He decides the Demon King needs to be dealt with so he grabs a random cheap sword (having forgotten the InfinityPlusOneSword is stored somewhere in the castle), goes off by himself, and the next panel shows the Demon King's decapitated head on display next to the throne. * ExcaliburInTheRust: An Adventurer shows up at the Item Shop to pawn off a dagger he found in a Dungeon that was sold for 18 Coins. Soon as he got his payment and left, he says that he just cast an illusion and attack up spell on a crappy dagger. However Saitou reveals that the "dagger" was actually a second sheathe disguised to make the blade look normal: revealing that the daggers '''real''' blade hidden beneath the sheathe was made from Mithril Silver and actually worth upwards of 300 Coins.

* AntiArmor: There is a metal-eating slime that the group encounters after Saitou attempts to disarm a trap. It gets on Raezla's armor and [[TheNudifier disintegrates it]] much to her embarrassment. Later Saitou uses a container of the slime against an Iron Golem for Raezla more easily defeat it.

* SaveTheVillain: When Morlock [[spoiler:touches the dark spirit Kisurugi and Primas summoned to kill everyone present, Morlock can see the memories and motivations of the ninja and his Primas are doing these horrible things to save the life of their loved one. Touched by this due to his own tragic past, he restricts his magical attack to breaking the connection they made to the spirit to spare their lives at the [[AnArmAndALeg cost of his own hand being blown off from the backlash]].

* OvertookTheManga: The manga started in 2018, while the anime started in January 2023. Despite the huge gap, the manga's short chapters meant the anime caught up a little ''too'' quickly; specifically, by the point in the manga [[spoiler:the party starts looking for the dog that ate Morlock's penis]], the anime had already moved past it and concluded its 12 episode run. Time will tell if the manga follows the same story or not.

* AccidentalHero: Morlock ends up saving [[spoiler:Saito by summoning him to this world. Saito was less than a second from being hit by a truck when Morlock's fooling around with the time-space magic notes he still had from when his memory was lost results in Saito coming to this world]]. Morlock, given his memory issues, has mostly forgotten this fact.
* ActionGirl: Raelza. She is a skilled combat fighter and able to hold her own in many fights. Others include Lilyza the monster-hunting ElegantGothicLolita who fights with an axe [[{{BFS}} at least as big as she is]] and Frantil, the [[OurElvesAreDifferent high elf]] who unusually for her highly magical race is a MagicallyIneptFighter.

** When Raelza and Saito are outmatched by [[spoiler:the greater demon mage who has come to the human realm, they are nearly killed when Morlock is able to recover his magical energy from the demon dog which consumed part of it along with his penis. With his body and power restored, Morlock is able to destroy the demon with relative ease]].

* BoringButPractical: Saitou's skillset. He has no combat techniques like Raelza's or flashy magic like Morlock's or Lafanpan's, but as a handyman, he's invaluable for picking locks, disabling and bypassing traps, and maintaining the party's equipment.
* BrickJoke: Ninia explains to Franlil that to better her healing spells [[spoiler:she must lick the wounds on her elf ally. This is a lie and an excuse to do some lecherous licking. When Morlock loses his hand fighting the demonic spirit Kisurugi's group summons, he asks for the same "treatment." Thankfully for Ninia, Monpui offers to use his priestly saliva as a catalyst to help Ninia's healing]].

* CerebusRetcon: Morlock's forgetfulness is played for laughs, however the reason for it [[spoiler:is that he was once the great mage Chrome. However, he pursued his career to the point of ignoring his ill daughter and wife's distress. While he succeed in achieving his goal to attain the rank of a great mage, his daughter died hoping he would come home, clutching the necklace she made for her father and he never once wore before she died. With not enough money to pay for a resurrection as it was put all into his lab, his wife leaves him. After [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone realizing that he really should've took his wife's warnings more seriously]] and after his wife angrily leaves him after their daughter dies. he takes a moment to realize that, for all the effort that it took to attain his mage certification, he trashes various things in his house in anger after he comes to terms with the fact that [[AllForNothing it means nothing now with the result of his only daughter dead and wife leaving him after selfishly accomplishing his mage-related goal.]] He then seeks out in the Great Labyrinth a mage who is said to control time. He finds him, but fails to win a duel with the mage to make him train Morlock in these magics to reverse time and save his daughter. The mage, before departing to other worlds, grants Chrome a "gift" and promises to erase the guilt he suffers from by erasing his memories of his old life. After this and misreading the necklace's tiles, he becomes Morlock the senile wizard with poor memory]].

* CharmPerson: Succubi are capable of charming adventurers to bring them close in for an attack. When Saitou is charmed, Raelza saves him and scares her off with an attack, but this causes Saitou to switch to being charmed for Raelza, to her embarrassment. Before he can kiss Raelza under the influence of the magic, Morlock deactivates the charm.

* CrackOhMyBack: Morlock is prone to these due to his age. Fortunately Lafanpan is able to use her magic to heal his back temporarily.
* CuttingTheKnot: One dwarf mastersmith, tired of everyone thinking him a cheat for how quickly he can repair the clients wares and weapons but charges them for the skills he possesses, has moved to a secluded part of the city and behind a door with 108 locks. The keys locations are not known. Saitou just picks each one to gain entry.

** '''Damager''': Morlock. His magical attacks are wide spread and capable of serious harm. When he remembers the words.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: [[spoiler:The Demon Lord's decapitated head in the omake chapters is still alive, and now plays chess with the King, using his tongue to move the pieces. He later gains a new body by hiding his head in a human-shaped head and rides atop the shoulders of a dullahan while serving as the new army commander.]]
* DirtyOldMan: Morlock. When the party encounters a [[SuccubiAndIncubi succubus]] who disables Saitou with her [[CharmPerson charm]] power, Raelza and Lafanpan assume Morlock will be fine because as a high-level wizard he has [[ResistantToMagic magic resistance]]. They fail to account for the succubus being a beautiful [[FullFrontalAssault naked]] monster girl, and unlike Saitou, Morlock does ''not'' IgnoreTheFanservice. Thus Raelza has to chase off the succubus by herself, but only for Saitou. She just walks away from Morlock under the assumption that the succubus will find him unappealing enough to reject his advances.

* TheGadfly: Lafanpan takes some notable amusement poking and watching Raelza's fumbling involving her crush on Saitou.

* GoodIsNotSoft: King Maderka has the nation's best interest at heart, but he is not a weak individual when it comes to tough choices.
** When no one will rise to take on the threat of the newly risen demon king, he will do so [[spoiler:and quickly defeats and decapitates the demon king]].
** While he does help [[spoiler:Kisurugi save Lavella, he rips into the formerly cold assassin who has claimed so many lives finally understands the pain of loss only because of Lavella's curse ending. He sees him as a contemptible human and gives no illusions on how saving Lavella will be a painful process of hacking off more and more of his limbs until there is sufficient life energy in the blade]].

* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Saitou constantly looks down on himself as "dead weight" since he is not strong, can't fight, and can't do magic, not noticing how important he is and that his party members truly care about him. It's best showcased when he's out with a cold for a few days, with the party notably struggling without his additional support he provides.
* HonorBeforeReason: Lafanpan suffers a hereditary curse where she will shrink over time unless she gives offers of gold coins as tribute to the moon goddess. When Saito learns about this from Raelza, he considers giving more of his share to Lafanpan to help her out but Raelza dismisses the gesture. Lafanpan is too proud to accept charity like that and will only take gold she has earned by finding treasure or being paid for magic buffs or minor healing.

* JackOfAllTrades: Saitou can do a lot of things beyond lockpicking from making a custom backpack for Lafanpan to cooking. He notes he's always been good at everything, but also never fully shined in anything either, which contributed to his self-worth issues as he grew older.

* MagicStaff: Morlock and Power Wizard use these. The latter is notable for carrying an incredibly large staff made from the WorldTree and has the strength to use it as a [[CarryABigStick club]] or a [[BladeOnAStick spear]].

* {{Nepotism}}: Monpui, the priest candidate for the Hero party is initially dismissed by two committee members citing genuine criticisms of the young man. However, when the third member notes the candidate is his nephew, the other two try and couch what they said in a positive way and he is awarded the place on the party. That said, while he does do some duplicitous things later on, he is skilled in holy magic and defensive barriers.

** A SwordAndSorcerer pair consist of Lilyza, a well mannered slender young woman in GothicLolita clothes and Gibble, a rough, muscular, unshaven man in armor. He's a wizard/thief duel-class, she wields a gigantic battleaxe.

* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld:
** Lavella is a witch who is cursed to not age. She looks like an adult woman but is really over 400 years old.
** Demons age much slower than humans. Tahelfon, one of Kisurugi's allies is over 300 years old and [[spoiler:is the nephew of the decapitated Demon King. The Demon King fails to recognize the boy when they meet because he has grown up in their time apart]].

* SaveTheVillain: When Morlock [[spoiler:touches the demonic spirit Kisurugi and Primas summoned to kill everyone present, Morlock can see the memories and motivations of the ninja and his fairy ally are doing these horrible things to save the life of their loved one. * ScarsAreForever: Raelza has one on her cheek that she received from a goblin during an early adventure. Once a wound has formed a scar, it's almost impossible to heal it magically. A pair of rare magical items together would do the trick, and Raelza had already found one of them...but sacrifices it to revive Saitou after he's mortally wounded and a [[WeaponizedTeleportation teleportation trap]] has separated them from Morlock and Lafanpan.
* ScatterbrainedSenior: Morlock is one of these. This naturally causes problems when the party needs his magic to get out of a jam.
** The most recurring problem is his forgetting his own spells. Saitou helps avert this by having memorized most of his spells and will provide him the finished incantation should Morlock need it.
** He diagnoses a lightning trap which prevents Raelza from crossing with her armor on. He tells her if she gets out of her armor, he will levitate the armor over the trap and they will be fine. Once she changes into Saito's uniform, Morlock walks into the trap while holding the armor.

* ShedArmorGainSpeed: Attempted by Raelza after Saito gave the armor some tweaks, but parts of her clothes beneath that armor were torn, causing it to come off and results in her DefeatByModesty when she was dueling against Franlil.

* SupportPartyMember:
** Lafanpan initially serves as this. She has no offensive power, but she is able to heal her allies and provide defensive buffs.
** Saitou also grows into this role as he learns new skills. He studies magic to help Morlock remember his incantations, he provides defense for Lafanpan while she heals and buffs the others, and he keeps extra weapons on hand so that Raelza can switch them out as needed. He's become such an integral part of the party dynamics that when he's out with a cold, the party struggles enough for Raelza to demand he recover soon.
* StrongerThanTheyLook:
** The King in the omake chapters. When no one shows up to be a hero to slay the Demon Lord, he decides to do it himself. He proceeds to do so using just an average sword he bought from a store because he forgot his actual equipment at the castle.
** His minister likewise also turns out to be a skilled mage specializing in stone magic, as some rebels who try to take over while the king is away learn the hard way.

* TakingTheBullet: Saito pushes Raelza [[spoiler:out of the path of a powerful ice magic spell which encases him in ice and leaves her to fight the powerful demon mage alone]].

* TragicKeepsake: [[spoiler:Morlock's current name comes from one. His real name is Chrome, which in the other world's language is written with the same letters. Chrome's dead daughter had a necklace with his name on it that he kept with him while trying to discover [[TimeMaster magic to rewind time]] and reverse her death. The same incident that gave him [[LaserGuidedAmnesia magically induced amnesia]] broke the necklace, and the letters ended up scrambled to spell Morlock, which he assumed was his name since he couldn't remember it.]]
* UtilityPartyMember: Saitou's role at the start of the story. He has no experience in combat, but his history as a handyman provides him with numerous useful skills off of the battlefield. He later adepts to shielding Lafanpan from minor attacks, switching Raelza's weapons to the right one, and helping Morlock remember his spells. After he's been with the party for a few months and is out sick for a few days, the team realize quickly how much of their weaknesses he has come to cover and support.

** The priests of the church can use resurection magic to revive the fallen in battle.
* WizardClassic: Morlock is an elderly bearded man skilled in magic, dressed in robes, wearing a pointed hat, and wielding a staff. Unfortunately, the years have taken a toll on his mind, and he struggles to remember the incantations for his spells.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: A greater demon mage disposes of an underling when [[spoiler:that underling has arrived in the human world to hunt for the master's renegade demon dog but is beaten back by Saito and Raelza. The demon mage rips itself from within the underling, having used him to get into the human world]].

He realizes then that Morlock is the reason for his arrival here]].

** There is also an enchantment which can be granted to a person which grants a revive automatically within 24 hours of death. [[spoiler:Morlock has one on him, unbeknownst to him and the others. However after it activates and revives him, he keeps cycling from walking skeleton to human because not all his major body parts were close to his corpse upon activation. Some wild dogs took his penis from his corpse]].

* FantasticMeasurementSystem: "Maderaca" is a unit of measurement used in the story. Morlock explains that the first ruler of Maderaca had a GagPenis and its length was used as said measurement.

* BigDamnHeroes: When Kisurugi and his squad have Saito, Morlock, Lafanpan, and Raelza on the ropes [[spoiler:''every other adventure team'' the group has gotten friendly with, Gibungle, Lilyza and Gible, Franlil and Ninia, and Canis, Lychee, and Monpui join the battle and work together to take down the demonic spirit Kisurugi's team summons]].

** [[spoiler:The King of the land]] is a rare mage who can use revitalization magic, which can undo powerful curses and turn back time.

* Laser-GuidedAmnesia: A couple of times: first and most noticeably [[spoiler: Morlock was once a great wizard known as Chrome. After losing his daughter to illness after he was too focused on learning magic, he sought to learn time-reversal magic to go back and fix his mistake. However, he failed to defeat the powerful wizard who had power over time and space, who erased his memories as a sort of mercy.]] And second, [[spoiler: Part of the price to restoring Lavella’s youth and saving her from her curse is that she would forget everything related to whoever donated the life force used to heal her. Since both Isurugi and Primas gave up some of their life force (by having parts of their bodies removed), she forgets both of them.]]
