The Jedi healer made friends with several other mains, and died not more than a few years after those books. Twenty in-universe years later on the Death Star (in a novel called ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Death Star]]''), it turns out that one of those surgeons, having been [[YouCanNeverLeave coerced into continuous service]] is still around and was very attached to that Jedi.
