** He enjoys gardening. [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer No, seriously]]. The only reason Gihren ever returns to the Zabi family villa in the Acts of War sub-house is to tend to the Grand Garden in the estate grounds, especially the field of hydrangeas. Otherwise, he lives in his executive suite over in A Baoa Qu, away from his meddling family.

** One of the few people Degwin will leave his temple for is fellow RetiredBadass Iroh. He enjoys sipping tea in [[Pantheon/EstablishmentsAndInstallations the Jasmine Dragon]] and discussing high politics with Zuko's old uncle, who privately absolves him of all culpability for Deikun's death. To Iroh, the past is the past and Degwin knows it. Both Iroh and Degwin consider Ozai out of his gourd and just as megalomaniacal as Gihren, only with fire powers that he is unfit to wield. Ozai keeps tabs on all of Iroh's friends to find vulnerabilities and he thinks that Degwin is too soft and lacked the will to continue the fight with the Earth Federation and that Gihren was right to forcibly succeed him. He considers it a shame that Degwin decided to be magnanimous and spare his political rivals, the Rals, since Jimba Ral and his son Ramba personally spirited the Deikun children to Earth and out of his reach.

** A close ally in the Pantheon/{{GUAE}} is Führer King Bradley, a fellow family man with a strong sense of conviction. Dozle admires Bradley's commitment to family and the nation of Amestris... even if said nation was built on a lie. He ''was'' genuinely shocked to learn of the atrocities committed by the Military along with the full extent of the Homunculi conspiracy and his so-called "son" really being the evilest of Bradley's siblings. Dozle may detest what Bradley and his Father are up to, but the man himself is engaging company be it on military inspections, going out shooting game or hanging out in [[Pantheon/EstablishmentsAndInstallations the Villain Pub]]. Plus, anyone who can take out a tank with nothing more than a sword is worthy of respect. Likewise, the former Führer-President of Amestris is amused at what he shares with Dozle: both are family men and {{Blood Knight}}s (though Bradley is more low-key) with highly [[BunnyEarsLawyer comedic quirks]] in spite of being so ruthless. That said, Bradley will not hesitate to slaughter Dozle in an instant should his life be a threat to Father's plans.
** Frequents bars in the surrounding houses when he's off-duty to socialize, and is a very entertaining storyteller. Fellow veteran Red Forman met him by chance at [[Pantheon/{{Alcohol}} Bacchus' Bar and Grill]] and the two hit it off after a few drinks. Both bonded over their shared war experiences and similar cynical attitudes, yet having loving relatives who contend with their quirks. A FriendlyRival and chianti-drinking buddy at the [[Pantheon/EstablishmentsAndInstallations Villain Pub]] is the famed Captain Ginyu. Dozle doesn't like Frieza ([[BadBoss for obvious reasons]]) but he's more than welcome to indulge in his team's flamboyant antics. He had a hand in getting Jeice and Burter their custom mobile suits. Ginyu and Dozle bicker a lot over the importance of mobile suits in future Pantheon/{{GUAE}} campaigns, with Dozle supporting the mobile suit as the new weapon of war and Ginyu hoping that the power of battleship weapons and bodily power will continue to prevail over "those small, insignificant metal toys". Disagreements aside, they're good friends. He also fights the renegade Saiyan Army pretty often, but gets along with Bardock when the need calls for it. Fathers should stick together.

* If there was ever a man who proved that being a knight doesn't equate to being a good person, it is Gregor Clegane. A giant of a man valued for his inhuman strength, his gigantism resulted in painful migranes that leaves him with a HairTriggerTemper and a willingness to kill anyone at the slightest provocation. Even as a young man he burned his brother's face [[DisproportionateRetribution for playing with his toy]] and would've killed him if he wasn't pulled off. It's rumored [[KinslayingIsASpecialKindOfEvil he killed his father and sister]], and it is known he commits various war crimes like rape, brutal murder and even torture. [[CompleteMonster He is one of the worst people in all of Westeros]], and unfortunately his inhuman strength and morality makes him an excellent PsychoForHire for Tywin Lannister.
* [[AssholeVictim If ever a man deserved to die screaming]], [[HateSink it was Gregor Clegane]]. [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even his master Tywin considers him despicable]], [[DownplayedTrope though not to the extent of disowning him]]. And Gregor is only loyal to the Lannisters by virtue of being able to indulge in his PsychoForHire tendencies. Being a sadistic little brat, Joffrey is gleeful at the Mountain serving under the Lannisters. Due to his war crimes in the Riverlands onwards House Stark has wanted his head. House Martell ''really'' wants his head because during the siege of King's Landing he murdered prince Aegon Targaryen, raped Elia Martell with the babe's brains still on him and crushed her head. [[UngratefulBastard Keep in mind her husband Rhaegar knighted him]].
* Personally Oberyn, Rhaegar and Sandor are all competing over who hates the Mountain more. Sandor has known Gregor as a monster since the beginning and the fact he was knighted is what made him so cynical in the first place, and Rhaegar considers knighting Gregor one of his greatest mistakes, even without the crimes he committed against his family. Oberyn Martell directly went out to get his revenge on the Mountain, and though he lost he condemned Gregor to a horrific death by poisoning [[spoiler:[[RevenantZombie that partially stuck]].]] On the less noble side the Brave Companions despise the Mountain for dismantling them and hacking apart Vargo Hoat [[{{Autocannibalism}} and feeding him "roast goat"]]. It's another sign of how sick the Mountain is, though nobody is crying over Vargo.
* Ser Gregor has the intention of crushing Polneraff and Inigo Montoya's skulls like eggs due to their stated desire to deliver as much suffering to him as the Red Viper of Dorne, and their clear similarities to said Red Viper. Polneraff even has the backstory of avenging his sister's rape and murder, along with the benefit of the Mountain not being able to see Silver Chariot as he isn't a Stand user. Amazingly the Mountain is able to get Polneraff, [[{{Jerkass}} Jagi]] on Raoh to ''agree'' on something since [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes Jagi's girlfriend]] was raped and murdered, and Raoh believes RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil so much that when one of his minions was guilty of rape ''he personally killed them''.
* Despite his impressive martial status Gregor's hatred of an equal opponent means he rarely enters the House of Pantheon/FightingAndCombat, and usually only does either due to an order or [[BerserkButton being called]] [[CowardiceCallout a coward for doing so]]. This tactic is used by other knights, since almost every knight from Sir Lancelot to Sir Daniel [[spoiler: (another undead knight)]], sees him as nothing more but a madman unworthy of his royal title, the very opposite of a proper knight's ideals. This is mostly expressed by Sven, a man with no official knighthood, yet still follows a strict code of honor unlike Gregor. This has led to the two clashing blades many times over. In addition, Gregor is absolutely banned from ever going anywhere near the Houses of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection or Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives. You all get [[WouldHurtAChild one]] [[WouldHitAGirl guess]] [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil as to why]]. There's also the fact he's had three wives that have just..[[TheBluebeard disappeared]]; [[NothingIsScarier best not to think of why]]. This also goes for the House of Toxicity as he went on a rampage the last time he was there. Apparently it reminded him of the long and agonizing aftermath of his fight against Oberyn.
* He holds a roaring hatred towards Akame for her use of [[PoisonedWeapons Murasame]] as it strongly reminds him of the spear Oberyn used against him. The hatred is mutual as Gregor is a despicable war criminal and SerialRapist who is more akin to a member of Wild Hunt than anything. Naturally Prime Minister Honest was in awe of the Mountain's unfettered strength coupled with lack of moral restraints, and has been pestering Tywin to allow him to join Wild Hunt. Tywin has no interest in this, but that didn't stop the Mountain from joining them [[ForTheEvulz for the sake of committing more war crimes with impunity]]. Syura found this a massive boon since [[DirtyCoward unlike most of their members]] [[VillainousValor Gregor is fearless]], albeit in a "too angry to be afraid" way than anything admirable.
* [[NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed If anyone in history compares to the Mountain]], it might be Gilles de Rais. They have a solitary life, imposing appearance and (at least accused in Gilles' case) [[BreadEggsMilkSquick are sadistic murderers]]. The Servant incarnation of the infamous French knight proves to be one of few people the Mountain can relate to, though at the very least Caster still loves Jeanne [[TheSociopath while Gregor truly cares for no-one]]. More comparisons have been made with other sadistic psychos in the Trope Pantheon; the Cyclops Killer has a condition that gives him a rush from murder, and Tiberiu Bulat is a sadistic old man who ''loves'' any excuse to get his gun off. Barracuda is another "soldier" with a passion for brutality, and of course there's Ali-Al Saachez who takes whatever job he can [[ForTheEvulz to indulge in his sadism]]. In short Gregor Clegane is in "good" company, which equals really horrible company for anyone with a conscience.
* Realistically insanely large size should render him far more susceptible to crippling injuries, but he shrugs off most physical attacks and might've overcome all the stabbings from Oberyn where he not using a poisoned weapon. The gigantism should result decreased sex drive or outright impotence, but there's rarely a time when he isn't in the mood to rape and kill whatever poor woman who's unfortunate enough to be around him. In short, he's close to a literal monster, a giant who is everything and worse than those the Big Friendly Giant belongs to. Naturally, he is horrified to see [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters a human]] prove more depraved than even his notorious kin, [[ApeShallNeverKillApe as they still would never kill a fellow giant]]. Unfortunately for Gregor, the BFG [[LargeRunt may be a runt but he's THREE TIMES the height of the Mountain]].
* [[Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfEvil The GUAE]] do not have the easiest time keeping him in check as he seems to be addicted to causing mayhem. Not because of a lack of capability, but a lack of resources, namely, the amount of prisoners and slaves he kills on a constant basis, ranging from his training routine to simply trying to be rid of boredom. Same thing goes for horses, as he has a tendency to kill his steeds for the slightest failures. Thoughts about giving him a mechanical equine has been proposed, but many fear he would just kill the steed AND the mechanics as well. In spite of all this they consider him worth it (at least in LowFantasy settings and not overpowered settings like ''Franchise/{{Dragonball}}'') as [[TheDreaded the Mountain invokes fear more so]] [[HateSink than disgust]]. Of note, Maple is terrified of him, though he had seen her as just another girl to do as he wanted with. Getting devoured by her shield after she paralyzed him didn't do much to change his mind, nor her Predators getting him off of her, or getting drenched and dissolved in her Hydra poison. It took several more of those attempts, and each of his advances scared Maple despite how easily she's stopped him. Now, he just wants her in retaliation for being so damn untouchable by him.
* The Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfGood has a large bounty for Gregor Clegane to be brought to the House of Pantheon/LawAndJustice and serve a proper sentencing, complete with getting him to publicly confess to all the things Tywin ordered that he would prefer to keep to himself. Kenshiro would prefer to just kill him outright where he stands, as he's very reminiscent of the scum he deals with on a daily basis. The Mountain also has a target on his back of [[VideoGame/FateGrandOrder two Servants]]; Boudica and Anastasia. The latter survived having her royal family murdered in a not a sadistic but still similar way to what happened to Elia Martell, while the former swore vengeance against Rome for the rape of her daughters. Red Sonja, having been a victim of rape, also wants his head. This frustrates the Mountain since he's a SerialRapist not used to women actually posing a threat to him [[StayInTheKitchen given Westeros' sexist attitudes]].
* To cover his bases, Tywin attempted to choose [[Pantheon/LegalProcess Manfred von Karma]] as his defense attorney only for him to refuse saying "[[PragmaticVillainy It's a doomed case]]; I couldn't defend him with modern legal standards [[DeliberateValuesDissonance so you're on your own]]". Other deities pushed for a skilled and corrupt enough lawyer because they see in Gregor Clegane an excellent PsychoForHire and would pay Tywin handsomely to utilize him...and because of what the Mountain is like, his potential employers are pretty nasty people. Here's a list of who wants his talent and specifically why him.
** Palpatine sometimes wants the Mountain as muscle, but there's a deeper reason; he wants to clone Gregor and modified said clones to create mighty 8 foot Clone Troopers without the migranes that he takes copious milk of the poppy for. He muses that he's a nice EvilCounterpart to Vader; [[TheDreaded a terrifying physical presence and enforcer]], except while Vader was a broken FallenHero underneath that armor Gregor was always a monster in every single way. It's probably for the best Gregor Clegane isn't force-sensitive, since he is intrigued in Darth Sion for cheating death through sheer hatred and the dark side...albeit [[ImmortalityHurts in immense agony]]. [[spoiler:This may mean less for the Robert Strong persona.]]
** Bluebeard and the Four Libertines have requested that Gregor Clegane make extra money as a bodyguard. The Mountain that Rides finds this rather agreeable as with the former [[TheBluebeard he also has a habit of "disposing" of his wives]], and with the latter there [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil there are the obvious depravities he commits]]. That said, he's not a DepravedBisexual[[note]]though "depraved" is apt for Ser Gregor[[/note]] and finds some of their "fetishes" to be "uninteresting".
** A wedge has been driven between Firelord Ozai and Aerys Targaryen's VillainousFriendship when the former gave Ser Gregor his favor and considered his potential. After all, Gregor is guilty of serious crimes against the Targaryens...[[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk and that's the only reason why the Mad King has a problem with him]]. Prime Minister Honest feels Ozai doesn't have a right to claim the Mountain given that he's already gotten along well with Wild Hunt. What does the Mountain think? Simple; he doesn't care who he's working for so long as he "gets his fill".
** His skills as a warrior have gotten a thumbs up from Sundowner and Murata Azrael, who are fighting over who gets to bribe Tywin into letting Ser Gregor do "good work". It speaks more to how horrible they are, particularly Azrael who has the same (lack of) respect for women as the Mountain that Rides.
** Lionel Starkweather didn't want the Mountain for his fighting prowess, but for a purely sick reason; snuff films. He wants to make money off of fights, and..worse. Hearing this, the Punisher had really bad flashbacks about [[ComicBook/ThePunisherMAX "Eleventhree"]] and has prepared [[PayEvilUntoEvil a rather sadistic punishment for the the Mountain]].
** Konrad Von Carstein had a different mindset to the above; he thinks Gregor's brutality is wasted serving the Lannisters and should join him so he can drop whatever shreds of PragmaticVillainy he has and absolutely indulge in sheer cruelty. It's an incredibly attractive offer to the Mountain, but fortunately he isn't convinced it's worth the risk of alienating evil but not insane generals who would want his strength. Tywin [[EvenEvilHasStandards is disturbed at this possibility]] because Gregor would be vampirized. Keep in mind ''Warhammer'' vampires have their defining character traits swelled up to their most extreme limit. The Mountain is already a step below Konrad is sheer AxCrazy-ness, [[FridgeHorror so imagine what vampire Gregor would be like]].
* It has become a common tactic by some less benevolent gods to use him for Trials By Combat as a resort in order to get rid of troublesome individuals. Safe to say, his succés rate is rather high. However one needs to remember he's not invincible, as many faster gods have managed to best him in single combat. Most of this has to do with the fact that they have been taught to never underestimate him, knowing [[YourHeadAsplode what happened]] to the last man who did. [[Pantheon/MannersOfDeath Commodus]] mused that he'd be a great addition to the gladiator pits, but his father thankfully appealed to his ego by saying there's no way a volatile man like Ser Gregor would take a dive when he wants to partake in the games.
* There is so far only one reason why he has not fallen to Chaos: Khorne and Slaanesh are too busy arguing over who he truly is serving with his crimes instead of simply working their magic on him. Both gods finds him and his skills too valuable to fall into the hands of the other. Khorne admires his capacity for slaughter but it is worth noting the Mountain is not a true BloodKnight; [[TheBully he prefers it when his opponent can't fight back]]. That said he's also not [[DirtyCoward a coward]] so Khorne doesn't ''especially'' hate him; someone who can challenge him only makes him madder and more motivated to kill his opponent. Knowing how much of his rage is born from the constant migranes, Angron thoughts about implanting Gregor with The Butcher's Nails, wondering how much it would increase his killing potential.
* Another reason may be because Molag Bal is in favor of the Mountain and wants to claim him as his own. After all, Tywin's mad dog fits well into his spheres of domination, cruelty and rape. Some would argue that Ser Gregor is more within the domains of Bandos and Ares, vicious war deities that they are. Gregor Clegane is intrigued by both of them as they both represent the more brutal aspects of war that he excels at...though Ares would prefer he not become [[AbhorrentAdmirer obsessed]] [[EvenEvilHasStandards as he's a bit much]][[note]]except for his ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'' incarnation who's just as evil as the Mountain[[/note]]. The Mountain is also interested in the Fraternity because a VillainWorld where he can act with true impunity is really appealing to him.
* There have been other attempts to empower Gregor Clegane to make him a truly unstoppable force. One of which involved stealing Venom from Bane, something that Bane did not take kindly. [[EvenEvilHasStandards He considers the Mountain detestable]] and the Mountain is frustrated by him for not only being a physical match, [[GeniusBruiser but also easily outsmarting him]]. Another was letting Fenrir Greyback, who already took a liking to him [[PsychoForHire because of their similar personalities]], intentionally turning him into a werewolf. The Mountain has expressed interest in having the Hulk's powers ([[ThePowerOfHate especially the "angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes"]] aspect). Naturally Bruce and all his alters are disgusted by him.
* Was once a follower of [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Griffith]], though he isn't an ally because of PragmaticVillainy on the latter's part. First off, there is no way he could upgrade him to an Apostle since you need to sacrifice someone you love, [[TheSociopath which is an emotion Gregor has never experienced]]. Secondly, he would prefer Grunbeld's performance to not be affected; he was forced to watch his mother and best friend violated. It's not something the Mountain is happy about because Grunbeld had 10 inches over him and wields a sledgehammer like it's a baseball bat. Fighting the Mountain is one of few times Guts and Casca can set their differences with Grunbeld aside; both of them were victims of rape. Him having been a former follower of Griffith only fueled their hatred of the Mountain. Another member [[Pantheon/{{Demons}} of the Godhand]], Slan, has lamented that he never had a humanity to lose as he would've made a fine Apostle.
--> '''Slan''': "Such beauty... It touches me. Love, hatred, pain, pleasure, life, death. All are there... This is to be human. This is to be evil".
* Wyald sees Gregor as a kindred spirit, due to his violent tendencies in war, and sheer brutal strength. He even wondered if Gregor is an undercover Apostle, and especially likes what Gregor did Elia Martell. Horrifyingly Wyald is one of the closest anyone has come to being called a friend by the Mountain, though there's a relative RedOniBlueOni going on between the two; Wyald is bombastic [[PsychopathicManchild and childish]] in his blatant cruelty while Gregor is truly humorless and stoic if his BerserkButton isn't pressed...which is often, to be honest. Due to how StupidEvil Wyald is, Gregor [[HiddenDepths has proven he's not completely thick-headed and can actually use his brain when fighting]]. Of course, he's still more TheBrute than anything and rarely needs to think too hard.
* Some gods in the House of Pantheon/ProphecyAndFate have seen visions of his brother Sandor returning in order to fight him one last time in an event called "Cleganebowl". For whatever reason, whenever this prophecy is told, the area becomes littered with [[MemeticMutation Mountain Dew, Doritos, airhorns, dubstep, weed, and dank memes while black-and-white illusions of Snoop Dogg is seen dancing in the distance]]. The Deities are getting hyped for the upcoming event. [[spoiler:[[Series/GameOfThrones In the TV canon this eventually happened]], with Sandor [[TakingYouWithMe dragging his brother to the Seven Hells]] in a river of dragonfire.]]
* He has grown an intense hatred for the House of Pantheon/TimeAndTemporality due to the many alternate universes and timelines he has been shown through it, almost none of them having desirable results for Gregor. The ones that stick out the most and truly gets on his nerves are the following:
** The ones were Cleganebowl takes place, for daring to imply the battle against Sandor would ever be an even one.
** [[http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/06/02/article-2646687-1E6B468200000578-100_634x632.jpg One where he seems to be good friends with Oberyn Martell.]]
** One where he seems uninterested in rape and murder and instead tries to fight [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XGd8w9RhUM the overusage of]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_EuNmQOpbw plastic bottles.]]
** One where he only ever gets angry when you insult [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c19HRM0x-lA his own brand of vodka]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8oOi6JOXEQ One where Oberyn actually kills him flawlessly.]]
** [[Fanfic/TheMountainAndTheWolf One where]] Wulfric The Wanderer murders him with [[EvilerThanThou even more horrific brutality]] than he did to Oberyn and sacrifices his corpse to the Chaos Gods. This one deeply disturbs him.
** [[FanFic/AndTheGiantAwoke One where Tyrion Lannister of all people manages to best him in single combat!]] This last one always drives him over the edge. He wasn't happy about timelines [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10773314/1/The-Mountain-and-The-Barbarian Conan]] and [[https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13164959/1/Help-from-a-Ghost Kratos]] beat him in the Trial of Combat over Oberyn. His abhorrent personality certainly didn't endear them either.
** Perhaps most intriguingly, [[Fanfic/AManOfIron a universe where]] [[FusionFic the Marvel and ASOIAF universes were one]] and he's the Iron Monger. Obadiah? [[AdaptationalHeroism He was Tony's friend there]] [[DecompositeCharacter and not the Iron Monger]]. There he is Tony Stark's ArchEnemy and would be finished off with a combination of silver and sunstones equaling massive explosion. That timeline really sets him off as it exposes [[spoiler:he wouldn't care if he burns his bridges with Tywin and continue on his rampage, murdering anyone sent his way.]]
* [[spoiler:While always [[Monster/ASongOfIceAndFire a figurative monster]], he would become a ''literal'' one following his duel with Oberyn. Fatally and excruciatingly poisoned, Qyburn would reanimate him into the zombie-like Robert Strong, turning his strength into that of a true inhuman. Some have compared him to [[Pantheon/VillainousAppearances Jason Vorhees]], though it is not a comparison the latter's fond of as the sheer depravity of Gregor [[EvenEvilHasStandards unsettles him]]...which is really saying something. Cersei is speculating on what the effects of Robert Strong being in the House of Pantheon/UndeadAndPhasmata would be and if he can become a true EliteZombie. 90% of the Trope Pantheon dreads finding out.]]

This is the Hall where every action of war can be found, ranging from large-scale atrocities to the simplest acts of heroism. Given that this is the place where war and violence are at their finest, pacifists tend to stay far away from here, even when not everyone here means harm.

This Hall isn't really a sub-house at all, with its denizens' temples spanning the entire landmass of the House of Pantheon/MilitaryAndWarfare. Most deities here rarely stay in their temples as a result and hang out in the greener pastures of anywhere else, such as the other Halls or their Alliance headquarters.

** Degwin is friends with patriarch of the Ushiromiya family Kinzo Ushiromiya. The Sovereign was disheartened at how the old man's children fought over his magically-obtained gold, comparing it to his own kin jockeying for power and influence in the Principality. Even then they didn't actually ''kill'' one another (Gihren wouldn't have a problem with it but he never got the chance) for the sake of riches or power. The two often grumble by the fireplace comparing how terrible their children turned to be and how they themselves to an extent were responsible for that. Degwin wishes Garma got a chance to be a scholar like Kinzo's grandson George. As ornery and despicable Kinzo is dabbling in the occult and parental abuse, Degwin relates to the tiniest drop of affection he has for his children yet never got to express due to pining for his wife Beatrice Castiglioni[[labelnote:SIEG ZEON]]''not'' Beatrice the Golden Witch (that's her [[AmbiguousGender grandchild]] by rape) or ''her'' mother Beatrice Ushiromiya[[/labelnote]]. Degwin never addresses the Rokkenjima Massacre since it's clear Kinzo has tired of the subject.
