** That being said, there are a few modern elements that are present even before Arthur decides to toy with a TechnologyUplift and being a OneManIndustrialRevolution. Namely, artificing is portrayed moreso like modern science. The aforementioned Gideon resembles a modern MadScientist complete with a labcoat and EinsteinHair, and he does his work in what could only be described as modern research laboratories.
