* VideoGame/TalesOfTheAbyss: The AnimatedAdaptation by Sunrise is this- Creator/BandaiNamco only released it subbed for the North American market. Comparatively the game got an English dub, albeit with the title theme bowdlerized to be instrumental only (as per the case with all Tales games released outside Japan). Most fans of the Tales series knows of it's existence tho.

* Anime/FinalFantasyUnlimited - no doubt heard of by the Final Fantasy fan community outside of Japan, but unfortunately ignored by other anime enthusiasts. It was released subbed in the US in the 2000s by ADV films tho.

* Level 0: Series is so well-known that many people outside of the anime fandom generally know about this. The series is to some extent part of worldwide pop culture (and usually dominates in Japan). In the English-speaking fandom almost all anime in this category were those released in America as a [[AnimationAgeGhetto kid-oriented]] English dub on network television during TheNineties, although this isn't a rule, as there are a couple of animes released before or after that decade that also qualify.
* Level 1: Some people outside the anime fandom may have heard of this. Pretty much everyone in the fandom knows about the series. They may not know it in great detail, but they should know enough to talk about the series and likely have an opinion on it. You may find limited traces of it in pop culture.
