* In ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'', Melvin (Marrik's SuperPoweredEvilSide) is trying to get into a locked door. After trying the only 4 letter words in his vocabulary (Kill, Stab, and Pain) he begins the usual method for cracking the code. 1111. 1112. 1113. 1114. The password? [[spoiler: 9999.]] And when he finally opens it... [[spoiler:there's another door behind it, after which he apparently gives up. Later on it's revealed said door had the password "OPEN"]].

* In ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'', Melvin (Marik) spends most of the Virtual World arc trying to get through a locked door requiring a password. He tries every word in his vocabulary: STAB, KILL, MUTILATE (though that one doesn't fit), and PAIN. A few episodes later, we learn that the password to open the door was [[spoiler:OPEN]].

That password with 5 characters and 1 capital ain't bad. It is long, so it is hard to guess, but is also easy to remember.

* In ''Film/SmallSoldiers'', newly-minted Globotech employees Larry and Irwin are handed secret passwords to access the Globotech database. Irwin's password is "[[Film/{{Gremlins}} gizmo]]", which is both too short and a dictionary word. Worse yet, the moment he receives it, he immediately blurts it out, which later allows Larry to log in with the authorization to choose a microchip for their new toys, kicking off the plot.

* Indonesia's Telkom used to offer voicemail feature to their fixed-phone subscriber, this was never really popular since the handsets has no way to alert the user that they have unread voicemail and since phone call is still considered relatively expensive, most people will just hang up after few tones to avoid getting charged for the voicemail. However, for whatever reason, the voicemail is accessible from *any number* for free (even from public phone without inserting any coin) with the default password being the number itself and people can record their welcome message there. Cue welcome messages edited for prank or used as free messaging service.
