For Baekhyun, main vocal of EXO, his actor debut was actually earlier than his debut as a solo artist. His performance in his debut KoreanDrama, Series/MoonLovers, led to him receiving a New Star Award at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards, and an ''even massive'' increase in popularity.

In July 2019, he debuted as a solo singer with the mini album ''City Lights'' and its title track ''UN Village''. The album made him the 5th solo artist to sell over 100,000 album copies in the past decade and broke previous records set by EXO (placing number 1 on iTunes in 63 countries) and fellow EXO member Music/{{Lay}} (highest first day sales by a solo artist). In fact, the mini album sold a whopping 553,900 copies in South Korea and 262,000 copies in China.

In addition to being an IdolSinger and actor, Baekhyun is also co-director of Privé Alliance, a unisex streetwear fashion brand. He has his own personal collection, Privé by BBH, which was launched in July 2018.
