* The manga opens with the shadowy image of a crying girl and a tale of a girl being [[HumanSacrifice sacrificed]] to protect the school. Now consider that we learn Yuuko was not only sealed in that underground space, but that she also had a broken leg. She died, scared, alone, pleading for help, and in pain.
* [[spoiler:Shadow Yuuko]]
* Somewhere between this and TearJerker, [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/tasogare_otome_x_amnesia/v01/c000/26.html this]] vision Teiichi has while talking with Yuuko. She wasn't murdered quickly; no, she was apparently [[spoiler:sealed up in a basement, with a broken leg, and left to die slowly, in the dark and in pain, tearfully pleading for help]].
* Episode 4 of the anime gives us our first proper look at [[ShadowArchetype Shadow Yuuko]] as she stands over a sleeping Kirie, displaying a full on SlasherSmile full of dagger-like teeth.
* Episode 5 of the anime, while mostly lighthearted fun, has a really dark {{Mind Rape}}-ish segment that feels more in line of ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' or a [[ShadowArchetype Shadow confrontation]] from the ''VideoGame/{{Persona}}'' games.
* Episode 6: Nice of you to bring back the HumanSacrifice, Murder and Darkess into the anime. Kirishima Yuuko being offered up as a sacrifice for the fictitious monster that she created as part of a BatmanGambit that had GoneHorriblyRight. People she thought of as friends were willing to kill her to save their own skin, and the worst part is, there wasn't even any malice towards her when they were going to do it.
* Episode 10. All of [[TroubledBackstoryFlashback episode 10]] is either this or TearJerker. First person HumanSacrifice is a scary thing. Summary: Teiichi is trapped inside Yuuko's body via memory flashback ''and forced to watch as Yuuko is thrown into a filthy pit and left there, '''as she slowly goes insane and dies of starvation,''' with her leg being broken and thus making her essentially immobile on top of it all.'' Let me repeat: TEIICHI IS HELPLESSLY FORCED TO WATCH YUUKO DIE IN THE MOST TRAUMATIC MANNER POSSIBLE. It's a wonder he was still sane afterwards...
** Considering that not long after this he essentially [[RetGone RetGonned her from his memories and perception of reality]] ([[UnPerson blocked her out of his mind,]] [[InvisibleToNormals stopped seeing her]] [[UnPerson and forgot about her...]]) [[FridgeHorror maybe he wasn't.]]
