* ''Manga/LoveHina'': Downplayed with Mitsune "Kitsune" Konno, who's from Kansai but is more of a crafty trickster than an idiot. That said, she does fit the stereotypes of always being short on cash and loving alcohol to the point that she's almost never seen without her booze...except at one point, where it's replaced with vinegar. She isn't pleased.

** Subverted
with vinegar. She isn't pleased.Kaolla Suu; while she gives off this impression due being a hyperactive, silly and loud GenkiGirl who speaks in Kansai dialect, she's actually a foreigner and only speaks in Kansai dialect because she learned Japanese from Kitsune.

Added DiffLines:

* ''Manga/OneechanBiyori'': Played straight for Akane Yumesaki and {{Inverted}} for her younger sister Chie Yumesaki. Akane is goofy and sometimes immature for her age, preferring to [[TheGadfly be a complete tease]] to Chie, as well as being silly-prone. Chie, on the other hand, is serious, level-headed and the OnlySaneWoman amongst the two, as well as her family.

** Downplayed with Ryuji Goda, another Yakuza Boss, this time for the Go-Ryu Clan (he's also the very son of the 6th Omi Chairman Jin Goda). He's more DumbMuscle at first glance, but he's suprisingly competent for merely being TheBrute of the Omi. [[spoiler:Subverted; He's actually a Korean born in the Jingweon Mafia]].

** ''VideoGame/LostJudgment: Kaito Files'' has [[TheBrute Shusuke]] [[TheAlcoholic Kenm]][[BloodKnight ochi]]. He speaks with a loud Kansai, is an alcoholic, and loves to brawl. [[spoiler:Both the Alcohol and the Brawling both cloud his head enough to make him forget about accidentally killing Mikiko's family by way of arson.]]

Naru from Sailor Moon does not have an Osakan accent despite her name

* ''Anime/SailorMoon'': Averted by Naru [[LampshadedTrope Osaka]] who seems to be relatively well-adjusted for someone [[DamselInDistress who is kidnapped every five seconds in the early series]]. In fact, in her first appearances she comes off as being quite more levelheaded than Usagi. ([[TheFool Not that it's too hard.]])

From what I could find, the Japanese version was created first.

* In the Japanese version of ''VideoGame/SonicRushAdventure'', Marine The Racoon is definitely this trope. In the English version, she has an [[LandDownUnder Australian accent.]] Since Sonic Team is based in the United States, we may never know [[AccentAdaptation which was adapted from which.]]
