Naoto have decided to weaponize the living chocolate to use against enemies, though unlike the other girls who were hurt at seeing their cooking used like that, Marie didn't mind at all.
* Marie likes fashion, so she tends to go to the Dressed for Divinity organization in order to look at the clothes being made. She gets along with the likes of Rarity and her human counterpart since she's a fashion designer and can help her with choosing the right clothes for herself and her friends. Marie remembers how she once looked at clothes with Chie and Yukiko and point out their affinity with green and red respectively, and this made her associate people with the color of their clothing.
* Forms a kinship with the Tailed Beasts after learning they were pieces of a powerful entity just like her. Though in this case, she agrees that the Tailed Beasts are better off separated since they've gained independence and free will and also because reuniting them into the Ten Tails and Kaguya would have dire consequences. Speaking of which, Marie shows disdain for Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, not only because she's named after her Persona, but also because her Infinite Tsukuyomi reminds her of Izanami's plan to shroud the world in fog and trap humans in their deepest desires. She also doesn't like Madara Uchiha for trying to use the Infinite Tsukuyomi as his goal is very similar to Izanami, though she does feel some sympathy for Obito after hearing of how he was driven to cast the Genjutsu due to not wanting to accept the reality of Rin dying, admitting that she wanted to run away from the awful truth and only listen to a comfortable lie once upon a time. It's only thanks to her friends that she finally managed to make peace with herself and found happiness.
* Whether it was chance or fate, Marie ascended at the same time as Ryoji. Both were similar in many ways. They were entities that were split apart before coming back together, but they made friends in the teams that opposed their role. The only difference is that while Ryoji was forced to leave his humanity behind, Marie was allowed to live alongside humans after her friends saved her.
