Beginning as a pianist (and recording a few albums in the process), Edelman's first film score was the 1973 film ''Executive Action''. He didn't go into film scoring full-time until the 1980's, when he scored for TV movies for Creator/HenryWinkler (Fonzie from ''Series/HappyDays'') and series from his his production company (''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx9iOn7RI0g Ryan's Four]]'' and ''Series/{{MacGyver|1985}}''). Since then, he's been known as a composer who is able to tackle multiple genres (mostly action and comedy but he's done a few dramas as well) and has a few cases of SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic to his name.
