Basically, this trope is about a scene that has a lot of rape undertones/metaphors/vibes without actually involving the use of genitalia. Something about the scene just reeks of sexual predation. May involve ForcefulKiss, ClothingDamage, LecherousLicking, PervertedSniffing, PervertedDrooling, NoSenseOfPersonalSpace, KissOfTheVampire, use of phallic symbols to threaten/attack/hurt/kill, MindRape, MoreThanMindControl, drugging someone, and the like.

In addition, when it's taken out of context it can even sound a lot like rape. A person may act like they actually got raped or DefiledForever after the scene by taking a ShowerOfAngst, cutting their hair, attempting suicide, etc. Subtrope of RuleOfSymbolism. A TraumaticHaircut can be this, in a Rape of the Lock sense. Of course, the whole thing can have serious hints of NightmareFuel. A MemeticMolester may be prone to this.

ShamefulStrip is another related trope. Related to DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything. See also NoYay, FoeYay. Compare/Contrast AttemptedRape. May also just be a symbolic rape threat or a symbolic AttemptedRape. Sometimes a SymbolicRape can be a hinting at an actual rape that might occur later on or hint at a past rape. Sometimes a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown can be symbolic of a rape as well, especially considering the beat up bloodied state of the person afterwards. Might also be present if a villain attempts to marry the hero/heroine. Might also be present in a IHaveYouNowMyPretty moment.

!Examples from fiction:

* Yuri's father in episode 15 of MawaruPenguindrum. He carves her body with a chisel to make her "look beautiful" and be worthy of his love, while repeatedly telling her that she's ugly and he can't love ugly things. It's suggested that his chisels represent his penis and that he's raping her when he carves her body just to make that scene even more made of NightmareFuel.
* SoulEater: The longer Giriko's fight with Maka goes on, the more it descends into this. It gets to the point where you could replace chainsaw with penis and have it make just as much sense.
* Rip Van Winkle's death in Hellsing at the hands of Alucard. It didn't help that in the manga, it's drawn pretty much exactly like a hentai scene, down to the ridiculously intense blush on Rip's cheeks when Alucard drinks her blood. And her constant wriggling and gasping under his hands as he slowly inserts her musket through her body.
** Seras Victoria's MindRape at the hands of Zorin Blitz.
* The three sub-villains of Manga/SailorMoon Super S examined the dreams of pure-hearted people (one attacks young girls, another attacks older women, and the last one goes against males of all ages) to determine if Pegasus was hiding there... by forcibly sticking their head into the victim's "dream mirror". While the victim screams in pain or discomfort. Usually after seducing the poor Jane/John Doe to draw him/her to a secluded spot.
* DNAngel: Hiwatari Sr has many, very creepy moments with Satoshi, his adopted son. From "I missed seeing your face" to "I'm doing this for you, my precious son" to "I don't want to lose you" to "One has to take good care of their tools" to a scene in Stage Four (manga volume 15) in which he forces Satoshi to transform while holding him down over a table -- yes, the entire thing has very disturbing rape undertones.
* OutlawStar: Harry's hacking attempts on Melfina.
* Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion: Asuka's brutal mental torture inflicted by the Fifteenth Angel. It's so debilitating, she can no longer sync with her [=EVA=] unit, and eventually falls into a catatonic depression. Most translations include Asuka screaming something like, "It's raping/defiling/violating my mind/soul!" and is actually the TropeNamer for MindRape.
** In episode 23 Armisael is physically penetrating Eva-00, and Rei is arching her back and moaning like she is having sex or being raped in hentai-style.
** Earlier in that episode when the angel Armisael tries to fuse with Shinji and Rei and Shinji stabs Armisael causing her to let out a horrific scream and then tiny Rei heads emerge from bloated veins that have appeared on Shinji's hands while calmly saying 'It hurts Ikari-kun. Doesn't it hurt'? And then Armisael takes Rei's form, and caresses Eva-01's face, causing veins to appear across it, in an attempt to "become one" with Shinji.
** The AT Field is the light of the soul, the sacred place no one may invade. Yes, when an Eva cancels an Angel's AT Field, it's metaphorically raping the angel's soul.
* In TokyoMewMew, Kisshu kisses Ichigo the second he sees her. Later on, he attempts to kidnap her, straddles her when preventing her from helping her friends, and things escalate from there.
* TengenToppaGurrenLagann with all of its heavy reliance on Freudian symbolism features this at times. In particular, the scene where the Anti-Spiral deconstructs poor Nia Teppelin carries heavy rape-like undertones in the show.
* Naruto features this sometimes too. One example being Naruto and the FillerVillain Fuka. She tries to kiss him like four times because her kiss is a KissOfDeath. Even so she still makes some suggestive comments to him like "I'll be taking your body", "those lips of yours will be mine, this time I'll make sure of it", and "lets have some fun together", "lets have a hot kiss", and "I might even spare you if you let me have that body of yours". Not to mention her penchant for invading his personal space or calling him cutie and sweetie while acting all flirtatious the entire time.
** And then there's Suigetsu first appearance where he pressed his wet naked body against Sasuke's back and threatened him in a teasing manner.
* Julie Katou's behavior towards Chrome in KatekyoHitmanReborn as well as everything about Byakuran and Mukuro.
* Prince Diamond has a crush on SailorMoon and while he never tries to actually rape her, has tried to plant kisses on her (in the manga he succeeds), while having NoSenseOfPersonalSpace, and trying to mind control her into obedience.
* In FullMetalPanic most of Guaron's interactions with anybody, particularly with Sousuke have this vibe. . And Leonard once planted a ForcefulKiss on Kaname leading her to react like he tried to rape her.
* In RosarioPlusVampire when Miyabe plants a ForcefulKiss on Mizore, and she attempts suicide.
* In Gankutsuou we have Andrea suddenly attacking Haydee.
* FairyTail- The Galuna Island Arc. Lucy tries to fight Sherry Blendy with Taurus, but Sherry uses her "Marionette Attack" to force Taurus in attacking Lucy instead... by pinning her... on... the ground...
* Manga/DeathNote: Near keeps calling and harassing Light at odd hours of the day and night and hanging up. He also has a habit of making some very unsettling facial expressions when thinking about what he's going to do with Light and in the manga there's how he wanted to . Not to mention how when Near it's dripping with rape metaphors.
* KarakuridoujiUltimo: Chapter 10 had a rather nightmarish scene where Rune and Yamato are in mecha form. Rune has Yamato forcibly pinned down, in a manner that sends off some disturbing rape vibes. He even talks about how it must be hurting Yamato.
* GetBackers: Don't say that Fudou's "throbbing desire" to force Ban to "give his body to him" isn't an metaphor for rape.
* In DeadmanWonderland Genkaku's actions towards Nagi are this.
* In DGrayMan the whole "Tyki Mikk destroyed Allen's "innocence" (his arm), then made a hole in his heart and left him alone in the forest" sounds like he raped him and his attempt to kill him looked like a sort of violation when he stuck his hand through his body.
* CodeGeass: Suzaku seems to have a thing for pinning Lelouch to the ground. The second season reveals that during the Time Skip, the Emperor used his own Geass to give Lelouch Fake Memories. The scene gets almost uncomfortably close to an actual rape, with Suzaku holding Lelouch down and Lelouch begging for him to stop. Also, In Code Geass R2. Suzaku, trying to find out if Lelouch has regained his memory and become Zero again, attempts to use the Refrain drug on Kallen to make her tell him the truth. Kallen is so disturbed and shaken that she begs for him not to, as though she were about to be literally raped by him. Just before dosing her, Suzaku realizes he is becoming Not so Different from Zero, and stops. When you think back to season one and how the mind of Kallen's biological mother was nearly destroyed by the drug, it's not that much of a stretch to believe that poor Kallen would liken a forced dose of refrain to a sexual violation.
** Mao has a sexual interest in C.C. which is best expressed when he takes out his chainsaw and threatens to cut C.C into pieces in order to run away with her. And then there's when he shot her and she acted like she was having an orgasm in response.
* from Anime/TigerAndBunny drugged in a way that eerily reminds one of date rape tactics.
* In Ergo Proxy there's a scene wherein Raul Creed is threatening Daedalus into helping him, coming up quite close and, if memory serves, touching him on the face. Though both characters are attractive, the whole thing feels very much like rape, making it highly disturbing.
* In InuYasha, Inuyasha found himself on the receiving end of Jakotsu's attentions who was quite determined to show Inuyasha the affection he always gives to his favourites... which involves torture and death. His scenes with Inuyasha carry some heavy rape undertones.
* LightNovel/Bakemonogatari being a series that uses some sexual symbolism does this at times. Most notable is the scene where Koyomi brushes Karen's teeth. That scene and everything leading up to it is uncomfortably evocative of rape.
* A half human half spider hybrid appears in the first OVA of Angel's Feather. When he appears he wraps Shou up in his web, caresses him, gets close to his face, sticks his finger in his mouth which causes Shou to blush, and licks him before trying to murder him by penetrating his body with his pincher.
* PerfectBlue features the scenes where Mima is being photographed naked by the borderline-rapist pornographer Murano.
* RevolutionaryGirlUtena features much MindRape of this nature as well as the way the Black Rose duellists draw swords from the student council members, complete with intensely creepy sexual subtext. The most notable ones are (it's pulled out very slowly - perhaps sadistically so, depending on who you ask), (she suddenly dashes forward and pulls it out with her own hands!), and (which is mostly just extremely sexualised).
* In Bleach Tsukishima and Aizen are both masters of the SymbolicRape of the MindRape version. And then there's when Aizen betrayed Momo by hugging and stabbing her. Or when Grimmjow smiled a huge SlasherSmile and thrust his arm through Luppi's and Rukia's bodies. Or when Nnoitra grabbed Orihime and put his fingers in her mouth to keep her quiet. Or when Ulquiorra thrust his arm through Ichigo's bare chest leaving a big hole (its also said that Ulquiorra only leaves that kind of hole on his favorite victims).
** In chapter 415 its shown that Aizen's people beat Rangiku up and stole a part of her soul to power-up the Hogyouku prototype. The disheveled state of her clothes didn't help either.
** In Szayel's released form, he grabs an opponent with one of his "wings" and then spits them out. One of the strands of his "wings" becomes engorged and bursts with purple liquid, creating a small doll that has the victim's likeness. Szayel apparently absorbs some of the victim's spiritual power in the process. Ishida was noticeably disoriented after the process, and Szayel stated "Thanks for the feast" before licking his lips.
* MarchenAwakensRomance does this with the Phantom's MindRape of Alviss, as well as when he touches his face, gets close enough to kiss him twice, chains him to his throne, and licks his tears.
* DragonBall: Cell's drinking and eating people through his tail was disturbing enough even before the manner in which he did to it Android 18. What with the constant up-and-down motion, the absolutely awful sucking noises, and 18 moaning and crying out in fear, which began in a horrible scream just before all this even started… is there any need to say what this is symbolic for?
* Claude in Kuroshitsuji when he Mind Rapes Ciel, gets inappropriately touchy-feely with him comments on how "fine" he feels, practically has an orgasm while talking about Ciel, kisses his foot, and when he states how he's going to "pierce Ciel's soft skin with his needle and slowly suck out his sensual soul" as well as the line Sebastian says to Claude about how "that sticky white spider thread of yours tarnished master's soul".
* No 6 does this at times. One scene features a top No 6 official sniffing, licking, and fondling Dogkeeper because he thinks she's a prostitute as well as when that one guy corners Shion and says he's pretty and promises him meat and drink.
* Osanai to Paprika. Though in his case .

* In BuffyTheVampireSlayer many vampire attacks have extended rape metaphors.
* Claire having had her regeneration power stolen by Sylar in Season 3 of Heroes (via the latter slicing her skull and examining her brain). She swears revenge and later tells her birth mother she wants to "...To hurt him, okay?... to hurt him for what he did... he hurt me!".
* In RizzoliAndIsles the way Charles Hoyt preys on and tortures his victims, most notably Jane, is uncomfortably and disturbingly reminiscent of rape.
* Dexter gets this a lot. He seems to have a disconcerting habit of getting really close to his victims once they're on his table. Physically, I mean. Entirely deliberate, as killing was Dexter's equivalent of sexual release.
* Hotch being tortured by the Reaper in the Season Five premiere of Series/CriminalMinds ("Try to relax, the blade goes in so much easier").
* Glee: Karofsky planting a ForcefulKiss on Kurt.

* In ThreeDaysGrace song "Never Too Late", the guy in the striped sweater is hinted to have abused the little girl sexually and physically when we see him touch her shoulder, throw a bed over revealing her that she was hiding under it, and we also see his hands covered in black paint and her body covered in his black handprints.

* TheDarkKnightSaga: The scene where the Joker tells Rachel the second scar story. Something about the whole scene reeks of sexual predation, and to make it even more horrible there's the fact she knees him in the nuts, which is usually the best defense a woman has against a male attacker, and he actually likes it.
* The scene in Film/RedEye where Rippner accosts Lisa in the airplane bathroom.
* Psycho: One of the most disturbing things about the infamous shower scene was the very sexualized way in which it was handled. The fact that Norman just watched Marien undress, the close-up on her stomach, her heavy breathing right before she died... As well as the distinctly phallic silhouette of the knife, the ejaculatory spurts of blood as Norman repeatedly penetrated Marien's body with his knife, and the fact that the entire murder was born as a result of Norman's sexual repression. It's classic Hitchcock symbolism.
* In the Scream movies the killer usually attacks young beautiful woman, preying on them, harassing them with phone calls by pretending to be someone pleasant before proving them wrong, and combining flirting with attempting to kill them with his phallic shaped knife.
* In Disney/BeautyAndTheBeast pretty much anytime Gaston is around Belle he makes aggressive advances on her and tries to blackmail her into marrying him. The entire "coerced marriage" theme is pretty much a literary fig leaf for lust and rape.
** The film's battle scene includes a man ripping the feathers from the sultry feather duster in another rape metaphor. Her candelabra boyfriend doesn't take this well, and gives the jerk what's coming to him.
* In Disney/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame Frollo has an obsession with Esmerelda and once sniffs her hair in a scene rife with dark subtext while restraining her from behind.
* Alien: the face hugger's forceful implanation of an embryo into the host, the violent form of birth, and even the shape of the alien are intended to represent rape.
* Appears briefly in Disney/Hercules when Meg is "negotiating" with the river guardian. "I like 'em fiery!"
* In Tangled, when the Stabbington brothers encounter Rapunzel, the atmosphere is so ominous it feels like an AttemptedRape scene. They really just want her magic hair, but still...
* The scene in FightClub where Tyler can be seen as a male-on-male rape parallel. This fits nicely with the theme throughout the film of masculinity and emasculation.
* In the film BlueVelvet, the main character Jeffrey gets kissed and almost beaten to death by AxCrazy sociopath Frank Booth (the male on male rape undertones makes this scene even more disturbing than it has to be).
* In Film/SpiderMan we have a SymbolicRape threat when Green Goblin provokes Peter by saying that he and Mary-Jane are "gonna have a hell of a time" while taking out his phallic looking trident.
** From the third movie-when the alien symbiote bonds with Peter. Peter even takes a ShowerOfAngst after managing to free himself of the symbiote.

* In one scene in the original Dracula novel, Dracula shows up at night and forces Mina to drink her husband's blood. The imagery features Mina bent over with blood smeared on her white nightgown.
* Literature/LordOfTheFlies has the scene where the boys kill the sow by thrusting pointed sticks into her. One of them goes "right up her ass!"
* In the HeatWave novel by Defictionalization fictional author Castle Richard Castle, NYPD detective Nikki Heat suffers from this while interrogating a russian hitman.
* Short story: "Thirsty God" by Margaret St. Clair. The male lead has actually raped a purple-skinned alien girl, but when he tries to take refuge from her angry family in an ancient shrine, his body gets operated on by alien machines that weren't designed for humans. He soon finds himself physically helpless while primitive amphibian humanoids force his body to telekinetically absorb their excess moisture. In other words, they're forcing their fluids into him.
* In ASeriesOfUnfortunateEvents, Count Olaf makes quite a few comments on how pretty Violet is and tries to marry her to gain her inheritance. In the second book, he has his knife to her thigh under the table stroking her with it.
* Speak has a scene where Melinda and David are preparing to dissect a frog and Melinda faints when she sees the frog being pinned down because it reminds her of when she was and she sees herself as the frog.

* TeenTitans does this with Slade with pretty much anyone he interacts with. Most notable is the MindRape he does to Raven in "Birthmark".
** Not to mention all the analogies for the aftermath of rape, such as becoming an adult (forcefully losing her innocence), cutting her hair, and the markings (despite it being Trigon's, it could be seen as Slade "leaving his mark").
* CodenameKidsNextDoor: Knightbrace is a wannabe dentist who was rejected by the American Dental Association for being too crazy. He is shown stalking the streets, ambushing children, and mutilating their mouths. His attacks are played out disturbingly like rape scenes.
* Freaky Fred gave CourageTheCowardlyDog a TraumaticHaircut in this sense by completely shaving him bald with a SlasherSmile on his face while creepy music played in the background. Courage acted incredibly traumatized during all this, understandably.
** Katz often tries to strangle Courage when trying to kill him. In a few cases of rape, a rapist would try to strangle the victim.

* During a torture session in MetalGearSolid, Vamp takes one of his crotch-knives and stabs Raiden with it, coming up with Raiden's white blood and licking it off the blade.

** Mao has a sexual interest in C.C. which is best expressed when he takes out his chainsaw and threatens to cut C.C into pieces in order to run away with her. And then there's when he shot her and she acted like she was having an orgasm in response.
