** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemEngage'' as a group has been hit with this status considering [[BreakingOldTrends that unlike the other mainline games]] (''Echoes: Shadows of Valentia'' and''Three Houses'') released after ''Heroes'', it has only had one "New Heroes" banner instead of two consecutive ones, which has generally only been relegated to spinoff titles (''Tokyo Mirage Sessions'' and ''Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes''). Considering that only one gender (female) of the protagonist Alear has currently appeared (usually both genders of the protagonist have been available at the same time), along with an April Fools 2023 video acknowledging Timerra and Ivy appearing in the second 2023 summer banner, many fans have wondered whether if Intelligent Systems doesn't have as much faith in the game compared to the other two mainline titles. While they initially started to get better showings as 2023 went on, it came to a head when Choose Your Legends 8 came out, and there were absolutely zero winners from ''Engage'' when most fans expected at least ''one'' character to win. However, at the same time as the Choose Your Legends 8 was announced, Mythic Lumera and Emblem Marth were announced in an [[UnexpectedCharacter unexpected way]]. The latter finally integrated the Emblem Rings mechanic to the mobile game. 18 days later, there's another New Heroes banner featuring Rearmed Hortensia, Attuned Ivy, Rosado and Kagetsu with Mauvier of the Four Hounds as the Grand Hero Battle unit. 2 weeks later, Male Alear got its Legendary Alt. A week later, Chloé got its character alt and Framme, as a seasonal unit, were added in "A Place to Rest" spring banner. Another Emblem Hero was introduced being Emblem Ike.

* Despite being a decently powerful unit (in part thanks to his ludicrously high statline), Alfred hit this hard when he was featured in the April 2024 Hall of Forms. It all stems from one thing: Alfred in ''Heroes'' is a Rearmed Hero, a premium unit designed to be foddered and merged over and over again - and Formas cannot be foddered off or merged into other copies of that Hero. With most other characters, it's an ObviousRulePatch to keep people from abusing Hall of Forms to get premium skills for free: with Alfred (and by extension all other Rearmed/Attuned Heroes), [[EpicFail it renders him basically useless]]. Within ''the day of the event srarting'', Alfred received widespread derision for being the only character with an objectively useless Forma.

*** Out of all the male [=OCs=] however, Njörðr is the one who got treated the absolute ''worst''. He was a fairly decent, albeit forgettable, mentor character during Book VII, and the fans were excited to see what would happen with their new twist villain... only for the king of Vanaheimr to enter his downward spiral as he was ''immediately'' killed off in the very next chapter [[TheUnfought without a single fight against him]], [[SpotlightStealingSquad Gullveig taking over as the villain again]], [[DisappointingLastLevel the story ended in what many felt was an unsatisfying note]], ''and'' he was left in the club of Male [=OCs=] who were not going to receive their base form until 3 years after their respective Book ends. Adding salt to the wound is that unlike male [=OCs=] (save Ótr) who at least had received a seasonal alt to tide fans over until their full release in 3 years ''and'' were all fought at least once so people could hear their voice lines, see their full combat art, etc., Njörðr received absolutely ''nothing'', leaving him in a state of limbo that no other OC has had the displeasure of being stuck in.

** Despite being a very popular character with all her playable variants being considered anywhere from "good" to "broken", Edelgard became a huge butt of jokes for losing '''[[https://i.redd.it/me7zxu9a4hla1.png 10 times in 9 voting gauntlets]]''', making her the current undisputed biggest loser in voting gauntlet history. ** ''Awakening'', despite its popularity and having saved the series, is sometimes seen this way, as new additions are very slow especially compared to games like ''Fates'', to the point when a banner which added a number of characters from the game along side Mirabilis, a daydream fairy, fans remarked "Of course it's almost like a dream that it'd happen."

** Funny enough, ''VideoGame/FireEmblemEngage'' as a group has been hit with this status considering [[BreakingOldTrends that unlike the other mainline games]] (''Echoes: Shadows of Valentia'' and''Three Houses'') released after ''Heroes'', it has only had one "New Heroes" banner instead of two consecutive ones, which has generally only been relegated to spinoff titles (''Tokyo Mirage Sessions'' and ''Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes''). This status had began to fade after the game finally got another New Heroes banner that includes Diamant, Alcryst as a Rearmed Hero, and Citrinne, alongside 3-4* demote Lapis, Male Alear as a login bonus, and Zephia as a GHB unit, though it saw a brief resurgence with the Fomortiis & Gotoh Limited Hero Battle map being restricted to ''Engage'' units, as the scarce pool of those units, let alone free-to-play units, made those two bosses [[ThatOneBoss even more brutal than they already were]]. However, this status came back full force once the winners for Choose Your Legends 8 were announced, as there were absolutely zero winners from ''Engage'' when most fans expected characters like Yunaka, Ivy, Diamant, and/or both genders of Alear to win.

Adding salt to the wound is that unlike male [=OCs=] who at least had received a seasonal alt to tide fans over until their full release in 3 years ''and'' were all fought at least once so people could hear their voice lines, see their full combat art, etc., Njörðr received absolutely ''nothing'', leaving him in a state of limbo that no other OC has had the displeasure of being stuck in.

No Engage winners for Choose Your Legends 8 was absolutely unexpected. Poor Engage.
