** Not to mention the [[UndeadChild ghost girl]] that Liz meets on the ship, who leads her back to Kid and Patty. [[spoiler: In the end when Crona uses Ragnarok to [[YourSoulIsMine vacuum all of the souls the Dutchman has captured]], she gets a cameo, telling Liz goodbye before being assimilated]]. Nightmare Fuel with a dash of TearJerker to go with it.
** In the anime, directly after Kid shows off his Mortal Sin stance in this episode, Crona turns Ragnarok back into his weapon form. There's a brief red flash, and if you pause it for those 6 or so frames, you can see ''all the souls inside Ragnarok screaming their heads off'' until they dissipate into green smoke.

** Everything Crona and Ragnarok. ''Everything''. Ragnarok manifests by ''tearing himself out of Crona's flesh''.
*** This counts in-universe as well. After Soul gets infected with the Black Blood, he has nightmares about bursting out of Maka's abdomen and killing her.

** As for him, so for the other Weapons. The manga more-so than the anime mentions that, while there are rules about which souls can be eaten, the origin of these rules--Lord Death--makes the whole business arguably suspect depending on how you view the Dumbledore-ish EldritchAbomination Grim Reaper. Mifune, for example, was said to be a legitimate target despite his peculiar circumstances (he only fought to protect Angela, a witch too young to be a threat to Shibusen or anyone else).
** At least this is the case in the manga. In the anime, Mifune is never suggested as being a target of soul collection. It's more an issue of the fact that (as of the Arachne arc) he works for the villain, so they were allowed to kill him if necessary, but taking his soul was off limits. In the manga, though, Lord Death totally suggests that Black☆Star should take Mifune's soul, as well as Angela's, right from the very beginning. (Though, to be fair, it's implied that he only suggested it because he knew Black☆Star wouldn't do it.)

** Why does he start suffering from madness? Well, the insanity clown that nearly took Maka complained that it didn't work on her, like it did someone else... Justin spends most of the series under MoreThanMindControl and, instead of Tezca [[PowerOfFriendship managing to save him]], kills at least two people he'd normally consider friends and [[spoiler: dies fighting against everything he once believed in]]. AndIMustScream, already, but does anyone ever figure out what really happened to him in-story? Not [[TearJerker on-screen, anyway]].

AndIMustScream, already, but does anyone ever figure out what really happened to him in-story? Not [[TearJerker on-screen, anyway]]. It's worth noting that the Clown/Clowns not being around is one of the major differences between the manga and anime, and Justin stays good in the anime. This might just be to keep the story compact enough to fit in it's 40ish episodes... or the people in charge of the anime adaptation agree with the above.

** A minor moment right after he's freed. Both Black☆Star and Kid try to take the newly-reborn Asura down, and his response is to... flick them. Gently. Which causes ''their faces to become completely concave'' for a brief moment, followed by blood gushing from their noses and mouths, taking them down for the count.

Gently, in an almost comical way. Which causes results in ''their faces to become becoming completely concave'' for a brief moment, followed by blood gushing from their noses and mouths, taking them down for the count.

* And let's not forget, from the anime, the town of Sarcophagus. The entire population of the town disappears with no trace or explanation. Later, it turns out that the people were EATEN by giant robotic clowns. Yeah...

* For all intents and purposes, Madness is a disease. And it's ''contagious.'' Just being near a person infected with Madness could infect you. And if you're not a highly trained superhuman Meister or Weapon, the odds are you have no defense against it.
