* ''VideoGame/{{Skylanders}}'' series:
** In the third level of ''VideoGame/SkylandersSwapForce'', Mudwater Hollow, the second third of the game has you on a raft steering it through a river filled with mines. There will be aqueducts in the way, which means you have to jump to land to open them.
** The second level in ''VideoGame/SkylandersImaginators'', Mushroom River, is a slower variant, as the rafts move slower and covers the entire river, so you don't need to steer them. Instead you have to jump off and on them as they will be going through towns with low bridges.

* ''VideoGame/SuperMarioParty'': River Survival is a mode where all characters have to travel together across a network of rapids while avoiding obstacles (as getting hit will substract the current time limit). From time to time, they have to play a Co-Op minigame to win and gather extra seconds to the aforementioned time limit. The rapids' path fork into many branches, and the characters have to pick one. It's necessary to play this mode several times to take all possible paths and earn one of the Gems that unlock the game's ending.

Another variation, found in underwater levels, is that the current requires speed boost phlebotinum or help from another character to get past them or block the current off. Alternately, they may serve as a BrokenBridge or ChokepointGeography to force the character in a certain direction in the game, or be something like a one way street. In this case,making a mistake can get you blown all the way back to the beginning. Sometimes, the liquid in question can be something other than water as well.

* ''VideoGame/MarioPartyIslandTour'': The minigame Slip Not takes place in a very large grotto with four cascades that descend onto a large moat with many green crystals (a few fully-vertical cascades can be seen as well, but they're just part of the scenery); the cascades are also surrounded by a deep pit. Each character has to surf through one of the cascades, and as they progress the cascades not only bend more often, but also get narrower, thus increasing the risk of the character's premature fall. The characters who reach the end win, but if all of them end up falling down, then the one who got closer to the goal will be the winner.

* Several ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' games have levels of this kind, like Piranha Plant Slide and Koopa Cape; though it's mostly you guiding the kart down the tube and trying not to slam into the walls/your opponents/whatever they're tossing at you.

Shy Guy Falls in ''VideoGame/MarioKart8'' stands out, as it has you drive up a waterfall with boost pads on it; you must drive over the boost pads in order to negate the opposing water flow and, once at the top of the hill, you do a U-turn and proceed to drive ''down'' another waterfall to a gliding ramp.

* ''VideoGame/EtrianOdyssey'': The Undersea Grotto, an aquatic dungeon in ''The Drowned City'' and ''Nexus'', features underwater currents that have to be dealt with as the player's character party makes their way to the lower parts of the Yggdrasil (in the former game) or the eventual entrance to Yggdrasil itself (in the latter game). Not all these currents are detrimental, however: Some are helpful to succesfully avoid certain FOE monsters. At one point, a mystical sphere is collected and, when placed to its pedestal, it will shut down all currents across the labyrinth.
