*** When the situation escalates, Arlecchino invokes a House of the Hearth rule that allowed Lyney, Lynette and Freminet to duel her to resolve their disagreement, a fight that all three are fully aware they'd lose. The Traveler joins in, but Arlecchino reveals herself to be so much more powerful than even all four of them combined and '''paralyzes the Traveler with fear''' via her KillingIntent. The only thing that relents how terrifying she is, is that her definition of "death" as far as betraying the House is concerned is [[LaserGuidedAmnesia removing the memories of the House from those who want to leave]], which she considers a DeathOfPersonality, but this aspect was an unknown for everyone involved until the very last minute, which she purposely hidden in order to cultivate an image of ruthlessness and terror around her.

*** The previous Knave, Crucabena, pitted the various members of the House, including her own biological daughter, against each other in vicious duels with the intent of strengthening one of them to become her successor. The members were outright enslaved, to the point of not even being allowed to see the sun, and it only changed because Arlecchino managed to kill Crucabena in a duel, which she wholeheartedly only believes she succeeded due to possessing a greater conviction than her opponent.
*** It is also revealed that Crucabena had a working (and amiable) relationship with ''[[MadDoctor Il Dottore]]''; the children who survive the battle, but are no longer in condition to fight, are still useful... as [[AbandonTheDisabled test subjects to be given]] to the Doctor for his inhumane experiments. If you read the webcomics, Dotorre is in charge of Haeresys, a Fatui underground lab and arena, where test subjects are sent to fight creatures of unknown origin (likely his experiments) and is responsible for turning Collei into a weapon through the use of god remains. Freminet barely escaped such a fate and, if not for Arlecchino taking ownership of the orphanage, the boy would suffer the same fate.

*** While the House of the Hearth is a much kinder place than it was before, one simple fact remains. It, first and foremost, is a Fatui Intelligence division, and thus [[ResignationsNotAccepted members can not leave.]]

Lyney and Lynette have zero knowledge about Crucabena at all. + Correcting the spelling of "Traveller" to "Traveler" to be more consistent.

** We get some context for how the House of the Hearth operated before Arlecchino took over and it was not pretty. *** Betraying "Father" is punishable by death, so when Lyney, Lynette and Freminet find themselves acting on their convictions on a matter they know she would disagree with them on, they try to resolve the situation in secret, even enlisting the Traveller to keep Arlecchino busy so they have time to act. She wasn't fooled for an instant, only playing along because if they ''did' manage to resolve the situation, then there wouldn't be evidence of their betrayal, all the while making it clear that she knew they would fail.

Added Arlecchino story quest.

Added DiffLines:

* Arlecchino's Story Quest:
** We get some context for how the House of the Hearth operated before Arlecchino took over and it was not pretty. The previous Knave, Crucabena, pitted the various members of the House, including her own biological daughter, against each other in vicious duels with the intent of strengthening one of them to become her successor. Lyney, Lynette and Freminet barely escaped such a fate.
** Arlecchino spends almost the entire quest being nightmare fuel incarnate.
*** While the House of the Hearth is a much kinder place than it was before, one simple fact remains. It, first and foremost, is a Fatui Intelligence division, and thus [[ResignationsNotAccepted members can not leave.]]
*** The quest ends with Arlecchino declaring she wants Lyney to take her place as the Knave one day, even after giving him the option to leave and remove his memories. While she offers him some encouraging words, Lyney walks away from the encounter considering her as the "hero" of the story, which while not strictly inaccurate, does create a rather alarming HonorThyAbuser vibe when you consider he only thinks this way because she simply chose ''not'' to outright kill him and his siblings and he feels indebted to her for that.

** The story ends with Arlecchino musing that only in death that they are equal, and has two additional corpses (and their blood) to clean up--that is a pair of Treasure Hoarders she killed a second ago. While she normally targets {{Asshole Victim}}s, it makes one wonder what would happen to the law enforcement, and journalists, if ''they'' are unlucky enough to stumble upon the Knave while conducting an investigation (especially those from the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol and the Marechausse Phantom)....
