* During the mass scale UsefulNotes/Russian invasion of UsefulNotes/Ukraine in early 2022, Russians landed troops largely unopposed on the Ukrainian coast of the sea of Azov in support of their ground troops coming from both Crimea (which they occupy since 2014) in the South and their puppet republics of Donbas in the East, converging for the siege of Mariupol. This resulted in them occupying a corridor going all the way from Donbas to Crimea and controlling the whole basin of the Sea of Azov. Further landings were planned to take the Western Ukrainian coast of the Black Sea and Odesa, but the failure of the ground offensive on Mykolaiv, the failure to hold Kherson, the war of attrition dragging on after the failure of the Kyiv offensive and Ukrainians demonstrating their capabilities in anti-ship missiles by sinking the Russians' Black Sea Fleet's flagship, the cruiser Moskva, have since deterred Russians from attempting such landings again, in addition to beaches on said coast now being mined. Ukrainians have also destroyed several Russian landing ships with missile strikes on Berdyansk and Crimea, both to prevent such action from happening again and to disrupt Russian supply lines.

* The Falklands War of 1982 provides a classic example of an unopposed landing. Incredibly, Argentinian defenders on East Falkland appeared to be completely unaware the British were landing an army, and made no attempt whatsoever to disrupt or counter-attack the landing beach. The landing was such a relaxed affair, in fact, that the very first British unit ashore was a detachment of the Royal Army Catering Corps - who found they had ample time to establish a fully-functioning field kitchen so as to welcome Royal Marines and paratrooperstemporarily tasked with disembarking from landing craft, as honorary Marines for the day with a good hot cup of tea and a hot meal.

* VideoGame/ConquerorsBlade is mostly about medieval sieges of castles and walled cities, but there is one map that fits this trope. It's a newbie mission called By Land and Sea, where your task is to establish a foothold outside the city of Reginopolis by landing troops on the nearby beach and moving inland from there.

* TabletopGame/Diplomacy allows a more abstract version with naval fleets' ability to convoy an army across water to land in a distant land province. Since convoying fleets cannot also provide support for the landing army and ties go to the defender, an attempted landing by an army is going to need overwhelming force from other supporting units nearby, skillful use of IKnowYouKnowIKnow to deke the opponent out and land where their units aren't, good talking skills with both allies and enemies to achieve the previous two, or some combination of these to successfully land an army across water.

** Operation Torch, the Allied capture of Vichy French-held areas of North Africa in November 1942. The landings succeeded against weak Vichy French and Italian opposition, and dropped off a full British and American army group. The German and Italian forces found themselves squeezed from east and west because the Brits already had an army in Egypt. Add on the fact that the Royal Navy was making resupply from the north via the Mediterranean a major problem and the Sahara to the south isn't exactly accommodating to large military activity, and by early 1943 North Africa was free of Axis forces.

** The Normandy landings of Operation Overlord on June 6th, 1944 are the most famous, and largest, real life example to this day. The Allies invaded Nazi-held France across the English Channel. The Americans landed at Omaha and Utah Beaches, the British at Sword and Gold, and the Canadians at Juno. Of these five beaches Omaha is the most well-known because it was the most difficult, with the Americans suffering heavy casualties before finally breaking through. They were helped by a massive deception operation: though the Wehrmacht had fortified virtually their entire 3,000 mile Atlantic coast (the so-called "Atlantic Wall"), the obvious target was the short distance from Dover to Calais. So the Allies faked a build-up of troops and materiel at Dover and sent fake messages in old codes they knew were compromised, and then hit a couple hundred miles further west in Normandy.
