A SciFiKitchenSink is for all intents and purposes the playground of Science Fiction Tropes and everything associated with them. Have an ArtificialIntelligence construct able to run the CoolStarship? It makes you coffee in the morning. HumongousMecha? You walked by several on the way to work. FasterThanLightTravel? [[CasualInterstellarTravel Totally mastered to the point where even Joe Penniless can get a ride to the stars.]] [[BeamSpam Laser and particle beams as weapons?]] Everybody and their dog has one. The list of possible areas seems to be endless.

A good way to tell if a work is a SciFiKitchenSink, is ask three questions. Is it in the SciFi genre? [[MohsScaleOfSciFiHardness Is it softer than reality by a wide margin according to the scale?]] Does it use all or much of the stuff in the genre of SciFi and not [[LampshadeHanging Hang A Lampshade]] on it? Answer yes to all three and you likely are dealing with a SciFiKitchenSink.

** One thing that is awkward in Traveller is the mythic level that you see in BabylonFive. It can be done but needs adjustment. For one thing there is little place for TheChosenOne, and no canonical UltimateEvil.

* This Troper has heard {{Traveller}} claimed to be this by a disgruntled "anti-fan"(to coin a word) and indeed the claim has more then a little merit to it. To it's credit, {{Traveller}} does tend to work hard on [[{{JustifiedTrope}} justification]] and in [[YourMileageMayVary this troper's opinion]] it comes out superbly.

** One thing that is awkward in Traveller is the mythic, UltimateEvil defeated by TheChosenOne kind of thing that you see in BabylonFive or StarWars. It is possible with a little work but tends to hurt the setting. Traveller can be played as SpaceOpera rather then other genres, but when done it is more the sci-fi equiv of HeroicFantasy or LowFantasy then HighFantasy.
